Zoo
“Tiergarten Schönbrunn (literally, "Schönbrunn Animal Garden"), or "Vienna Zoo", is a zoo located on the grounds of the famous Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria. Founded as an imperial menagerie in 1752, it is the oldest continuously operating zoo in the world. The still preserved buildings of the baroque era, which have been complemented in the last years by elements of modern zoo architecture, still convey a good impression of the 18th century menagerie-buildings after the Versailles model. ”

“Schönbrunn Palace (German: Schloss Schönbrunn [ʃøːnˈbʁʊn]; Central Bavarian: Schloss Scheenbrunn) was the main summer residence of the Habsburg rulers, located in Hietzing, Vienna. The 1,441-room Rococo palace is one of the most important architectural, cultural, and historic monuments in the country. Since the mid-1950s it has been a major tourist attraction. The history of the palace and its vast gardens spans over 300 years, reflecting the changing tastes, interests, and aspirations of successive Habsburg monarchs”

Park
“One of the best parks in vienna which has something to offer for everyone. There are fitness devices, three table tennis tables, a playground for kids, a basket ball court, an area for dogs and lots of green area to relax. Prefere going there in autumn or summer! A lovely park for a stroll. We come here every morning if we can to the playgrounds as we live near here. The kids love it, especially the sand area and the open grass area to run. Do note that there are no toilets though. A very nice park with wonderful playgrounds.”

“Have coffee in a greenhouse! Part of the huge Hofburg complex in the heart of the city is an Art Nouveau greenhouse – the Palmenhouse. It is the former home of Habsburg royal family that now houses the residence of Austria’s President and the Prime Minister’s office. And the Butterflyhouse. Once used by the emperor as a place of relaxation, it contains the Schmetterlinghouse (Butterflyhouse). It is a beautiful display of hundreds of butterfly species living in a large tropical rainforest setting. ”
