Description

The space

The house sits on a peaceful little avenue and opens onto a hallway with parquet flooring which leads to the front-facing kitchen towards the right. It is compact and nicely finished in turquoise tiling, furnished with a traditional oak chest and fitted with everything you might need including a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and large fridge freezer. Through towards the garden is an elegant living and dining area which is bathed in natural sunlight from picture windows. It has beautiful traditional style décor including an impressive grandfather clock and soft, ambient lighting with glass chandeliers. The sitting space, on one side of the room has leather sofas and armchairs as well as a wide-screen plasma TV connected to the Wi-Fi for entertainment. On the other side is an elegant dining area with an antique wooden table with comfortable seating for up to six guests. This gives access to a lovely private paved garden, lined with plants and with garden furniture for those sunny days when breakfast is better enjoyed al fresco!

The upper floor level of the house has wooden floors and three bedrooms. The master suite is spacious and has a King-sized bed, chest of drawers and a lovely dressing table by the window. Its en suite bathroom is fitted with a full-sized bathtub and an overhead shower. The second bedroom is a double, and the third is a small double, both with ample cupboard space and large windows looking over the garden. The shared bathroom has a high ceiling and also a full-sized bathtub and overhead shower.

The ground floor has a convenient washroom with WC, located off the hallway.

The neighbourhood

This property is not far from the Upper Richmond Road and Putney High Street which have an excellent choice of coffee shops and restaurants as well as some trendy cocktail bars! There is also a large cinema complex at the end of Putney High Street, within walking distance or reached by one of several buses along Putney Hill. Putney Heath provides a lovely, fresh open space to take a walk in the morning and leads to te green expanses of Wimbledon Common; however it is definitely also worth making a longer journey to reach the stunning expanse of Richmond Park. Walk through the back lanes or take the 170 bus from the heath and reach the park in less than 20 minutes! The Park is a national nature reserve and London’s largest Royal Park, spreading over 2000 acres. Its sheer vastness is a rarity in a busy, urban capital City, but what’s more it is home to herds of red and fallow deer, amongst other wildlife, which roam freely and are an incredible sight to see! Take a long walk or picnic in the grounds and you will feel as though you are in the rural countryside!

Getting around

From East Putney Station on the district line go south to Wimbledon for some tennis or north straight into London's centre to reach the bustling West End for the best shopping on Oxford Street and Regent's Street! From Putney Rail Station on the mainline go to Clapham Junction, which connects to Southern trains as well as the Overground, and will take you up to Kensington and further to Shepherd’s Bush for the huge Westfield Shopping Centre!
