About this listing

The space

We live in a little village in a beautiful part of the French Pyrenees. Our home is comfortable, spacious and elegant, surrounded by wonderful countryside ideal for hiking and cycling. Indeed, the Tour de France usually passes beneath your bedroom windows. We are well situated on the Chemin de Saint Jacques with many other footpaths radiating from our front door. The river running through the village is well stocked with trout and we are more than happy to organize a fishing permit if you wish to catch your supper.

We are offering a pretty room with guest bathroom and tea making facilities. When you rise we provide the perfect continental breakfast of coffee, croissants, toast and homemade jams, although if you prefer a more hearty hikers breakfast then that can be arranged.

We are fortunate that the village has two small shops, a bar and restaurant. Also, we are keen cooks and can offer a delicious evening meal for 25€ per person (four courses, carafe of wine and coffee), although of course there are several good restaurants in the area.

The bathroom is stocked with fluffy towels, slippers, shower gel and locally produced soap. We also offer a 'book swap shelf' so you can update your holiday reading.

We love our home and village and are certain that you will too.

Guest access

Guests are free to use the kitchen for preparation of snacks and drinks. The drawing room is a lovely spot for a quiet read, and if the evening is chilly you can sit in front of the open fire, but most people prefer to sit in the sunny garden for as long as possible.

Interaction with guests

We generally play it by ear as to interaction. You are free to come and go as you like. If you stay for dinner then you can either choose to eat with us or just enjoy a quiet meal in our elegant dining room. If it's a special occasion let us know.

Other things to note

Please note that we are not Saint Lary-Soulan, so there are no nightclubs and few shopping opportunities. We do occasionally get confused skiers wandering around.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time staying with Patrick and Bryan. Comfortable room, beautiful location and excellent walking in the area. Dinner cooked by Patrick and Bryan was very tasty, with excellent food and great company. We started with aperitifs in the garden then continued with a four course spectacle including cheeses from the local area. We wish we could have stayed longer!

A complete delight! Saint-Lary is a beautiful village very well situated in the mountains. Bryan and Patrick were extremely welcoming and kind hosts. They offered us excellent advice on how to enjoy our stay in the area by recommending a day hike complete with lunch in the neighboring town and beautiful views. Dinner was delicious and the conversation was lively--I highly recommend it! The room was beautiful--as was the rest of the house. Don't pass up the opportunity to stay here.

A beautiful country style house in a tiny village up in the mountains with two wonderfully welcoming and helpful hosts. Everything was just perfect. Wish we would have stayed longer.

What an amazing evening we had. We were made to feel very welcome and Patrick and Brian made us feel relaxed and welcome. The house is easy to find and utterly delightful. Our room was perfect and very French. The bed and bedding were pure heaven. We ate dinner together ......lots! Much of it was local and fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend a visit.

Wow - Patrick and Bryan are by far the best airbnb hosts I've encountered. I felt completely pampered for the week I was in their care - their home is beautifully decorated/renovated and very comfortable, the meals were delicious, and it was an absolute pleasure getting to know them. They know the area extremely well and helped me find excellent hikes/walks and other activities. The town of St. Lary has a special and authentic charm that I hadn't experienced before and the surrounding mountains are stunning. Thank you Patrick and Bryan!

If you get an opportunity to stay here then take it! Patrick and Bryan are the most welcoming hosts you could wish for and their home is delightful. The guest accommodation is excellent, the food first class and the whole place feels comfortable bright and easy. Delicious breakfasts and likewise an evening meal if you want one. I can’t thank them enough for making my stay so enjoyable, they were the perfect hosts both personally and in the sharing of their home. Thanks David
