Bring your camping gear & tent and enjoy this unique Camp Site situated on the edge of a mountain stream and large dam. It offers a thatched lapa & braai area; a separate toilet & shower (hot & cold) and a dishwashing area. Exclusively booked for 1 group of campers at a time.
The site allows for excellent game viewing as many of the plains game, such as kudu, impala, giraffes and eland drink at the dam or at the stream flowing from it. Also, if you like bird watching, many of the African wetland birds are frequent visitors: jacana's, egrets, kingfishers and occasionally a fish eagle couple can be spotted.
Guests are invited to enjoy the entire 1,000 HA (10 square km) of the Syringa Sands Private Game Farm on foot or bicycle. We are a nature farm - we regret no self -drive or quadbikes; instead there are 2 marked walking trails or guests can arrange for a game drive in our game viewing vehicle or a guided game walk with Sean or Alex.
Interaction with guests
Alex and Sean check in with their guests daily, just to make sure everything is ok. They would be happy to assist with the organisation of outings in the area such as Big Five game drives at Welgevonden (subject to availability), horse & elephant safari's a visit the nearby Cheetah Ranch etc.
Other things to note
Syringa Sands Private Game Farm is situated in Waterberg area, known for it's spectacular mountain views and peace & tranquility. Due to its remote location the site does not have power, no WIFI and intermittent mobile phone reception only. You will travel on a dirt road for about 45 km to reach Syringa Sands, a high clearance vehicle is recommended in the rainy season. Also 4x4 caravans only.
Please remember to bring fire wood (for sale on the side of the road) to make a braai/BBQ and drinking water. The water available is pumped from the dam.
Guests are encouraged to take photographs only and leave just their footprints behind.
Alex and her husband Sean are a Dutch/SA couple that have taken up game farming 5 years ago. We enjoy an outdoors lifestyle, the SA sunshine, walking, hiking, mountain biking as well as African travel in our Landrover and roof top tent. As much as we love the peace and quiet on the farm, it is always a pleasure to share our passion for wildlife and Africa with visitors.
