The house is located in lovely apple orchards and is many years old. The view from the porch is just surreal. One room is furnished with a tandoor (fire place), foam ground sheet, mattress and quilts, some books and games. There is complementary fire wood stocked for your use. You literally have the whole place to yourself!
During the day you can explore the ways of the mountains. Trek through the forests, collect fire wood, climb rocks, swim in the river and go catch some wild hens!
The owners, Mr Kalzan and his wife Dolma, live 5 mins walk away on a tiny village farm with their dog Rambo, 3 cows and a lamb. They have been running the Hamta Tea Stall for over 25 years. It is open all year, including winters! and serves travelers home like breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Come and enjoy the real taste of Himachal in Hamta. Most ingredients are all natural, farm fresh and locally grown here in Hamta and dishes are made in kullu and lahuali traditional style.
Lungri - a local rice beer made here. It is white in color and very smooth. Must try!
Arak - a distilled version of Lungri. Clear in color and stronger.
Cow milk - farm fresh cow milk. Taste so much better!
Sidu: a steamed bread stuffed with walnuts and served with ghee. So good.
Rota - a flat bread made from jaggery and whole wheat flour in home made ghee. Super breakfast.
Chilra - pancakes made from flour and jaggery and served with a vegetable side dish.
Bhedni roti: sesame and jaggery stuffed inside paratha.
Local rajma and red rice - try it!
Momos - steamed dumpling made from whole wheat flour, stuffed with veges and local herbs.

Feel the difference in taste of local vegetables: Red potatoes, white potatos (both local variety), palak, sirso, raddish, band gobi, corriander.
Also try the local farm ghee! Smells out of the world.
The entire house and the surrounding orchards are open for exploration.

Mr Kalzan and his wife Dolma, owners of the house and Tea Stall will be there to assist you with anything you need.

Other things to note
No toiletries except for hand wash is available here. Please bring your own toilet paper, bathing soap, shampoo and towel.
JIO and Airtel both offer excellent 4G mobile internet coverage here.
Electricity is plentiful and reliable in Hamta. Its available 24x7. There is a electric plug socket in the room.
There is free flowing mountain water available near the room and tea stall and it is safe to drink.
There is electric rod for heating water. In the day time the water tank heats up and you can enjoy bath with warm water in the evening.

Clothing wise, during the day a t shirt, fleece jacket, woolen cap, pants are fine. In the evening and mornings, you will need an additional insulating Jacket. First couple of days requires more clothing but soon the body adjusts to environment. There may be rain and wind, so a waterproof jacket or poncho is good to have.
Guest are expected to take care of this place like their own home, tidy up the space, and take all waste including beer bottles back to the tea stall before they leave. Else a cleaning fee of Rs 300 will apply.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.
