Julie's guest house accommodations were perfect! Exactly as described and pictured (beautifully designed & architecturally interesting). Comfortable, quiet, well equipped and centrally located to Santa Monica and Venice Beach. We extended our stay an extra week because we enjoyed being there so much! Bonus points for easy parking, laundry access and more importantly....Nespresso. Ideal for 2 adults. Will definitely book again in the future. Thank you!
This house is gorgeous -- the images are spot on! It's a beautiful walk down the hill to Main Street where there's tons of shops and restaurants, and then a few blocks further to the beach. It's also a short drive down to Venice and the fact that parking is included here was an enormous bonus! The house itself is modern and very well-equipped, we wanted for nothing. Plus the master bed is comfy. The backyard is private while the front courtyard is shared, but both are lovely. The family are super sweet and helpful, as well. The only thing to know for families with young kids is that there's a lot of stairs. We were with our 1.5 yr old and it just took some extra monitoring, but wasn't a huge deal. They have a baby gate, but we were a bit too lazy to set it up for our short stay, so if you're staying for longer that's an easy fix!
Julie's place is wonderful! We were in Santa Monica for a few days with our 3 young children (6, 3 and 6 months) and Julie's house was perfect for us. We had lots of privacy, the house was beautiful and clean and had everything we could possibly need. We really enjoyed the outside space, it was lovely for the children to be able to be outside. Everything was close by and easy to get to. The ocean view from the rooftop is spectacular. I hope we can stay here again when we are next in town!
This guest house is tucked away for privacy but right on a residential street just blocks from the ocean, stores, everything. We really loved it and definitely felt 'at home' when we'd get back from our exploring. Kitchen is well-equipped; the stocked expresso machine was a very nice extra. There are plenty of places to read, eat, or, my favorite, take your newspaper up to the top deck and pretend to read but instead just stare at the ocean. We had a local relative helping us with restaurants but Julie has a very complete notebook of suggestions too.
This is a fantastic, very original space in which to stay. Julie and Thane live in the main house, and this is the guest house. We had not stayed in such a relation before and found it very congenial. We felt like very welcome guests sharing the property. We had our own private entry and were guaranteed full privacy, but Julie and Thane were super-helpful and available for any questions we had. The architecture is unique. We loved the rooftop, from which we had great views of the ocean and sunset. The kitchen was very practical, and we enjoyed cooking in it. The second bedroom is in a loft up a set of galley stairs. There is only one bathroom, so if you are more than 2 people there might be a line to use it! Overall, a wonderful, original guest house in an excellent location. We would definitely stay here again!
Julie is responsive while also allowing maximum privacy to guests. The place itself is amazing, and well worth the investment. It's close to everything while still being residential. The unique design allows for multiple views of the city and maximum privacy. One of the best places I've stayed in.
