Fixing up this historical four-bedroom Tudor-style house from 1912. Moved from Brooklyn in 2015, in search of more space for less $. Renovations still in progress, but the place is quite livable and functional.

There's no a/c, but there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom, and windows with both northern and western exposure.

It was again a great experience to stay in that great house. This is a beautiful house, in calm aera. Near some interesting places and by bike is close to almost everything.

The place is as listed and I had a very comfortable stay. My arrival depended on Amtrak's ever changing train schedule but Jonathan was kind enough to accommodate a late check-in. He provided a list of restaurants and bars in Detroit with his own personal reviews added which is always helpful for those new to the city. You can also borrow a bike from him (subject to availability, there might be other guests) and explore Detroit. I saw more of the city than I would have otherwise. Overall, you have value for money as well as a host who is always up for a good conversation. Worth the stay.

Wonderful host who made me feel very welcome. Robe and slippers provided! Lovely house. Make sure you try his amazing latte and if your lucky he might play you a tune on his new piano!

Great coffee and wonderful host. I will be staying on for a few more days which speaks millions about Jonathan. I am a host on Airbnb in the UK. Love the house! Thanks mate!

I really enjoyed my stay at Jonathan's place. The house is just as described in the post, a really charming fixer-upper on a quiet residential street. The room is large, clean, and stays warm in the evenings. And Jonathan is a wonderfully gracious host - I flew in on Thanksgiving evening and he invited to join him and another guest for dinner, he made me an excellent latte the next day, and gave me a ride to Amtrak at 6 am - all well beyond my expectations for an Airbnb host, but so very appreciated. I definitely recommend staying at his place. It's way more affordable than the area hotels, and a short drive to Midtown and Dearborn (where I was visiting).

The host treated me like family. I loved my stay, and the the neighborhood was great, lots of historical homes, and a nice parks on the next block. Plus his home in near downtown Detroit, and minutes away from Motown. Jonathan home is a classic vintage old world charm home, that he is restoring to its original. I had a very great stay in Detroit, and what made it extra special, was Jonathan home, his hospitality, comfortable bed. I love it. I can tell he has pride in ownership.

Jonathan is an extremely kind host and a very gracious person. I got sick after arriving at his place and he took me to the hospital immediately. He also visited me several times there and brought me some of my belongings without me asking him to do this. He also came once only because my husband was worried about me so he passed me his phone to write back home. I was really overwhelmed by his care. It was also a very interesting person to talk to. I really enjoyed our discussions. It is important if you are alone in a foreign city to find in your host a pleasant person with whom you can share thoughts at the end of a busy day. It feels like home. His house is as he describes it, large and sumptuous but some parts of it currently under repair. He is very thoughtful to provide all the practicalities for a pleasant stay. His immediate neighborhood is lovely and very domestic with kids playing outside but if people do not drive should be more careful in the area.
