Clarence House has 4 apartments, 2 x one bedroom and 2 x 2 bedroom. All individually boutique styled with your comfort in mind. So If this apartment is booked please check out the others for availability.

The space

Clarence House Holiday Apartments is an 1840 Grand Victorian Manor House situated within the conservation area of Ventnor Park with stunning views and a central location. Opposite Clarence House take a walk through Ventnor Park to the beach and stroll the promenade to award winning restaurants and nautical themed pubs; everything is within walking distance from here. The famous Botanical Gardens with its Organic Restaurant and Gluten free specialties is a superb day out, as is exploring all the hidden beach coves and places of natural beauty. Be prepared to leave here relaxed and re-vitalized.

Guest access

Upon arrival at Clarence House, we will greet you and guide you through the gardens to you own private entrance. Arrival time is normally from 2pm on-wards, but please let us know if you would like an earlier arrival and we will happy oblige if possible. This leads you into your fully equipped, self-catering apartment - making it truly a home from home for the duration of your stay. The gardens are full of lush vegetation and flowers with tables and chairs dotted under shady trees and parasols, just perfect for that morning cup of coffee or chilled glass of wine.
Being an area with so much natural beauty we have many walkers, tri-athletes and cyclists exploring the island. Therefore we also provide a lock-up store for bikes and equipment.

Interaction with guests

We always look forward to welcoming guests to share our beautiful house and are happy to advise on places to visit, things to see and do; and for the more athletic among us Robert will happily guide and advise cyclists, walkers and open water swimmers. I am better at advising where to get the best cream tea or how to get to the amazing world renowned Garlic Farm.

Other things to note

Please be aware that this is a self-catering holiday apartment and not a hotel or bed and breakfast establishment. We provide you with fully equipped, very comfortable accommodation and lots of guidance and information on things to do in the area. The local shops, with butchers, bakers and grocery stores are a short walk from Clarence House. Plus there are some very good local restaurants that we happily recommend.
Ventnor is the prettiest spot on the island, but do bear in mind it is also the steepest. With hills and long, steep winding roads it is not suited to the unfit or infirm. Clarence House has a no dog and no smoking policy. In July and August we have a minimum stay of 7 nights and a 3 night minimum stay for the rest of the year.

We ask that everyone is respectful of the other guests staying at Clarence House and to keep noise to a reasonable level. This is a beautiful house in a quite, peaceful place and therefore is not suitable for anything that would disrupt that tranquility. This self catering apartment is for 4 people only + 1 on a sofa bed. No additional guests are allowed.
Due to our location and the layout of Clarence House, we are happy to accept booking that include children of 12 years old and older. The premises and grounds are not suitable for young children or people with mobility issues.
We do not charge a cleaning fee as many other listing do, therefore we require you to leave the apartment as you found it on arrival. If you do not wish to clean up after your stay, please inform us at the time of booking and a £50 cleaning fee will be payable on arrival.
You are required to empty all your rubbish in the appropriate bins and please respect the peace and quiet of our location and neighbors.
We have a strict No Smoking Policy anywhere in Clarence House or the gardens.

A wonderful place to base ourselves. We all slept so well as the beds are extremely comfortable. The apartment is very spacious with all the amenities needed to have a great time. The hosts, Gillian and Robert are very welcoming and friendly. Great hosts! Thanks Location is great with good access to the rest of the Isle. Close to the town and beach. We highly recommend this stunning place

Gillian and Robert are marvellous hosts! They were lovely and flexible at all times, and made us feel really relaxed. The flat is spacious, beautiful, practical, and extremely well situated.

My 1st visit to the Isle of Wight was last October when Robert brought me here for a surprise birthday trip.We fell in love with the open countryside and wonderful views. On a day exploring we came across Ventnor which we thought was lovely and quaint but with a touch of the Mediterranean about it, with steeply slopping landscape heading down to a beach cove with crab boats bobbing in the tiny harbor. We went wandering around the town and cam across the local estate agent and pressed our nose against the window when we spied Clarence House up for sale - and the rest, as they say is history.
Prior to being on the Isle of Wight we owned a large Country Manor House in Cognac, France which we also used for guest accommodation. So little by little we will be bringing all our lovely French bits and bobs back to incorporate into Clarence House.
