About this listing
Sunny, classic, Brooklyn railroad apartment on a beautiful block in Park Slope. This top floor apartment has the character it inherited over many years. Comfortable and full of the residents' original artwork, you'll feel immediately at home.
The apartment has lots of charm, which can be short hand for small and old, but in this case it really does. It is old, but it's spacious for a NYC one bedroom, and the building and layout couldn't be more typical of the city, with the exception that this apartment has lots of light, something that many can't say here. There's a comfortable queen size bed, a real kitchen, and lots of the resident's own artwork to make it feel like a home.
There is a small room adjacent to the bedroom which can be used as work space if needed. The living room is small but has everything you need with a sofa, coffee table and TV. The kitchen is quite roomy with north exposed windows and has a table with chairs you can comfortably eat your breakfast.
The apartment is all yours. There's a fire escape that may tempt you but please refrain as it's small and unsafe. Only use it in case of emergency.
Interaction with guests
We'll be here to let you in, explain the apartment, and answer any questions you have about the neighborhood. We'll have an arrangement for you to drop your keys off when you leave.
Other things to note
The apartment is old and has it's quirks, but nothing that should adversely affect your stay. The radiators rattle a little, the sink makes some odd noises, the floors and walls are all at an odd angle, but that's life in a 100+ year old New York City building, and we'll be here to explain them on day one. It is also on the top floor of a 4 floor walkup. This means more light and no one running around above you, but you'll get your exercise going up and down.
This is our home and the home of our neighbors. The building is showing it's age but everyone is quiet and respectful, and we expect our guests to be too. No smoking in the apartment or on the fire escape. Otherwise make yourself at home. We will provide you with some drawers and some space in the closet as well as clean towels and bed sheets for your stay. You can also use what ever you need in the kitchen, minus any food, if you prefer to cook in the apartment. All we ask is that you water our plants a couple times during your stay. There's only a few, but they won't survive two weeks. We'll leave some instructions for them...nothing complicated, just to make things easy.
