We enjoyed our stay the place was clean and comfortable and also provided breakfast. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We appreciated the lunch pack on the day of our Machu Picchu trip. A very convenient location. My tip is to take a twin room upstairs even if you are a couple they are more spacious and quieter.

Never saw the original accommodation, upon arrival the host asked us to relocate to their other property due to plumbing problems with the room we booked (lack of hot water); the other property was another hotel, it was very nice, cozy and the staff was friendly,BUT, the location is horrible (extremely close to a bar/club that played loud music till 4-5 am every night we were there), they gave us earplugs upon checking in (they were useless for me and my heavy sleeper girlfriend); the first room they gave us at the second hotel did not have hot water, after an hour of attempts from the staff to fix it, they moved us to another room; it did have very hot water but it constantly changed from scalding to frigid and back about every 2 minutes, it remained like that throughout our stay.

We were able to check in at stated time. The host was very friendly and let us know that our original room had issues with plumbing. She took us to another building/location and the room was great. Was not able to see the original room, but it didn't matter. Happy with our stay.

When we arrived the host changed us to her other location (we were never given a reason) but it didn't bother us. The water was hot and the breakfast was very good. The room was rustic and spacious. Only negative was the bed was hard. I had problems getting tickets to Machu Picchu and Catty agreed to obtain the tickets for us for a small fee ($10/person) - which is minimal if you have ever tried the government website which is horrible. The hostel is in town and a very short walk to restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the train station. Staff was very attentive to our needs and questions.
