This lovely 2BR house lets you relax and enjoy a green oasis of trees and wildlife at your doorstep. The house is connected via bifold doors to a large covered deck, facing the creek, equipped with BBQ, outdoor lights and seating for up to 8 people.

The space

"Beach-rustic" is my design term for this cosy and private holiday home finished on April 1st 2016. With a wrap around walkway to a large private entertainment deck you find yourself in a garden of Mulberry trees and lushness adjacent to the Burnt Bridge Creek. The open plan kitchen/living and two identical sized bed rooms flow together on lime washed bamboo floors. Both bedrooms have build-ins and night tables and "Bedroom East" has a queen bed and ceiling fan, "Bedroom West" has a bunk bed and a single bed and are you needing more sleeping spaces then we will arrange bedlinen for our sofa bed which allows 1-2 guests to sleep in the living room. Is cooking your thing? pinch your herbs from the herbal garden and entertain your family with a 'barbie', the Australian word for BBQ. The kitchen is well stocked also for baking, steaming, chopping etc. and the open plan kitchen and living area continues through the bifold doors onto a 30sqm covered deck overlooking the Burnt Bridge Creek. In the garden there is seating and lots of space to move around all the way down to the rocks down by the creek. This is a gem for nature lovers or people seeking quiet living near buzzing Manly.

Guest access

The private land where this 2BR house sits will be yours to explore from the wooden walkway along the mulch paths that the house sits within and down to the creek, a total of about 450 sqm. Our boy's territory is the little green cubby house by the Jacaranda... for your own sake, and your kids', please stay clear of this area as it has no safety regulations ;0)
Street parking is free and you are also welcome to park in our drive way - I'll explain when you get here.

Interaction with guests

We live in the first house from the road, approachable if you've got questions about walks, activities or bus-times etc. We are easy going and usually swishing in and out during the day with our three active boys.

Other things to note

We have 5 egg-laying chickens and two guinea pigs. The chooks free-range from time to time so you might see them down by Mini Denmark too. The eggs are 'out of this world' and if the timing is right we are happy to share a few!

Lovely little escape from the world here in Sydney. Ulla's little hideaway is tucked away right at the back of her house and has everything you could want in a getaway - complete with a creek running past the end of the house. Our 2 children (6 and 10) couldn't get enough of the wildlife and spent as long as we would let them mucking about down there. The little house itself was very nice, with everything thought of and provided. The only thing missing was the ironing board but that really IS niggling!! Thanks for lovely place Ulla. We will return and stay again (if you'll have us). Sara and the boys.

Excellent month long stay at Little Denmark, Ulla was warm and welcoming and the unit was very well equipt. Ulla was on hand if needed but it's also very private. Excellent for little ones, our boys have loved the chickens and baby bush turkeys!! Thank you for a wonderful stay x

We stayed for three weeks in May-June 2016, two adults+two kids, and had great time. The house is lovely, new and clean, set back from the road with private back garden overlooking a creek. The street is very green and quiet but close to public transport to the city. Also a short walk from Manly Dam and a short drive to shopping mall and beaches. Hosts are friendly and accommodating. Would totally recommend this place to friends, family and other AirBnb guests. Thank you Ulla!

This is a wonderful cottage built in the owners' backyard. Very private, well equipped, lovely outlook, clean, quiet, in a family-friendly area. Walk to bus stop. 5 minute drive to Manly. Worked well for our family of 5.

Ulla was a marvelous host, nothing was any trouble and we had a lovely stress free break. She was very accommodating with check in & check out. This was a perfect place for our family (with two small children) and was very close to public transport and local shops. We loved being so close to nature and seeing the kookaburras, brush turkeys and even bats everyday! The house was clean and well equipped and it was great to have Wi-Fi available. There were even toys left out for our little ones to play with and a cot , high chair and small table & chairs were also provided. All in all a wonderful break away, highly recommended

Mini Denmark is an enchanting cottage set at the bottom of a lovely garden with lots of herbs and looking upon a little forest and creek. It has a lovely verandah from where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful scene. It is cosy and well set up with a well equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom and washing machine. It rained all of our stay - and yet we felt quite happy anyway because the setting is so sweet! Ulla is a lovely, thoughtful host with excellent communication regarding any enquiries. Thanks Ulla and family! :)

We are an International family of two adults and three children born in four different countries: Germany, Australia, Japan and Denmark. Hence we travel a fair bit to keep up with languages and being with our families as far spread as Florida, Germany and Denmark. We are quite active and love the beach life style.
