About this listing
My home…humble and extremely lively. Its colourful atmosphere add to its cosiness and the Brazilian folk influence totally transforms the look of the house. A home is like a presentation of its host and reflects their philosophy of life.
My home…humble and extremely lively. Its colourful atmosphere add to its cosiness and the Brazilian folk influence totally transforms the look of the house. A home is like a presentation of its host and reflects their philosophy of life, which to me is essentially one of hospitality and sharing.
An example of how distances can be shortened through empathy as well.
The living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, the balconies, the terrace, the closets, the pc, the books, the wi-fi, the sofa, the fruit, the fridge, the music, the scents… I like to think that my guests will be living all of that with the utmost familiarity.
Interaction with guests
Whoever stays in my home will have to be aware that the hospitality that they find here will be mainly to my own satisfaction, as well as their desire to stay and get back here in the future.
So many words would be needed to present the Quartieri Spagnoli, where the key word is contrast. A paradoxical and antiurban phenomenon, they live a life of their own, radiating their essence on the rest of the city. Ancients walls rich in history and popular legends. Artists and craftsmen whose excellent craftsmanship is only equalled by their tenacity and honesty. The dignity of the shopkeepers (bottegai) who serve you with their reverent helpfulness. Yet the Quartieri Spagnoli cannot be recounted..they need to be lived.
The Quartieri Spagnoli are at the heart of the historical centre of Naples, where there is a wide choice of transport systems. 300 m walking distance from the central funicular railway in Piazzetta Duca d’Aosta. 200 metres walking distance from the Toledo stop of underground line 1 in Via Toledo or Piazza Montecalvario. 800 metres walking distance from Montesanto where you will find the funicular railway of the same name, the Cumana railway, the Circumflegrea railway and line 2 of the underground.
If you get to Naples by train, at the central station you will find the access to underground line 1 terminal; this will take you to the Toledo stop. Once you get there (Via Toledo), go to Piazza Plebiscito and, after 3oo metres, you will find Banco ( bank) di Napoli on your left and, on your right, Vico 3 re a Toledo, one of the many alleys in Quartieri Spagnoli. Walk through it until it changes its name into Gradini S. Matteo Toledo. My number is 23; the buzzer is small and white with Foffo written on it.
If you get to Naples by ferry, this will leave you in Piazza Municipio. Walk through it, then go past the City Hall building until you get to Via Toledo. See above for the directions.
If you fly to Naples, take the ALIBUS to Piazza Municipio. The rest you already know.
