The place is great. It is quiet and relaxing and is just steps from a short path to the beach. The deck has a bit of a view of the beach and you can hear the waves. This condo is located right off of I-64 as soon as you pass through the tunnel, so the location is great. This is a nice beach that is on the bay and you can see the Hampton Roads bridge.
This beach has a gentle surf, so it is great if you want to swim, float, or if you have small children. You can be in the water without fighting a tide and heavy waves. You won't be doing any surfing here.
The beach is clean, but is littered with small rocks, grasses, washed in sea plants. There is a cleaning vehicle that drives through regularly.
It is not as organized as down in VA Beach, but we really liked it since it was nice and quiet and we had the beach almost to ourselves, but it was Labor Day weekend and the week after. Even that Sunday and Labor Day, it was busy, but was still uncrowded. We were still able to drive down to VB and walk around on the boardwalk and look in shops and all that.
The condo is really nice and for two of us it was perfect. It it definitely better than a hotel. We were able to eat in for breakfast and lunch and hang out on the beach and then clean up and go out for dinner. You can cook and eat in to save expense since there are pots, pans, dishes, flatware, glasses, full refrigerator, ice maker, and coffee maker.
It has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom has new fixtures with a double vanity. The shower needs a little work for more pressure, but it works fine.
It was a great place and Greg is available to answer questions and see to needs. He is really nice and easy to reach. Check-in and Check-out is super easy and no headaches. Guests are asked to empty trash and strip linens, but that is more than reasonable to rent a condo. I have stayed in places that asked me to do more than that. I would rent again.
