Comfortable, attractive apartment, budget category, located in a historic cobbled "mews" street in beautiful Bloomsbury, with shops nearby.

Right in the centre of London, you can walk to the main tourist sites: Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, London Eye, and Covent Garden. Theatreland, British Museum and UCL are very close.

It's extremely easy to reach from Heathrow, Gatwick, or St Pancras (Eurostar) and there's a Tube station just two minutes away.

The space

This is a spacious apartment, absolutely perfect for large groups and families.

There are three bedrooms. The Red Room has a kingsize bed, the Cream Room has a double bed and the Blue Room has two single beds ( which can be arranged as a super kingsize on request).

We can provide up to two folding beds ( suitable for children or small adults under 120 lbs) for the 7th or 8th guest for a small fee. We can put one folding bed in the Blue Room to make three singles, and the other fits nicely in the Cream Room with the double bed.

There is also a large sitting room with TV, a well equipped kitchen , and two shower rooms. We provide soft Egyptian cotton towels for each guest.
Access is up one flight of stairs and then the apartment is all on one level.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not allow parties or any social gatherings which may cause noise for our neighbours.

Guest access

The whole apartment is yours and you have your own front door. We usually meet arrivals so that we can show them how the apartment works, and also provide advice about London. Bagdrop is normally anytime after 11am but we may be able to arrange an earlier bagdrop, or even full access, depending upon the departure time of previous guests. Full access after cleaning is normally from 2pm onwards. Late arrivals after 7pm will be provided with keybox instructions so that they can gain access for themselves.

Location is great, tube station is about 2 mins walk away. Very central. The accommodation itself is great. 3 large bedrooms. 2 good bathrooms. the common is is great for relaxing. Wifi is great and the TV is good. Would definitely stay here again. The host met us upon arrival and was extremely friendly, showed us around the place and made us feel very relaxed.

Such a great find! A lovely little mews apartment with everything you need. We came with our 4 year old son and the place was great for him with being really close to shops, cafe, two parks (with squirrels) and tube station. Also was incredibly quiet for a London stay. Only comment is with children who are under 3 might find the stairs too challenging.

Many thanks for this lovely recommendation and it was a pleasure to host you. Yes, the location is fantastic for tourists as it's so central and close to shops, parks, and the Tube station. "Beautiful Bloomsbury" is known for its parks and green spaces. I don't really agree about the stairs, in fact I was a bit puzzled as it's just one set of easy stairs at the entrance and then the apartment is all on one level which I think is perfect for small children......? We've had lots of families with babies and toddlers who have loved the apartment ( we can provide a cot and high chair and there's a space to put a buggy). There are very few apartments in central London with no stairs!

Overall, we had a great stay - the apartment is just as described and we had a very happy week there. It is a good price, central, secure, and in a mostly quiet street (see comment below). It is also very well-positioned (tube station and shopping are both 3-4 minutes walk away). We appreciated Jan's very speedy communication. On arrival, Jan was there to meet us and explained that the apartment had two issues - one caused by the prior occupant (which was fixed the following day by a plumber, and not a problem anyway given that there were two toilets) and one with the internet (also not a problem, as Jan had arranged for us to use next door's internet). Jan also gave us a cake and a bottle of prosecco to apologise, which was really not necessary, but was a very nice touch. We also very much appreciated Jan's flexibility in allowing us to leave our suitcases in the apartment for a few extra hours on our last day, so that we could do a little last-minute sightseeing without our suitcases in tow. There were a couple of things which I think could be improved. These were not material for us, but to provide a balanced review I should mention them: (1) a washing machine / dryer is in the apartment, but we found it very difficult to use. We found the instructions for it on the internet, and that helped us do some washing, but we simply couldn't figure out how to get the dryer working - we ended up repeatedly rinsing things instead! We could dry our things on the drying rack provided, but future guests might appreciate some straightforward instructions on how to make it work. (2) there are large rubbish bins several metres away from the apartment, and the cafe/restaurant at the end of the street empties its rubbish into them, at about 6.40am, two or three mornings a week. This involved quite a bit of banging, crunching, and talking, and was pretty annoying. This would affect two of the three bedrooms (which face the street) but not the third bedroom. It would go for about 15 minutes. This is London and some noise is to be expected, but this was an otherwise very quiet street with no traffic at all, and the apartment instructions left us in no doubt that consideration was expected (due to hospital staff on night shifts sleeping during the day). It seems that the cafe staff are the only ones breaking the street's rules, as otherwise it is a very quiet street. Probably a chat with the cafe owner, or some double-glazing, would fix this - and it was only an annoyance rather than a major problem. All up - a great place to stay, and we'd be happy to stay there again.

Many thanks for this extremely long and detailed review. It's worth pointing out that this is a budget category apartment and represents fantastic value for a stay in the very centre of London, in the upmarket area of Bloomsbury. Even though it is in the budget category, we put a lot of effort to keep standards very high. As you know, the shower was scheduled to be re-tiled after you left, and this has now been completed. I'm surprised you had trouble with the washing machine as it is a very straightforward item with the icons and instructions on the front of the machine. We haven't had any similar feedback from other guests and I know it gets lots of use. So I will check it to make sure it is working normally. I will have a word with the cafe owner. He normally deals with his rubbish at the end of the afternoon when he closes, but it may be he was on holiday and someone else was running the cafe while you were there. Many thanks.

This apartment was perfect for our family trip to London. The three bedrooms and two bathrooms were clean and comfortable and the living room and kitchen had everything we needed. The location was so close to the underground it made getting around so easy. We were so pleased to have booked this home.

Thanks for this review. We have only just started advertising with Airbnb so it's really helpful that future guests can read what is great about this apartment - that it's fantastically located right in the centre and just around the corner from a good Tube ( Underground) station which is on the direct line from Heathrow and also very easy from Gatwick. Plus if you take the Eurostar train it's a simple ten minute walk from St Pancras International station. It was a pleasure to welcome you to London.

I am now semi-retired but used to run a market research company. I can't get used to doing nothing(!) so because I love London I now enjoy organising the rentals and meeting guests from all over the world. Also we are lucky enough to have a beautiful house on a Croatian island so we enjoy organising the rentals for that.
