This place is amazing. Pictures do not do it justice. Peaceful and friendly valley. The swimming hole is a must! It is way better than any other swimming hole we saw in the area. Simon and Carol were great hosts. Helpful, friendly and left us to do our own thing. Will definitely come back when we do the Abel Tasman this what!!

If you are after simplicity and remotness this location is the one as this studio apartment is located at the end of a windy gravel road in the Rainbow Valley. The studio apartment is simple however has all you need. Outside toilets host a few sandflies. Owners were kind and ready to explain a couple of local walks.

Simon and Carol are wonderful, easygoing hosts, relaxed and willing to help out with everything. The bach is near the house, but there is enough space to have privacy if you need it. The bach itself is cosy and there were nice decorations everywhere, from woodcarvings to small paintings, very nice. The bed was great! The toilet is outside, just beside the bedroom, so it was no trouble at all to go there. We loved the quietness, the completely peaceful environment and the view from the windows on the forested hills of Kahurangi. The bach is located at the end of an easy to drive gravel road in a peaceful valley where nature predominates. We waded through the river which is a few hundred metres from the bach. There are some sandflies, not too much but we needed some repellent to keep them off. Thank you Simon and Carol!
