Our stay at Lawrence and Lindsey's was wonderful, we never used public transport as it is only a 20 minute walk into the French Quarter. L&L gave us a warm welcome on the day, gave us all the information we needed and also left some very useful books and info about New Orleans and getting around. Our stay coincided with hurricane Harvey and Lindsey messaged me updating me on the extra supplies they had left out in case there was a power cut, which was very thoughtful. We also felt very safe in the apartment as the gate and fence in front of the apartment were very covered in plants and you had to take a second glance to even realise there was an apartment there! People were very friendly in this area, we had a 'hello' from everyone we passed. All in all a lovely stay, and a very traditional and lovely apartment!

There is no air conditioning in the bedroom. "Ceiling fans in every room and ac as well" means ceiling fans in everyone room and an air conditioning unit near the high ceiling of the kitchen. There were three fans in the bedroom which is a huge step up from no fans, but in no way would I describe it as "air conditioned" and I would not have booked this place had I known that. I'm very disappointed in that misleading description. I was also woken up by roofers at 8am three days straight and by an exterminator and their landlord who said the hosts should've warned me they were coming. I called to check, but I received no answer. Maybe cause they didn't know my number? But since the guy had a key I assumed he belonged. Another person came in another day but she also had a key so I assumed it was ok. It is a city, so pests are definitely at play (see the exterminator mentioned earlier). I did have encounters with cockroaches during my stay. The mattress felt sunken and may need to be replaced, or maybe that's personal preference. The lack of AC is what really affected my sleep. Also, there were nails sticking out of the door that would snag on things and could be dangerous. I was fine with having to wear flip flops inside because the floors were splintery, but I would warn people before they stab their feet like I did. The indoors do not have a lot of natural light (the bedroom gets extremely dark) as shown in the photos unless you keep the shutters open, which I didn't want to deal with and was fine with using the electric lights. I kept the dining room light on at all times just to be safe coming in and out. The walkway in the alley could definitely use some love as the bricks were very warped in places and it got very muddy. One of the hosts actually slipped on it when showing me inside. The lock on the front gate is locked from the inside which means you need a key to exit. I'm surprised that it is currently set up like that, but I'm also not a fire code expert. Thankfully I didn't have an emergency where I had to exit quickly and in panic. Otherwise, the size of the place was nice, and the bathroom is definitely the highlight. I didn't have a problem showering and towels were provided. Parking safely on the block and the location was fine for me. But overall, I would not recommend staying here in its current condition, especially without air conditioning in the bedroom.

My stay at this Airbnb was seamless. The check-in was fine, as were the amenities, but it was nothing special. I would like to note that the neighborhood was not as accessible or safe as described. Be prepared to take $6-8 Ubers to most sites and areas. All in all, it was fine. Thanks for the stay.

The picture doesn't look like the actual place. There is an old smell throughout the place. The walkway to the house is very dark and creepy and you have to duck from the hanging vines and branches. If you wear heels be careful because the walkway stones are not lined so you can easily twist your ankles. We actually were so taken aback by this place we only went to change. We stayed at other friends places so we basically wasted money. There was no tv either. Don't choose this place. It needs a lot of upgrades.

Very gracious, welcoming hosts. The place is charming with and old feel for New Orleans living.

The host was quite inhospitable. They provided one set of keys for four guests. In order to enter or exit the place you need keys and if one person exits, they must lock the rest inside or else they leave the door unlocked. This means everybody needs to leave together or someone has to be locked in. It's really inconvenient. We reached out to the host for a second set of keys and they replied the next day asking if we still needed them. We obviously still needed the keys as we were still staying there. We never received the additional keys after a three night stay. The photos look awesome! However the place is not as big as the photos led us to believe. It's too small for four to fit comfortably in the room. Also it says two rooms but it's really one room and a shared kitchen space. Between poor communication and the unexpected small size of the place, especially for the price, this did not feel like good value. Furthermore, the key and lock situation is not just inconvenient it also seems to be a fire hazard. It would be impossible to rapidly vacate the building in a fire because you're locked in and need the key to get out.

Loved this for a weekend away. The inside of the home is so cozy and it's a short distance from the French quarter. Great communication as well!
