Great place if you like to stay in a place that does not feel touristy. It is just that bit out that you feel 'away' from everything, such great location and amazing scenery. Great host, knows a lot about the area. Room is perfect, shower is amazing, actually better than in the pictures. Loved staying here!

Nice and friendly hosts. Taylor was very quick to reply and offer helpful advice both before and after we arrived. We had a very brief overnight stay so didn't get the chance to really experience the place. Location is stunning and close to many walks. Would come back and stay again

The location is great if you are driving like we did. The beds and pillows were a little thin but the toilet was clean and nice. It was a little strange that we HAD to leave the place between 10.30am and 3pm (like what happens if you are sick etc). Taylor was absolutely friendly and hospitable and check-in was a breeze. Our party reduced from 4 to 3 persons and he very kindly adjusted the booking fees. Overall I would recommend it for families.

Response from Taylor:
Hi YuSin We are clear about our closure during the day in all our correspondence with you in advance of your stay. I am very sorry that this is not something that you were expecting. We are a small team and we have found that it is not practical to be open 7 days a week from 7am until 11pm. The vast majority of our guests have no need for access during the day. We would hope that if you had some mild sickness that you would seek medical attention to help you to continue to enjoy your visit to the area. If it is more serious than this then we are not really the place for you to be. Kind regards Taylor & Carolyn

We had a great, although short, stay at Thorney How. It's a really beautiful estate, and a great location. It's a really pretty 10-15minute walk to Grasmere. Would definitely recommend!
