Located near the market towns of Abergavenny and Crickhowell, this dog-friendly holiday home sits within idyllic, rural countryside with gorgeous walks all around. Spend your days exploring caves, waterfalls and fascinating heritage sites, then return to this three-bedroom abode to bubble beneath the stars or snuggle up in front of the wood burner.

The space
Accessed via a narrow country lane, this two-storey barn conversion sits within 40 acres of private land with mesmerising country views all around. Lovingly converted, the property blends traditional features such as wooden beams and slate flooring with contemporary comforts for a sophisticated and comfortable home from home. Enjoy sociable evenings in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, cooking up a feast on the AGA and electric oven, before sitting around the dining table to savour your creations while gazing across the verdant landscape. Fill the air with laughter and chatter as you gather in the lounge in front of a roaring wood burner, or adjourn to the separate snug to curl up with a book. Outside a private patio invites you to dine alfresco, before easing into the hot tub with a glass of wine to unwind after the day’s adventures. A light and spacious king-size master bedroom, cosy double and snug twin room on the first floor ensure a comfortable night’s sleep for all. A ground-floor wet room, first-floor bathroom, and utility area in the garage take care of all practicalities.

Lace up your walking boots and set out on foot to explore the miles of trails or take a relaxing stroll along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, which sits around a mile from the property. The Govilon Activity Centre (1.5 miles) offers exhilarating activities such as rock climbing, caving and gorge walking, or discover the Blaenavon World Heritage Site (5.5 miles). For a more restful day, head to Abergavenny (4.5 miles) and see why it’s developed a reputation as a foodie paradise.
