This is a superb place to stay in Barcelona. Sean and his family are extraordinary hosts: warm, welcoming, and proactively helpful. The flat is architecturally significant and simply stunning. It's perfectly located in the vibrant Gracia neighborhood, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and beautiful plazas that brim with activity in the evenings. Barcelona's major tourist destinations are all a short subway or taxi ride away but we really enjoyed getting to know Gracia on foot. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

This is a wonderful apartment with extraordinary historically kept architecture and interior. The juxtaposition of the original art nouveau rooms with International Style/modernist furniture is simply perfect. Sean and Juan Enrique we're delightful hosts – sharing stories and making us feel welcome. Garden and pool in the back if you walk through their seperated part – also very beautiful. Metro is right outside the front door and the Vila de Gràcia neighbourhood is also really nice to walk around in. Strongly recommended and we want to come back sometime!

This is a beautiful apartment and a special place to stay. Sean gave us a tour of the apartment and explained everything of significance and we felt lucky to be staying there. It's a 10 min walk to a cool little area with quite a few restaurants and the area isn't overrun with tourists. You can walk to park guell and the metro station (lessops) has an entrance approx 10 steps from the front door. The apartment is not totally independent from the owners apartment and you have to walk through their apartment to get to the garden and pool which for us took a bit of getting used to because we didn't want to invade their privacy. Sean didn't make us feel like that, it was my feelings. It's a special place and I recommend staying there.

From the moment we arrived at this beautiful apartment we were made to feel welcome. Sean was the perfect host - nothing was too much trouble and he gave us great tips on wonderful restaurants and places to visit. Access to the metro is no more than 20m away and it's also walkable distance to some must see places and good restaurants. The apartment is spacious and had everything we need to make our stay in Barcelona relaxed and comfortable. Moreover, the detail and authenticity of the apartment really added to our stay and we truly felt like we were a part of this great city!

This place is truly special and surreal. We felt so blessed to have experienced it. I can't even express how phenomenal it felt to wake up here! Location is perfect, the metro is literally steps from the front door. Pay 10 EUR for 10 trips and you can get to anywhere you want to go. Several cafes around the building for breakfast/lunch and tapas places within walking distance. It's difficult to force yourself out of the flat each day though, as it is so wonderful to just hang out there and people watch on one of the balconies. Sean, John Henry, and Francis were fabulous hosts and took great care of us. We felt like friends after only 2 nights there. Highly recommend this very special flat.

The most amazing apartment stay with some of the warmest and kindest hosts you could ever hope to have. First off the location is amazingly convenient - literally right next to the Metro exit and two Metro stops away from the Diagonal. Easy to get to by Metro or by bus, both of which we used liberally. Sean welcomed us with a detailed tour of Casa Ramos and its architecture, which we walked through with jaws dropped at how beautifully it had been restored and redecorated. Somehow it's even more gorgeous seeing it in person than in the photos. They had already thoughtfully stocked the kitchen with some essentials, which we much appreciated after arriving at nearly 11pm. The apartment is right between a bar and a bakery, so you can even get freshly baked bread in the morning. The apartment was clean, comfortable and just breathtaking to stay in. You have one whole side to yourself but are welcome to Sean's side and the sunken garden/pool/hall. We had a great time meeting Sean's parents and having cava in the afternoon with them and they were so kind as to help us hold our luggage until our flight on the day we left. We actively miss them already! All in all, it's an amazing place to stay and worth every penny for the experience, both for our hosts and for the apartment itself.

Everything about this place is perfect - our hosts - Sean, Frances and John Henry; the location, ambience, and history, .... but what sets it apart from any place we have stayed before is the way we were embraced and made to feel so wonderfully welcomed by the Carbonell family. On arrival we were greeted and helped with our luggage and given a history of Casa Ramos by Sean with so much passion. Sean, being an architect, is a walking encyclopaedia of Modernista Barcelona and we enjoyed many conversations with him where he shared fantastic insights about this period. Everything about our stay was incredible. Warmth, hospitality, amazing attention to detail. Great insights in to where to go, what to do, where to eat. The location is second to none - the Metro is right outside the door. Gracia, too, is a very nice area - good to be away from the old town and yet so close. Above all, a wonderful experience with amazing people who looked after us like family. If you are visiting Barcelona you will find no better place to stay!
