History Museum
“The Doge's Palace is a palace built in Venetian Gothic style, and one of the main landmarks of the city of Venice in northern Italy. The palace was the residence of the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the former Venetian Republic. It was founded in 1340, and extended and modified in the following centuries. It became a museum in 1923, and is one of the 11 museums run by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia.”

“Famous! It can take a entire day to go through the Biennale at arsenale and 2 days do see both Arsenale and Giardini. However, years after years, if you only have a day or a half day to dedicate to the biennale I recommend going to Arsenale rather than Giardini.”

“Si può addirittura camminare sopra, ma bisogna entrare dal Palazzo Ducale. You can even walk on it, but you have to enter the Doge's Palace. Vous pouvez même marcher dessus, mais vous devez entrer dans le Palais des Doges. ”

“Sited at the extreme Eastern corner of the town, facing the island of Lido, it is the largest green area of the town. Go there to practise jogging on the border of the lagoon. Under the trees, some sports appliances are also available for free use. Some nice cafés are nearby for refreshment when you are done. Reach on foot, along the Riva Schiavoni, or by Vaporetto N. 1. Only one stop away is the island of Lido, the Venetian beach. Visit to see the romantic old Hotels near the Palazzo del Cinema. At Lido you can circulate by car, or rent a bike. Situata all'estremo angolo est della città, di fronte all'isola di Lido, è la più grande area verde della città, raggiungibile con il vaporetto . ”

“The Venetian Arsenal (in Italian, Arsenale di Venezia) was the heart of the Venetian naval industry from the thirteenth century. It is related to the most flourishing period of the life of the Serenissima: thanks to the massive ships built there, Venice through the centuries was able at the beginning to control the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea (to safeguard the economic interest of its merchants) and later to compete with the Turks for the control of the Aegean and the Adriatic.”
