Our basement apartment is cozy with lots of room and fun decor to make you feel right at home! We have a dart board, games and a coffee/tea bar. A fun place to hang out or just a comfortable place to sleep!

The space

Spacious basement apartment with a large fenced in backyard with gardens in the spring-fall months for your picking! We welcome well behaved pets, we have a yellow lab and very friendly cat that would be more than happy to say hello! Games, darts and snack/tea & coffee bar stacked! We do not have a kitchen, but there is a microwave/grilling oven and a small fridge. You are also welcome to use our grill outside!

Guest access

I work from home so I most likely will be upstairs and I can help with any last min details you may need- if I'm not here go through the driveway through the back yard and your door is the bottom white one. The key will be there in a lock box! We are always here to help make your stay the most comfortable we can- so if there is something else you need that's not listed just ask I'm sure we can find a way to get it!

Interaction with guests

We can go both ways on this one- just have to let us know what you prefer! Shared back yard so you will probably see us outside in the summer, working on some kind of project! We have a crafty household!

Other things to note

The main bedroom is pretty sound prof but the second bedroom is located below our main living room and kitchen. You can hear footsteps from us and our dog. Also we just had a baby in Aug. so might hear tiny baby cries.
We use the air conditioner when it is hot in Seattle. Which is rare. But we just want you to know that it stays pretty cool downstairs. So if your the type to run cold this might not be the place for you, we do our best to accommodate to your temperature and provide plenty of blankets and a space heater for winter. But it is a basement so it stays pretty moderate at all times of the year.

We are pretty flexible but we do expect a level of respect. Since we love upstairs we just ask that after 11, your not super loud.
Pick up your dog poo outside! I have doggie bags in the entry way and the garbage is near the back door.

When using our dart board please be aware that we can hear the darts when they hit the walls.. please respect that and if your doing it over and over again it please stop! Also please note we would like darts to stop around 10-11 pm Use your best judgement!

Our stay with Jamie and Scott was absolutely fantastic. Jamie and Scott are excellent hosts, very welcoming and approachable. They both went the extra mile in making sure our stay there was 10/10. We cannot thank you enough! The flat itself is very spacious, clean and in a nice neighbourhood. Spending time in the garden with Stellar (the dog) with a BBQ going was definitely the highlight of our trip. Thank you so much!

Jamie & Scott's place is super spacious and a great place to stay! We were attending a conference nearby and found the location really convenient. We also loved meeting their dog! The apartment is in the basement (separate entrance) and there are facilities for making/heating up food (and tea and coffee, which we really appreciated in the rainy weather!).

Great atmosphere, very friendly hosts. We enjoyed our stay there. My kids enjoyed the room and atmosphere. It does tend to get chilly, so long sleeve shirt would be a suggestion if you run cold like myself. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this place to all. Thank you Jamie and Scott. Congrats on the new baby.

Good things: Great location (15 min to downtown), and good price comparing to the location. You can have privacy because you use whole basement. Finally, their baby and pets are adorable! Bad things: Honestly, I do not understand how dirty it was, counting the fact that they charge $35 cleaning fee. ceilings were covered in mold, the room was full of damp smell, and we couldn't take shower because shower curtains were covered by pee stains and mold. We gave up drinking from cups because they had coffee stain too. The bed was clean, though. They could improve accuracy of listed photos, because they look much brighter than the real one. The property is the basement (did description mention that it is in the basement?) and has two tiny windows that connect with 2 feet above the ground. It cannot be that bright even after turning all the lights on. Jamie told me in advance that they just had a baby (congrats!) and that the baby crying may be noisy. However, the baby crying was the least problem. In fact, crying was barely audible. But the real noise came from the ceiling when they walked around the house upstairs. The floor must have been made out of wood, they were making very loud squeaky noise. Since the ceiling was just 6.5ft high, we could hear their footsteps and squeaks as if they are right next to us, and it kept us up since 5 in the morning. It would have been nice if they mentioned it in the description, so that we could choose other place or at least prepare some ear plugs. The way in was a bit unclear because we had to use the backdoor to the backyard. You have to find the wooden door next to the garage, and find the key from the lock box. It was a bit difficult because I did not expect it to be basement.
