The space

I will meet you on arrival at bus stop if arriving on foot or at door if by car. My bohemian, older-style house is split-level, has large airy, light-filled rooms. The large open lounge room has 3 lounges and a kitchen, big windows look onto bushland. All kitchen essentials supplied, towels, bed linen and bedding supplied. Front loader washing machine is in laundry and washing line is outside.

You share the entire house with local owner and other international guests &/or mature aged masters students. Breakfast on small veranda with birdsong and native animals, overlooking bushland or take a 12-20 minute walk through native bush and mangroves to waterfront and BBQ's or a 10 mins stroll to Lane Cove River, city views and ferry to city (M-F only).

I am a supportive host who can provide local knowledge of special attractions and Sydney festivals, venues etc.

The area is unique to Sydney, only 20 minutes by bus from the city, and is surrounded by water and bushland on all sides. So close to Sydney's attractions, yet birdsong wakes you each day, native animals visit.
A 15 -20 mins walk or 5 mins. bus ride to Lane Cove, with its many cafes, outdoor dining, 2 lge. supermarkets and the Longueville pub. A 3 minute walk through bush to the busstop is a great way to start the day. Tennis courts, sailing clubs, ovals and waterfront parks are 5-10 mins walk away. Balmoral Beach (Mosman) is the closest beach and is 2 short bus trips away or 15 mins by car. Reach other beaches by bus or from St Leonards train station.

Street parking. 5 mins walk to buses; 20 mins by bus to city ( 253 & 261) and 254 bus to North Sydney train station. 10 mins walk to ferry to city (M-F only) See Matilda ferry service. Bus to City passes St Leonards & North Sydney train station OR catch Express bus via freeway. Lots of buses to/from Macquarie Uni. each day (Time to Mac.Uni is 40-50 mins.).

We love music so you are free to use the guitar, play music, watch TV and generally relax as you prefer.

Guest access
All guests must share the common rooms and cooking space with others, so respectful cooperation is the way, there is plenty of room.

Other things to note
No smoking in or near the house. Ever. Guests are expected to reduce waste by using recycling bins, reusable shopping bags and be water & energy conscious (3-4 mins showers). Long stay guests must share cleaning of communal areas in turn. We are
friendly & conscious of others need to sleep. Friends/ family can stay over occasionally.

This is one of the most beautiful and safest neighbourhoods in Sydney. A short stroll to the waterfront, views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and ferries to the city (M-F only). But you must understand the Australian garden and bush are home to wildlife as well as insects, naturally!
