Interaction with guests
We are always available and encourage our guests to approach us with anything they may need or answer any questions. Your comfort is our priority when you are here. We are acutely aware that some guests traveling for business may desire less interaction. Some guests vacationing may prefer more interaction. We pretty much let our guests determine how much that is.

We are natives of Portsmouth, however have lived in other cities in Virginia for most of our life. This home was previously owned by my husband’s grandfather, who was the Curator of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum. The home was then passed to my husband’s father. Many artifacts from long ago are still displayed as they were when previously owned. We purchased the family home in 2001 and began a restoration. Subsequently, the house was rented to military families for 14 years. In 2014 my husband and I decided to make a change from the suburbs. We moved into the home ourselves. We have not looked back for a second and no regrets. We love this home and our Olde Towne neighborhood. Recently we built an addition onto the back of the house. We now live mostly in that part of the house. After I heard about Airbnb, I decided I would enjoy sharing the historic part of our home and the rich history of our city with visitors. Doing so has been an amazing and wonderful journey for us and we will continue. When time allows, I enjoy cooking, gardening, going to the beach, boating and repurposing furniture and other whimsical items. My husband enjoys boating, fossil hunting, carving driftwood and just hanging around in his wood shop. We both very much enjoy hosting Airbnb visitors.
