This house is suited to peaceful guests who are not here to party in this quiet residential area. The secluded garden is enjoyable on sunny days and there are a couple of bantams to perhaps lay you an egg! The garden gate gives access up onto the South Downs National Park and is only a couple of miles walk to the beautiful Stanmer Park yet only a mile away from town. I have a friendly cat called Chubz although she's anything but lazy.

Please: take off your shoes when going upstairs or when you have been outside in the garden

Re padlock the garden gate (the key is one of the tiny ones on the bunch for the conservatory)

Keep doors locked and windows shut when you are asleep or out.

Open the bathroom window when you have a shower - turn the handle clockwise to 12o'clock and the top of the window will lean inwards.

Cold taps is on the LEFT in the kitchen and bathroom

We had a lovely stay in Matt's house for the weekend, enjoying the chickens and Minty the cat. Our kids also loved the trampoline! The house is clean, cosy and a true home a away home, perfect for exploring Brighton and the surrounds. We caught the bus from the end of the road into town and the seafront, a great way to venture out without the stress of parking. Matt accepted our booking request late the night before our arrival after we were let down by another host. He went out of his way to get the house ready for us at very short notice and was there to greet us and show us around. Thank you!

Matthew was friendly and hospitable. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Located in a quiet area high up on a hill with views through the large picture window above the stairway over Brighton and the sea in the distance. Basic but adequate accommodation. Restaurants and take-aways only a few minutes drive away.

Matthew was a great host and the was perfect for our stay during the marathon weekend. The house is spacious and there is a beautiful garden. Being able too see the sea from upstairs was a nice surprise as was the occasional from Minty the cat!

Relaxed and welcoming - We really enjoyed staying in Matthew's home - we felt at home straight away, and were welcomed by the cat and the chickens. Great to wake up to a view of the sea on the landing in the morning. Communication with Matthew was easy and he always got back to me quickly. I would recommend Matthew's place as a comfortable home to stay in Brighton. Although it is up the hill from town, there are lots of number 50 buses, or it's a 15 minute (uphill) walk from Moulsecoomb station.

Response from Matthew:
Thankyou for the good feedback Stephen. There are indeed lots of buses to my house which is indeed one of the highest places in Brighton - I guess you do get the view to make it all worthwhile!

I'm an osteopath who loves life by the sea in Brighton. I enjoy the city life and all the countryside around the area. I keep chickens, a lovely cat and bees.
