The Beach house is really lovely and beautifully finished inside. It's situated in a little jungle garden in a great location pretty much on the beach, (it's about a 30 second walk down a little path) which is beautiful and peaceful. Opposite the property are a number of really nice restaurants, a food store and a place you can rent bikes. It's also pretty close to a variety of other amazing beaches including a few that are good for surfing and about a 10 minute drive to Puerto Viejo town. Marie and Gerome were lovely and had left us out snacks, wine and fresh fruit, when we arrived. The house also has a big well stocked kitchen with a juicer which was really useful!

This is the real deal, a genuine Carribbean beach shack that sits on land that holds history and intrigue within a community of wonderful people and friendly locals. Nestled beautifully in lush grounds with wildlife in abundance, Casa Pura is one of those rare slices of heaven that I was fortunate enough to stumble upon. The cabin effortlessly captures the authentic patina of Costa Rica, yet combines it with a spec that provides life's little luxuries. Lovely clean new bathroom with warm water if you need it (I didn't, I'm English, I needed to cool down) .. I had enough cushions to build myself a fort should I so wished, the linen was premium and the bed incredibly comfortable .. wifi is excellent .. the kitchen is great and has everything you need, there's even a blender so you can turn the coconuts growing in your garden into delicious smoothies. Playa Chiquita, the most wonderful quiet beach is just a 30 second walk from your door. Jerome and Marie are wonderful hosts, I arrived at night and they had lit all the candles on the porch to welcome me .. it was so pretty, the care and the attention to detail was wonderful. They are very helpful in every way and always there when necessary to provide help and guidance. If you want a genuine experience and simplicity in paradise then you've found it. There aren't enough words to describe just how magical this place really is. I came for four nights and stayed for ten .. it really is that beautiful.

My partner and I loved everything about Marie's place. From the beautiful decorative details, to the excellent location near the beach. It was far enough away from the busy scene at Puerto Viejo, but close enough to walk to a nearby grocery store, or take a quick drive to town for a change of pace. We came here to be off the grid and that's exactly what we got (not even cell service was to be found here). Francesca was kind and greeted us on the main road on our arrival to Playa Chiquita. We had a few unpleasant run-ins with the neighbour's dog in the evenings when walking back to the house, but Francesca told us they were planning to relocate him. The kitchen actually has a seperate entrance which can be accessed from outside the house, but this wasn't a bother to us (except on those rainy nights), and we realized probably kept insects at bay which was appreciated. The beach is not far, and very beautiful. Be mindful of the rip tide! Everyone warns you, but nothing prepares you for it. On our second day there, I was pulled in and my partner had to swim out and rescue me. The waves are not always as fun and playful as they look, so stay real close to shore if you're not a very strong swimmer. We spent a lot of time on the porch. It would have been nice to have a sun lit place to sit in the garden though, as the porch is well covered, and the garden is very beautiful. Aside from that, we were very comfortable here. The bed was perfect, the water was never an issue thanks to the back up well, and by just being mindful of our usage. We really appreciated the jug of filtered water and all the delicious treats and wine that was left for us! We really hope to come back to this house some day. It gave us the peace and quiet we were looking for, while offering a rustic, romantic sanctuary for me and my partner.

Marie was very very nice and kept in contact over email. Great welcoming with fresh fruits and snacks. We were welcomed by Francesca and were in contact throughout our stay. Unfortunately we had some water problems: we only had full pressure 3 hrs a day (2 to 5 pm) due to gov. Regulation, and for the rest of the day the water was coming from a well, but it was barely enough to flush the toilet. For a whole day we had no water whatsoever; the next day Franceaca had it repaired and told us to use an external tank when we needed water. Another issue is the number of dogs roaming in the property. We love dogs but it is not pleasant when you come back at night in the dark and 2-3 dogs come running towards you. We had no issue with them and no incident but they should be kept more at bay, especially at night. The place is lovely, 1 min walking to the beach, and you can enjoy nature from your porch. The neighbours were truly nice and friendly Overall it was a very nice stay

We had a lovely stay at Marie's place. It is set in a very picturesque garden, very close to the beach, and a comfortable bike ride in to town. Marie was very helpful with advice leading up to our stay and our neighbour Francesca was always there for anything we needed during the stay. There was the occasional issue with the wifi or the water but it was always solved very quickly. We would definitely recommend staying there!

Marie´s place is super cute. The porch is bigger than it looks on the pictures and we enjoyed being only a 3 minute walk away from the beach from. The garden was very scenic and well groomed and frequented by lots of toucans, humming birds and butterflies in the garden we saw spider and howler monkeys and sloths close by.
