Basic Vegan breakfast (coffee, juice, toast, cereal) included.
“We enjoyed a wonderful week at the Rest Wing. The new COVID procedures made our stay feel safe and our room was spotlessly clean. Mike and Rosie were the perfect hosts and whilst changes have been made, they were very attentive and always ensured that we had everything we needed. The addition of packed lunches were most welcome. They were always varied, filling and great value, we ended up requesting one most days to fuel our adventures! We love visiting the Rest Wing, it's the perfect base for Keswick and it's convenient location means most places are accessible on foot and the car can be left behind. We'll be back again and again...”
Thornythwaite Farm is a cosy smallholding tucked into the foot of the fells above Ullswater lake. We're lucky enough to have space to work and play in this beautiful place, and for our growing menagerie of hens, ducks, sheep and bees. The fells are on our doorstep with the lake a 5 minute drive down into the valley and Keswick and Penrith are both easily reached in quarter of an hour. Dockray is a 5 minute walk down the road and is home to The Royal hotel which serves great food all day.
“We loved our stay at Victoria and Jim’s place. Their cottage is set in a beautiful location just near stunning Ullswater lake. Victoria does an excellent breakfast and they have us great recommendations of things to do and see in the local area. We also very much enjoyed learning about their house, setting up and sharing their life in the Lake District. Would thoroughly recommend.”
My home is on a small, Lakeland farm set up on a hillside with wonderful views down to the Duddon estuary. You could be woken by the song of a blackbird or robin or the cockerel; otherwise, it's a wonderfully quiet, peaceful spot. The hens and cats hang out in the yard, various sheep breeds, four ponies, and a scattering of cows populate the fields, and beyond that a gate opens onto the hills.
“Kate’s house is exactly as I’d hoped but even better. The location is amazing, just up the drive and through the gate you’re met with breathtaking views of the mountains. A great place to hike and Kate was more than happy to tell you nearby attractions to travel to and explore. Kate was so welcoming and great company, with a lovely breakfast served in the morning. Surrounded by animals the visit was simply idyllic and I cannot recommend it enough. Kate was always quick to respond to any inquiries over air bnb messenger and was extremely helpful and makes you feel at home.”
