Family-friendly and perfectly placed for access to the A1 and M1, our Eco Lodges can sleep up to 6 people and are split into two separate rooms with a shared bathroom. Balconies to the rear provide seclusion and stunning views. Each lodge has a different layout for flexibility, the first is a double room with an adjoining living room, a disabled friendly lodge with 2 double bedrooms and shared wet room and our family lodge with 1 double and 1 twin; extra beds are available.

The space

If you're looking for a relaxing break, whether it is a walking break or just a leisurely getaway, the Clophill eco lodges are for you. Set in a woodland copse, half a mile up a private track, it is hard to believe you are only an hour away from central London. The site allows you to relax in peace, on your own private balcony or the central lawn with friends. The buzzards soaring above, barn owls nesting nearby, foxes and badgers wandering and even the cheeky squirrels bring a smile to your face as you watch them leaping between the oak trees adding to the site's ambience.

All our lodges are bright and airy with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the balconies, allowing you to enjoy the views no matter what the weather. With a maximum accommodation capacity of 8 guests across two lodges each with two bedrooms and shared bathrooms you can be confident your stay will be intimate and tailored to you. Our wardens are there to welcome and assist you with anything during your stay. They are able to explain about our activities on offer as well as the independent exploring options available locally.

Guest access

Our eco lodges are set in a horseshoe shape providing privacy on the balconies to the rear and communal living in the centre, with stunning views in both directions. Each lodge can accommodate four people and is split into two separate sleeping quarters with a shared shower room and W.C. making it perfect for families, couples, groups or singles. Each lodge has one room with a double bed and one with twins which can be converted into a lounge area for those staying longer and wanting more space.

Interaction with guests

Our warden is here to welcome and assist you during your stay. She is able to provide detail about local restaurants, pubs, activities and places to explore.

Other things to note

We are a rural site and the eco lodges are designed to be a 'walk to' venue. Out of respect to our neighbours and residents living on the track leading up to the site, we’d ask you to consider car-pooling where possible and either walking or cycling instead of driving during you stay.

Dear Kayleigh, Excellent accomodation, just what I wanted. Will be requesting to come and stay next year. Have been coming to the annual Low Carbon Vehicles event at Millbrook for 10 years, but this is the first time I have stayed at your EcoLodge which was absolutely ideal. Thank you. With best wishes, Christopher Maltin Mobile: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)

Lovely location, and could have been a great stay but for a few things...this is a personal perspective and I accept most people will go the eco lodges to get away from it all...sadly I was there to get some head space to work. With this in mind it's not a great base as the wifi only works in the main lounge, not in the lodges. I was offered a booster, but this never materialised. The rooms are great, could do with a few more shelves put up so you can at least find somewhere to make a cup of tea! Dog friendly which is fab, beds are super comfy. Breakfast is just a few cereals, and I was kicked out at 9 for a yoga class so if you want a lie in on Fridays that won't happen, you need to be out of the breakfast room by 9. Location is quite, down a lane and nestled under the canopy of St Mary's church ruins which are stunning. Walks around the area are fab and the dogs loved it! All in all a bit of a mixed review. Best thing about it was I had a meeting up the road and they gave me the contact details of Lizzie, a lady who lives nearby who baby sat the dogs in the lodge.

Myself and three colleagues hired the eco lodges for two nights whilst working locally. Everything was as described in the airbnb add - the rooms were clean and comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and the shower powerful and hot. There is a lounge room with a kitchen for everyone staying at the lodges to use. The location is great. Out in the countryside so it's peaceful and relaxing. There's a nice restaurant and pub in the town that takes about 15 minutes to walk too. It's a bit dark walking back up the lane at night but other then that the village is in easy reach.

This was a lovely place, in the countryside within walking distance of the village. A charity set up by the local village, the ethos is also great, lots of emphasis on local wildlife and events about wine-making and so on. It was restful to feel such a part of the countryside, and the restored church next-door provides a beautiful backdrop, especially at sunset. I rented a whole lodge, which was a plus for me as I had the bathroom to myself and a living space where I could read in the evenings. The kitchen was a shared space, this encouraged interaction with the other tenants, but it's small and if more than one person wanted to cook at the same time that wouldn't work. The decor and design are up to the minute and tasteful. Having floor to ceiling windows and a sitting area on the balcony outside was great, I could enjoy a glass of wine as the sun went down. Kayleigh and the volunteer who met me when I arrived were friendly and informative, but not intrusive. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be going back.
