Flat in Glasgow
4.95 out of 5 average rating, 560 reviewsArchitect's Boutique Flat
Stretch out and snuggle on the corner sofa after a wonderful day of exploring and enjoy the beautiful natural light from a classic top floor tenement bay window. Explore a more local part of the West End of the city of Glasgow with great individual eateries and shops on quiet streets leading to the Botanic Gardens and the River Kelvin. Our original artworks and books gathered over many years coupled with natural oak and stone flooring create a very restful and pleasant atmosphere for your stay..... A very clean, modern and really well fitted out re-modelling of a traditional tenement flat. A good example of a typical Glasgow home but fully modernised. It is light and bright with good open aspects and views due to being top floor and taller than the buildings around. It has a very efficient layout and an excellent kitchen space open plan to the living area. The flat is well equipped with super-fast 150mbps wi-fi, hair dryer, L'Occitane toiletries, simple breakfast items, welcome pack, travel cot, umbrellas etc and a well equipped kitchen. We also have memory foam mattresses, excellent heating and insulation plus we only use ecological cleaning products. The entire flat is accessible and there is a shared rear garden. Easy on street parking is available free of charge and it's usually possible to park right in front of the building. I am usually working abroad so we have Michelle and Annie to meet and greet guests on the ground in Glasgow and deal with their requirements. I am on hand via Airbnb messenger, phone, text and email to help with bookings and answer any specific questions or give more background on the area and things to do. We know the area well having been born in Glasgow and lived in this part of town for many years. The flat is tucked away on a quiet residential street with open aspects to the south and great local shops and eateries very nearby. The busier parts of the West End are minutes away with the Botanic Gardens and River Kelvin also offering relaxing walks and pleasant pedestrian routes deeper into the city. There is a bus stop a few meters from the flat and others with more routes within a few minutes walk. Hillhead underground is 10-15 minutes pleasant walk away offering fast access to city centre and south side of the city. Private hire taxis are not too expensive. The city centre is also walk-able and there are various enjoyable walks along the river which passes the end of the street both into and out of town. We are sure that you will love the flat, we are abroad much of the time and not able to have all our beautiful paintings, books and furniture with us but hopefully they can bring some enjoyment to your use of the flat.

Your guide to Glasgow
All About Glasgow
Famed for its culture, nightlife, and Victorian architecture, Glasgow is one of the most lovable cities in Scotland, if not the whole of the United Kingdom. Centuries of trade and commerce have left their legacy in the stone tenements and grand civic buildings that dominate the city center, from Buchanan Street to George Square, while its Art Nouveau stylings have added a more romantic flourish. Museums, galleries, and cutting-edge contemporary art abound in a city that has always had a rebellious side. Its diverse neighborhoods — from the cobbled lanes of the West End to the leafy avenues of Southside — each retain an individual charm, and are blessed with plenty of parks, from the Botanic Gardens to Glasgow Green.
The best time to stay in a holiday rental in Glasgow
Glasgow has a well-earned reputation for being a wet city. It gets an average of 46 inches of rain a year, distributed fairly evenly across the seasons. On the plus side, summers are pleasantly warm rather than unpleasantly hot, with temperatures in July hitting an average high of 66 degrees Fahrenheit. Being one of the UK’s more northerly cities, it can get chilly at other times of year, reaching around 39 degrees Fahrenheit in the depths of December. Make sure you’ve packed plenty of warm clothing if you’re taking a winter trip (base layers are advisable). In spring and fall, layers are the way to go; and don’t forget to pack a waterproof jacket and umbrella.
Top things to do in Glasgow
Glasgow Cathedral
This Gothic marvel — known as St Mungo’s, after the patron saint of the city, who died here in 614 AD — was built in the 12th century, and is one of the only major medieval churches to survive the Scottish Reformation intact. To its eastern side is the Necropolis, an elegant Victorian cemetery housing 50,000 graves (and many beautiful sculptures) across its 37 acres.
Merchant City
A warehouse district for wealthy traders in the mid-18th century, the area of the East End around Glasgow Cross has been transformed into one of the hippest spots in the city. High-end designer shopping rubs shoulders with bars, restaurants, and galleries, and Merchant Square hosts regular street markets and festivals.
Kelvingrove Park
Partly designed by a famous landscape architect, this Victorian park is one of the most enchanting green spaces in Glasgow. Set around the curving banks of the River Kelvin — a tributary of the Clyde, the main river that runs through the city — it features a bandstand, bowling greens, and tennis courts. It’s also home to a number of the city’s best galleries and art museums.
