Sabina and her husband (and son who we met briefly) were very nice and accommodating hosts! They went out of their way on several occasions to help make sure we had an enjoyable stay. They picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station and even drove us back to the visitor's office once we were settled. Although the furnishings and appliances are dated, everything worked great, including the washing machine. However, the toilet flusher, for lack of better words, is broken. There is no flusher handle, so we had to manually pull up on a plastic cylinder located inside the tank every time we wanted to flush the toilet. Additionally, the bathroom sink knobs are extremely difficult to turn off. We really had to crank them to make sure water didn't stream out. We also had a problem with the hot water in the shower. Sabina and her husband responded immediately and they even called a mechanic (which Sabina said was a miracle given that it was new year's eve day!). When we returned home from an afternoon hike, the shower was fixed. However, there was a large pool of standing water on the floor. So much water that two hand towels were not enough to absorb it. Once I cleaned up most of the water, I took a shower. Periodically throughout the afternoon, we kept noticing and cleaning up more water. We finally notified Sabina in case there was a leak. After several hours of no more water, we ruled out that idea and never did determine where it came from. Sabina told me that I needed to make sure that we kept the shower curtain completely closed and I explained to her that I did, but that the water was there before I took a shower. It's a mystery, but wasn't a problem again. We had the same hot water problem the following morning and Sabina rushed right over. She finally figured out that the trick is to run the hot water in the kitchen for a few minutes to push out the air bubbles that build up in the pipes, then the shower should work fine. We did this and sure enough it worked. I want to mention that Sabina and her husband were VERY apologetic and Sabina offered to let us use her bathroom. We could tell that it was very important to them that we had an enjoyable stay. She even offered to let us stay for another night free of charge. The location of the house is about a mile from the city center and even further for most of the popular hiking trails. There are several supermarkets and other stores nearby, although most restaurants are located closer to the center of town. The WiFi signal was moderate to weak, but that has been typical throughout our travels in SA. Overall, we thought the accommodation was a bit overpriced given the dated furnishings, appliances, and distance to the city center. But...

Response from Sabina:
