Welcome to Hulili Fruit Farm, producing tropical fruits year round. While new to Airbnb, we have over 150 FIVE STAR reviews on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and other websites.

Hulili Tropical Fruit Farm has a 'Sweeping, unspoiled, take-your-breath-away, view" in every direction! The sun and moon rise over the ocean as you watch the wonders unfold from your lanai.

The space

Come and enjoy the breathtaking views, and beauty of Hulili Farm.
The sun and moon rise over the ocean as you watch the wonders unfold from your comfy rocking chair OR swinging bed on the lanai. Birdsong is the beautiful sound track on this private farm located at the end of a dead end country road. Relax as you walk through the orchards and please, sample the fruit...that's when it is best!

A huge AVOCADO tree (named Ms. Caddo) hugs the patio next to the lanai. You may taste her fruits in season and almost always there will be a stalk of 'apple' bananas hanging from her branches. Bring some groceries and you are ready to settle in.

Guest access

The COTTAGE is bright, clean, and furnished with all you will need. The 'BAMBOO SLEEPING CHAMBER' offers a KING size 'sleep number' bed with dual controls for firmness. A FULL size futon is inside, and outside on the LANAI is the QUEEN size 'HANGING BED'. (This bed has become a favorite with our guests, who sleep, nap, read and talk while swaying in the breeze, taking in the beauty.) Walk-in shower and pedestal sink in the cottage bath. Private laundry room with all supplies is available for our guests and just steps away from the cottage.

Interaction with guests

Should guests have any questions, you can easily find us working in the orchard or around the farm! And text message or cell phone is always an option too!

Madeleine was a wonderful host and the location is absolutely perfect! Their cottage is on a beautiful farm, overlooking an orchard and the ocean. The place is very clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing. We utilized the fully functional kitchen throughout our stay. The bed is extremely comfortable! The front porch area was a perfect place to spend mornings sipping coffee and enjoying the view...two rocking chairs and even a hanging bed to relax in! I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a great stay in the beautiful Hamakua Coast.

I've stayed at a good number of Airbnb's over the years and this place is now officially my favorite. It was 100% perfect for my wife and I. Madeline and Todd were super helpful. The location is secluded and beautiful, but not too far from Hilo. It's a great location to explore Waipi'o valley, Volcano, Mauna Kea and a million other things. Would love to stay here again if we get the chance. Oh, and falling asleep on the hanging bed to the sound of coquis was a dream come true.

Very nice and responsive host. Beautiful space- quiet, clean, peaceful. Beautiful property with a wonderful view to wake up to each morning. The cottage is spacious and equipped with everything you need and more- fully equipped kitchen, towels, beach towels, and much more. The hosts really thought of everything. Bed is comfortable and the temperature at night is perfect- not too hot or too cold. The location is about 20 minutes from Hilo, not too far but also not right in town. One thing to note- we did not have cell phone reception out there. But there is wifi- not the best wifi, but it works. So it wasn't really a problem, just something to be aware of! We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others! Thank you Madeleine! :)

When we booked this trip for a Christmas away form the norm, we did not know much about the various islands of Hawaii. What we knew is that we wanted a tranquil setting to connect with the gorgeous natural landscape and not be trapped on a resort or hotel type accommodation. Well, in short- SUCCESS! Madeleine and Todd's cottage is an absolute gem on the Big Island. Despite rainier than normal weather, we were not deterred from swimming with giant sea turtles at Carlsmith (20 min drive), enjoying some excellent meals in downtown Hilo (15 min drive), ziplining Umauma Falls (10 min drive), a relaxing dip in the thermal pools of Ahalanui Park (1 hr drive), seeing the majestic canyon and caldera near of Volcanoes National Park (1 hr 15 min drive) and being utterly floored by the stargazing at the Mauna Loa Vistor's Center (1 hr 20 min drive). The Hulili Cottage provided the perfect base to come back to after taking in all the beauty and wonder of the surrounding areas. The view from the lanai is incredible! Each day provided a bit different sunrise, rainstorms rolling across the farm or pristine views of the Pacific Ocean. There were fresh avocados from the giant tree in the yard, as well as delicious bananas and lychee berries. We also took a stroll around the farm one afternoon, snapping a hundred photos and watching the birds play among the branches. The cottage itself has everything you need- a partitioned sleep area, a futon and the hanging bed for afternoon naps (highly recommended). We cooked a handful of meals in the kitchen, which is nicely equipped with everything you need save a full size oven. Our 9 year old daughter was delighted to have some playmates (Madeleine and Todd's children, their dog Kai) around and she wore herself out on the trampoline and grounds near the house. In summary, I'm so happy we decided to book our stay here and would highly recommend this cottage for anyone visiting the Big Island in the future!
