Our Garden Hut sits at the bottom of our garden. It has a small double bed and gorgeous views of our thatched cottage. Located in the centre of the village, it is peaceful and tranquil.
Convenient for Cambridge (30 mins by car), exploring the beautiful countryside nearby, Wimpole Hall, IWM Duxford or for weddings at South Farm.
NB: The bed in the Hut is smaller than the average UK double (5'8 x 4'0 vs 6'3 x 4'6 ft / 173 x 122 vs 182 x 136 cms) and the WC is situated just inside the house.
The space
The Garden Hut is equipped with everything you need for a cosy glamping experience, with pretty gypsy caravan vibes next to our veg patch, 'mini orchard' and wildflower meadow. Small is beautiful!
Our Welcome basket includes a range of teas, ground coffee, fresh milk and biscuits or cake. The Hut contains a mini fridge and kettle as well as basic camp kitchen equipment and cooking utensils, including a Campingaz hob. You're welcome to use our BBQ upon request (see below), and at any time take a seat in any corner of the garden to listen to the birds, read or eat.
In the morning, sip your coffee in the privacy of the hut, on a lounger, or even while lying in the hammock. Alternatively, by prior arrangement, we will deliver a basket of breakfast items, including bread, croissants, orange juice, fresh fruit and yoghurt to you at a time of your choosing. Or, you can breakfast inside the house, in the comfort of our Garden Room, with a home-made breakfast prepared by us and served at our dining table (see below for more details and additional fees).
The hut is really well insulated with sheep's wool, keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter, but you can use the heater provided in the winter or if you prefer things warmer. There is no TV but fast, free Wi-Fi in the Garden Hut and inside the house. Please note we have a no smoking policy in the Hut and throughout the premises.
A basin for washing is provided in the Hut and you can collect your water from the garden tap using the jug provided. The bathroom is situated just inside the house - it features a wash basin, toilet and large walk-in shower. Just pop in when you need to use it. We provide complementary bath robes to protect your modesty when wandering to and from the house!
NB: The bed in the Hut is smaller than the average UK double (5'8 x 4'0 vs 6'3 x 4'6 ft / 173 x 122 vs 182 x 136 cms).
Guest access
As our guest you will not only be able to enjoy the charms of the Garden Hut, but also of our cottage garden, where you can sit and listen to the chatter of birdsong, catch the occasional pink sunset over the thatched roof of the house, or lie in the hammock of a Monday evening and listen to the bell-ringing practice in the village church. In winter, light a log fire in the brazier and keep cosy under blankets with hot drinks!
You'll also (of course!) have access at any time to the bathroom inside the house (about 15 metres away).
Should you opt for the Cottage Breakfast inside the house (for an additional charge), you will be warmly welcomed into the Garden Room, which is filled with books and overlooks the garden through a full wall of windows, with French doors opening onto the garden.
