If you are looking for a special place to relax and enjoy the nature of the true Tuscan countryside, you are in the right place.
Why is our offer so special? The reason is that a stay at the “Casale di Piero” is a unique and unforgettable experience. You will be surrounded by the nature of one of the world’s most beautiful areas, enjoying a quiet place while still being just a few miles from the magnificent medieval city of Arezzo.

The space

The Casale di Piero is a magnificent 13th-century Villa and its big main structure can comfortably accommodate groups of up to 10 people ( the total surface area is 450m2 on 3 levels). The Villa has high-end curated interiors and all facilities, with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (one with a Jacuzzi), an open space kitchen, a big laundry room, 4 living rooms and 2 chimneys.Situated at the third floor, a beautiful attic offers a playroom, a professional pool game, a card table, several board games, a sitting room with a flat-screen TV and wi-fi (URL HIDDEN) of the best parts of the Villa is definitely the exterior. The house is located in a beautiful 7.000m2 nature reserve (fully fenced) with an authentic wood and a big private pool, a decorated porch, a garden with a terrace which has a breathtaking panoramic view over the city of Arezzo.Besides the main building, the Villa is composed of other external structures such as a space dedicated to the pool (with a locker room, indoor and outdoor showers) and an outbuilding adjacent to the house with a fully equipped kitchen, a wood-fired oven and a barbecue, perfect for outdoor lunch and dinner.

Interaction with guests

In the large garden lived "sushi" an old dog very very good, now mascot of the house, if you have trouble keeping it in the garden during your stay, please contact us before booking.

Other things to note

The Villa was owned by the famous family of the Tarlati (Guido Tarlati from Pietramala was bishop of Arezzo and Lord of the city during the year 1327).The bathroom situated at the first floor (the red and black one) has a rare Teuco Jacuzzi that has been part of an exhibition at the Moma of New York.In the attic, you can find a rare and curious “frog” collection made of 1500 different pieces.During the summer you can enjoy the sweetest figs, cherries and a type of plums called “coscie di monaca”, , by picking them directly from the trees. During the month of October, it is possible to take part in the olive harvest (and receive as a gift a bottle of freshly made oil). In the winter months, the private wood becomes the perfect place for excursions to gather mushrooms or take part in the chestnut harvest. The house is located at the bottom of the road that takes to the hill “Alpe di Poti”, a famous itinerary known to Rally lovers (here used to take place one of the stops of the Sanremo Rally), cycling lovers (the Giro D’Italia recently went through here), and is also the place where other car and bike races take place. In the 90s, the main living room has been used for dinners to which 5 world rally champions participated (Sainz, Kankkunen, Auriol, Biasion, McRae) and many other international crews.

We were two families with 5 kids at the age of 8 to 13 years in a very hot periode of July. The house CASALE DI PIERO with its huge garden, olive yard and big pool was a fantastic quiet place for a really relaxing holiday. The house is perfectly equipped and has so much personality. After one week we still found little objects that we had not discovered before. Under the old trees on the terrace, in the house with the very thick walls and of course in the pool we could not feel the high temperatures. As the house is situated above Arezzo on the hill you always have a breeze of wind and a fantastic view over the city. The sleeping rooms under the roof have got an air condition. The kids did not want to leave the house for excursions or exploring the city, because they enjoyed their time in complete privacy so much. We loved the very calm and friendly dog Sushi who lives in the garden and guards the house. We met the owners in the beginning and the end of the trip and they were very friendly and understanding (because our youngest broke an object). Thank you for everything!!! Everything was clean, the pool was even cleaned every morning and the rest of the time you are completely on your own. Arezzo is a beautiful smaller city and so many interesting places of Tuscany are not far away. For our kids the visit of bagni di San Filippo was the highlight of the trip. You can take a bath in natural hot spring water -it looks like a small Pamukkale. We loved our stay in San Polo and can highly recommend it to all Tuscany-visitors. It is a very special place!!!
