About this listing
This 17th century and idyllic forestry house is located in one of Denmark's best preserved forests and with only 100 metres to an isolated and lovely beach.
The house is shared by two families, where our part is app. 150 m2.
Our place is an incredible refuge and can offer amazing nature experiences. It is a place where you can find peace and where you will be able to relax with you, your family or your friends. If you also fancy nature experiences, you have come to the right place.
The House is located 100 metres from a kid friendly sandy beach, which from time to time is visited by a few locals from the region. The house lies on a peninsula, which offers beautiful nature walks along the coast or in the surrounding forest.
However, it must be pointed out that it is not aloud to walk outside the gravel roads as there is commercial hunting off deer and other wild animals in the forest.
The bottom part of the house has two bed rooms, one giant open living room with a wood burning stove but which also include a "separate" room for eating and where also the dinner table can be extended, and from here there is direct access to the kitchen. From the kitchen there is access to our south facing garden where there is an outside dinner table, and in summer it has the sun all day. In addition the bottom floor also has a big entrance, plus a dressing room for coats etc. And finally there is a bathroom.
Upstairs there are two large bed rooms, and a reading room with a 3-person couch.
Weekly rentals are normal from Friday to Friday, or Saturday to Saturday. In the summer period it is only weekly rentals.
The house is shared by two families, meaning that you should NOT enter the other part of the house, that does not belong to us! This is expected to be respected!
It is advisable to have a car, motorbike or bike, to get access to the house, that is located about app. 5 km. from Husby and 8 km. from Ejby. The nearest public bus is about 3 km. away.
Interaction with guests
You will always be able to call or write a SMS-text to my mobile phone during your stay, if you have any questions or problems.
Other things to note
When you have paid for the rental we will let you know how to get the key for the house.
It can be a little difficult to find the house, so when you have paid for the rental, we will send you a detailed description of how to get there.
There is an outdoor shower with hot water in the garden - which HAS to be tried.
There is a sauna, next to the laundry room. It is powered on the big switch in the laundry room below the water boiler.
Wood burning stove in living room, but the stove door should be CLOSED during burning. Wood for burning can be collected outside next to the main gate, where there is a big pile of wood.
Outdoor dinner table plus chairs in “our” garden are located just outside the kitchen. Pillows and blankets can be found in the "chicken house". Please take these inside during the night.
Weber barbeque is located in the yard outside the kitchen. The barbeque must ONLY be used/ignited at the edge of the lawn (away from the house), to avoid the risk of any sparks igniting the straw roof (the barbeque should be located in the direction of the wind blowing away from the roof).
If there is heavy wind, it is ABSOLUTELY NOT aloud to use the barbeque as sparks can easily get carried with the wind setting the straw roof on fire. It only takes one little spark to ignite the straw roof, resulting in the house burning down. The barbeque need to be put back in place after use with the plastic sealing on top.
The house is from the 17th century and therefore a bit fragile considering its age.
We have decorated the house with items and details – old as new – and we would appreciate that you take care of these and treat these with care and respect!
The gate to the yard HAS to be closed at all times, and ESPECIALLY during the night. As otherwise the deer will eat all of the flowers and bushes in our garden!
Park your car/cars outside the metal gate, on the lawn or next to the barn.
It is NOT aloud to have any open fires, due to the straw roof that only need one spark to be ignited, and with the house burning down as a result.
Please respect that the house is a “non-smoking” house.
Smoking outside is fine, but please pick up the cigarette butts.

I'm a documentary film producer from Denmark. I have had my own production company for a bit more than 20 years.
I have extensively traveled the world, with and without a camera, and love to experience new and different cultures, nature and people in general. So this also means, that I appreciate to stay in unique places as like our own place :-)
