This is a lovely house just outside the old city walls of Avignon, about a 3-5 minute walk from the Avignon Center train station, and bus terminal. It's about a 7 minute walk to the old town wall, and a 15 minute walk to the pont du gard/pope palace/cathedral area. It's in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. You cannot hear train or bus noise at all, not one bit! The house is so spacious! There is a first floor, that has the summer kitchen, patio, three bedrooms (two with a double bed, one with a small twin size/child bed), shower/sink room, and toilet room. Then there is a foyer with a staircase up to the top floor. The top floor has a dining area, sitting area, and kitchen, and a master bedroom (queen size bed) with a bathroom attached that has a shower, separate bathtub, and sink. There is a toilet room off the dining area. We had plenty of dishes, pots, pans, and glasses, and a corkscrew for our wine! The hostess left us a lovely bottle of wine and jar of apricot jam too, which was very nice. We did not cook at all, but it would be easy to cook here! The hostess provided two bath towels per guest, linens, a small amount of toilet paper, napkins, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and body wash. We had to buy hand soap/bar soap for the sinks, more toilet paper, and paper towels. The home was just perfect for three women traveling together, we each had our own bedroom! Two bathrooms meant no one had to rush through their shower in the morning. Everything was walkable. It was a very pleasant stay! There were only three things that made it one tiny bit less than perfect. One is that the bottom floor smelled a bit musty to me. Two is that the doors in the house are difficult to open/close/latch. I think this is probably common to older, European homes, but it is something Americans who are used to newly built homes must get used to. Three is that the door we were supposed to go in and out of was very difficult for all three of us to lock and unlock. Finally after two days, we figured out the tricks (you have to hold the handle at precise locations when you lock, and another location when you unlock, to get it to work). I suggest that the hostess practice several times with the guests to lock/unlock, because we three educated women had a real problem with this one!!! :)

Meet us at door on arrival with a bottle of wine and home made jam. She also came to see us off which we appreciated.

We loved that the location was so close to the rail and bus station, making it so easy to visit other towns. There was no noise at the house from either, in fact the neighborhood was very quiet. Also the town wall was only a 5 minute walk. Corinne was very friendly and informative both in emails and text before we arrived and when we got there.

The apartment was in a fantastic location. I would advise confirming exactly what time you are picking up keys via email a few days before as had a few difficulties as we had no internet/phone when we arrived in France. The place was perfect for us, everything you need, a great lounge/dining room upstairs and lovely outdoor front patio. The place is very clean. Highly recommended.
