Wow! What an amazing place, the setting of this house is just incredible. We were fortunate to arrive and depart in uncharacteristically great weather and this just made the place even more beautiful. The house is perched above the beautiful Lough Mask and the views are just wonderful, especially in the early evening light.. An artists dream. The house itself is very nice, with everything one could need to be comfortable and self-contained. Lovely conservatory space to eat breakfast in whilst admiring the setting, and a wonderful fire for the evenings with a good sized dining table with views out and enough seating to relax and daydream.. Both bathrooms are en-suite so perfect for two couples to stay.. Would love to return to this place as it is quite magical..

Our stay in Toormakeady was great and exactly what we wanted - this house is in an isolated area with spectacular views, there is no signal or wifi which may be an issue for some but was ideal for what we wanted. It is a great choice if it is a pure relaxation break you're looking for with the option of relatively nearby Westport for activity. The house itself is lovely and is fully equipped with everything you would want.

What a gem of a place!! The view is absolutely stunning. A little of heaven. It is very quiet and needless to say quite remote. If you want somewhere to get away from it all, this is the place. Right in front of the house you have an expansive view of Lough Mask (trout-fishing lake!) You will receive instructions on how to get to the house as you won't find the address given on the satnav nor map. You'll be met by the managers of the house to get the key and also to hand the key back-very simple! The house is very warm which helps because the weather was temperamental. We had rain, gale force wind, sleet, hailstones and sun! The house is very well-equipped. You would need toiletries, toilet paper, washing up liquid (although there is a dishwasher), and of course, groceries and you're good to go!! About 25 miles from Knock Shrine, about 45-50 minutes drive to Castlebar, Westport and from Westport about an hour and a half to Kylemore Abbey in Connemara. Well worth a visit! The drive was breathtaking as it was very remote, through the mountains-not a soul in sight! Explore the area and chill out at the house!
