The space

This spacious modern apartment is the perfect choice for friends or family with up to three persons who want both, to be in the heart of the city and at the same time have privacy. It is located in the centre of Athens, but its really quiet.. Perfect home base to explore Athens. Situated on the 4th floor (the building has an elevator). In this apartment, priority has been given to high standard interior design. Τhe spacious living room area includes an open plan and fully equipped modern kitchen, with Fridge/Freezer, cooker, electric kettle, cutlery and crockery, a comfortable lounge area, a modern sofa corner. There is a bar table with designer stool seating for two. Bedroom with a king size double bed and big capboard.There is a large window, that make all the areas bright, make staying at the apartment particulary pleasant.

The apartment is 5' walking distance from the most central metro station, Syntagma, and 3' from Monastiraki station (blue line, direct connection to the airport in 38').

The neighbourhood

The apartment is situated in the “heart” of the historical centre. Ermou str. (the city’s best-known commercial street) is the traditional commercial neighborhood, with more than 2,500 shops of all kinds. The western “border” of the area is Athinas Street, where the foodstuff commerce is concentrated, reminding one strongly of the Middle East. Here are situated, among others, the neoclassical mansions of the Town Hall, the Municipal Market (where meat, fish and vegetables are sold) and spacious Kotzias Square.

Ermou Street, is a one and a half kilometer-long road in central Athens, Greece, connecting Kerameikos archaeological site with the Syntagma Square through Monastiraki, Psiri and Thiseio.

It consists of three sections: The east (from Filellinon Street to Aiolou Street, app. 700m long) which is a pedestrian zone and the city's best-known and busiest shopping street, the middle (from Aiolou Street to Agion Asomaton str.) and the west (from Agion Asomaton to Peiraios Street) a pedestrian zone also.

With fashion shops and shopping centres promoting most international brands, it is in the top five most expensive shopping streets in Europe, and the tenth most expensive retail street in the world. Nearby, the renovated Army Fund building in Panepistimiou Street includes the "Attica" department store and several upmarket designer stores.

Continuing from Ermou str. you arrive at Monastiraki, a characteristic area of “old” Athens, with narrow streets and small buildings where the city’s traditional bazaar (Yousouroum) is held. Close to it is the Psyrri area, a traditional neighborhood which during the past few years has evolved into one of the most important “centres” of the town’s nightlife, with scores of bars, tavernas, ouzeris, clubs, etc.

One of the oldest churches in Athens, the Byzantine Church of Panaghia Kapnikarea is in a small square, on the east section of Ermou Street, and next to the apartment.

The western section of the road which was remodeled for the 2004 Olympic Games constitutes the ending of the Grand Promenade, the pedestrian walkway around the Acropolis, part of the city's Archaeological Unification Project.

The “core” of the historic centre, which is 10' walking distance form the apartment, is the Plaka neighborhood (at the eastern side of the Acropolis), which has been inhabited without interruption since antiquity. When you walk through the narrow labyrinthine streets lined with houses and mansions from the time of the Turkish occupation and the Neoclassical period (19th c.), you will have the impression of travelling with a “time machine”.

Guys I would totally recommend the flat! Everything was exactly as described! The location was in the centre of the centre, in a very popular area but totally soundproof! Haris was a wonderful host! I think this was value for money!!!

Soo much loved for the apartment, the apartment is exactly the same as the picture posted. Harris was super friendly and kind. He also offered we could stay longer on the day of the check out. The room is spacious for 2, the apartment is clean and soo convenience to walk around. Thanks again for the pleasant stay, will be back again definitely!

Harris was a wonderful host! He sent us detailed instructions including photos of how to get to the apartment. Location was perfect with many restaurants and shops. Harris gave us many recommendations for restaurants and things to see. The apartment was clean and well maintained - would stay there again!

There is no location more great than this nice apartment, it is on the heart of Ermou shopping road , the host was friendly and helpful .. But there is no Microwave, Oven, or kettel in the kitchen and this is the only one thing that makes the apartment lose a star .

The location of the apartment couldn't be more perfect, situated between two metro stations on the Blue Line and right on Ermou Street, the center of shopping district with lots of great restaurants, cafes, and bakeries. Even with all the hustle bustle outside, the inside of the apartment is quiet. The area is very safe, too. Everywhere is within walking distance and Acropolis is just 10-15 minutes walks away. The inside of the apartment is tastefully decorated. Both the bed and sofa are comfortable. Harris was very nice and accommodating. He sent us lots of useful information including the time table for the metro to the airport. Our Athens experience was enhanced by our stay at Harris and Sylvia's place.

If you are gonna travel Athens, this house is unmissable opportunity because of its great location, financial advantage and nice warm hospitality. Again and again thank you Sylvia... It was beyond our expectations.
