We're nestled in the foothills of Victoria’s beautiful Strezlecki Ranges, on our own hill. Peaceful and private accommodation for groups of up to 40. We never mix groups here - you have the whole place to yourself for the duration of your stay.

The space

Primarily used as a Retreat venue, we host gatherings, workshops and retreats.
'Absolutely peaceful'
'Has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world'
'The energy here is amazing'
Not my words - these are quotes from retreat guests.

Guest access

A couple of acres of private garden and recreation spaces.
Large saltwater swimming pool.
Undercover BBQ area with open fire.
Mongolian Yurt (sleeps 4), gypsy wagon (sleeps 4) and Swaggies Hut (sleeps 5) also available for separate hire.
Commando course.
Working farm with horses, sheep, cattle, goats, lots of chooks and two emus. You can visit unstocked farm paddocks unescorted, or all paddocks of the 40 acres of farm escorted (we insist on escorting you to paddocks with stock in them to reduce stress to the animals and to keep you safe).
Wombats, echidnas, wallabies, rosellas, cockatoos, galahs, kookaburras, magpies, boobook owls, wedgetail eagles and king parrots are frequent visitors. A pair of blue-tongue lizards live in the compost heap.

Interaction with guests

Absolutely available to help you with queries, walk around the farm with you, or join you for a drink around the BBQ. Absolutely happy to stay away from you and let you enjoy the space in privacy.

Other things to note

There's supermarkets and food stores in the neighbouring towns (10 minutes away), and you can buy seasonal produce from our chemical-free gardens. Or ask us to cater for you (price ranges from $30-$60 per person per day). Annie is a competent 'country cook', not a chef, so it's homecooked meals you can expect to enjoy.

House Rules
Not suitable for pets
Check in is anytime after 3PM

Please act at all times with commonsense and respect towards the property, the animals that live there, and the surroundings that nature provides.
That doesn't mean you can't stay up all night telling tall tales around the campfire. Plenty do!
Or make a bit of noise. Plenty do! Though noise that reaches the neighbours is not OK. Music needs to be turned down and taken inside at midnight.
Having lots of fun is absolutely fine. As long as you understand that you are not welcome to harm anyone or anything on the property though idiotic behaviour.
We can't serve alcohol, but of course you're welcome to bring your own. Beer bongs and other implements designed to get you ridiculously drunk are not welcome here.
Smoking is fine in designated outdoor (undercover) areas.
Sorry but we can't allow pets on a working farm.
We're not suitable for large groups of children unless you have plenty of adults on board. So please talk to us about your group before booking.

You must also acknowledge
Pet(s) live on property - Very friendly Kelpie dogs Flash and Xena will want to hang out with you. But you can ask me to banish them if you'd rather not interact with them.

We would not have stayed there, a 2 hour drive that we had to hire a bus for, had we known that there were none of the features you advertised. So much false advertising. All of the amazing things that you said were your property's FEATURES simply didn't exist. In your airbnb listing, you speak of the covered wagon, the tipi, the obstacle course and the mini-golf course. The retreat I ran had all of those facilities incorporated in the agenda, yet you said that none were available. The tipi was deconstructed, and the covered wagon was locked and we were told no children could go in it because of their muddy feet. Both the tipi and the covered wagon were said to “sleep 4” in your ad and there was NO mention of ‘adults only’. You told us that the obstacle course had been demolished & that the min-golf course had been taken out. The kids were so disappointed that the things they were looking forward to were not available. Later you said that the obstacle course HAD NOT BEEN demolished after all ?! and you said you had to get a farmer to move his sheep that were grazing in that paddock. I was upset at the dishonesty. The kids were shocked that an adult would lie like that. The listing is full of false advertising and is very misleading. In addition, there was NO HOT WATER in the showers - you told me we needed to run the taps in the basins for a few minutes and that would bring the hot water in, but that didn’t work. So none of us had showers for the entire weekend. In addition, the pool table was broken as it didn’t release the balls once they were pocketed. There were tons of spiderwebs and dust on all of the items hanging on the walls - which didn't matter with a group of kids but I would never take a group of adults there. I see that you've started to update your listing to account for the huge changes in facilities on your property. You clearly acknowledge its inaccuracy - so why are you unwilling to admit that to me? All I've heard are excuses and that we don't deserve a partial refund because, as you say, "Your group were offered (and enjoyed) substitute activities such as lamb feeding and chook feeding." Those activities are what YOU SAID all guests get - and however lovely they may be, they certainly wouldn't substitute for a mini-golf course, a tipi, an obstacle course and a covered wagon.

Hidden Hill is a gem of a property. Located a comfortable 90 minute drive from Melbourne, you enter a transcendental state once you arrive to the hill. Beautiful views and an abundance of wildlife great you as you wake up to the rising of the sun. The Shed was so homey, with a pool table and table tennis table providing ample entertainment to our attendees. The kitchen was perfect for our caterer and the rooms slept all our participants. Annie was bright bubbly and easy to deal with. White Nite wouldn't have been the success it was without her help

Response from Annie:
It was so much fun to host you and your White Niters Oliver. I loved the festival atmosphere and your decorations around the grounds. Your attendees were incredibly respectful of the property and the residents (wild and domesticated) and I really appreciated that. You brought a really fun energy to the place and I'd be happy to host you again. Thanks for your lovely feedback too. Annie

A great place for a family or a group to stay. Plenty of room for children to play or swim in the pool. Helping feed the chooks was a highlight for our grandchildren they had a great time. Annie was a great host and made us feel very welcome.
