The Pound House is a self contained two bedroom converted 19th Century barn in the idyllic, rural, and peaceful valley of Blagdon in South Devon.

Blagdon is nestled in a a beautiful South Devon Valley betwixt the moors and the sea with easy access to local attractions and tourist areas. Only 3 miles away from the English Riviera Coast and the historic town of Totnes, with its excellent range of independent shops and restaurants.

The space
The Pound House is a converted 19th century cider making barn accessed via a gravel pathway that leads past the paddocks, meadows and garden to a courtyard infront of the cottage. A stable door opens into an open plan family living area with high beamed ceiling and a log burner. The ground floor consists of a living/dining area with sofa, good size dining table and kitchen area. The kitchen area is well stocked with plates, glasses, crockery and cutlery. The kitchen has a Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, oven, toaster, fridge freezer, kettle, sink , dishwasher and washing machine.

Stairs lead up to the second floor which consists of a Master bedroom, twin bedroom and separate bathroom. The master bedroom with high beamed ceiling has everything you need for a comfortable stay including a king size bed, wardrobe and bedside tables. There is a stable door giving access to the gardens surrounding the cottage. The twin bedroom has two single beds, a chest of drawers, wardrobe and bedside table. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and sink.

The courtyard area at the front of the cottage has a outdoor table, seating and BBQ and is ideal for relaxing with a drink in the sun or al fresco dining.

The pool is open for guest use May-September from 10-5pm every day, except sundays. The pool may be open at other times upon request and dependant in the season.

Guest have access to a parking space for two cars on the lower driveway of the property behind the stables, which leads directly to the gravel pathway up to the cottage.

Guest access
Guests have access to all the Lower Gardens, paddocks, gardens ground to the front of the cottage. The pool area is open May-September, but maybe open earlier or later if weather permits. It is currently closed for the winter.

Other things to note
We do have a third twin bedroom , downstairs, with en-suite shower room that can accommodate another two guests. Available upon request. Perfect for extended generation family stays. Only available on a booking of 3 or more nights, with extra charge of £50 per night.

Situated in the small hamlet of Blagdon, located between Torbay and Totnes it's less than 3 miles from award winning sandy beaches in Paignton and fishing harbours in Brixham with great fish restaurants.

Nearby there are lots of National Trust properties to visit, the South West Coast Path to walk, visit the wildlife at Paignton zoo, take a steam train ride to the naval town of Dartmouth or have fun at various local family theme and water parks.

The historic town of Totnes, the River Dart and Dartington are only 4 miles away.

Whilst supermarkets are nearby our local farm shops provide lots of local produced supplies. Local pubs are a few miles up or down the road you will need a car for your stay.
