The place was close to town but I would recommend renting a 4x4 as we did. The tent was spacious and the extra blankets were great. It was VERY cold in the mornings when we stayed. So be prepared for that if you are staying in June. The water in the showers was not hot, more like luke warm which was tough on some of our cold morning. Maca was great and helped us plan our days. She is a great communicator as well and gave us such great tips on things to see.

Response from Maca:
Thank you for your time in writing Yes, winter gets cold, but a good tip would be to take shower in the afternoons (closing the tap a bit, also helps in warming it better, due to less water running) Hopefully three more weeks and we are done with this low temperatures Take good care and hope to see and host you soon

Maca has a cool thing going that's always being improved. It's a unique experience especially if you are spending 3+ days in atacama, but can be rustic. Our trip was too short and because the place is a little further from town we were running back and forth a bit (for tours, for dinner). Best to get maca to organize your transfer as it can be a hard place to find at checkin.

Maca's Atacama Glamp was an extraordinary place to stay at Atacama. From start to finish, everything was wonderful and seamless. It was located a comfortable 20-30 minute walk away from the town of San Pedro de Atacama proper, a wonderful distance to walk off our big dinners and enjoy incredible stargazing away from the more lit areas closer to town. Our "tent" was very comfortable, with two twin beds and a king bed, all of them cozy and comfortable. Given the cold temperatures during our visit, we did end up using the bed heaters and hot water bottles for sleeping. There was a convenient outdoor kitchen where Maca and her team would stock breakfast and snack provisions (filtered water, coffee, milk, fruits, yogurt, eggs, cheese, etc) and every morning they would deliver a full baguette outside of our tent for our breakfast. We enjoyed making ourselves a delicious breakfast and eating it in the lovely sunny weather at the table outside of our apartment. There were also other comfortable outdoor spaces to enjoy (including lounge chairs and a fire pit), all with extraordinary unobstructed views of the Andes, particularly at sunset. Also, Maca's friendly dogs, cat, and sheep placidly wander around the property, giving the whole place a homey, rustic feel. While we enjoyed relaxing at the glamp, we spent most of our time out and about exploring! Within minutes of us arriving, Maca made a few calls and quickly arranged for us to see the salt flats and lakes (laguna Chaxa), the Tatio geysers, horseback ride through the Valley of Mars in the desert dunes, and go to an astronomical tour at night. Since all of us speak fluent Spanish, most of these she arranged with local drivers/guides who picked us up and dropped us off right at the Glamp. She also has contacts and recommendations for the tour companies in town. A few other things to know: - We were initially a bit concerned about booking/coordinating tours ahead of time, but it was incredibly easy to do right there when we arrived - Around this time of year, it does get quite cold at night (i.e. during astronomical tours) and the early mornings (especially at the geysers). Bring warm clothes! And plan on maybe not always having hot water for showers (maybe the only drawback, but then again it is camping :) - Definitely have Maca help you coordinate airport pickup and drop off. Once the people pick you up at the airport in Calama, pay (in chilean pesos) for both the going and return trips and arrange for them to pick you up about 3 hours before your flight (since it's about 1 hour away from the airport) - We got by very well with no cellular service and logging onto Maca's WiFi occasionally - In town, check out Delicias del Carmen, Adobe, Blanco. There as also a Hamburger Garden place and a place called "El Sanguchon" that had, as we say, "muy buena pinta." - We...

My stay was amazing, as a first time "glamper" I felt safe and secure on the premises. Everyone was accommodating and easy to communicate with.

This camp site was really well run with very pleasant staff, and the tents themselves were comfortable--even when it got cold at night. Being a little far from town meant relying on the town's few taxis or walking (which is hard at night in the dark), but overall we really enjoyed our stay.

We had a nice stay at the glamping site. We were the only ones staying so it was pretty quiet! Good breakfast including eggs, bread, yoghurt etc which you have to prepare yourself. The tents are equipped with a comfy bed and plenty of heating for the chilly nights.
