Restaurant
“This is a cute cafe and restaurant located right by the Akaroa Playground, which has plenty of climbing equipment, swings and slides. You can easily grab a coffee or a wine here and sit outside to watch the kids play. They also do handy little kids pack lunches, although I find the adult menu to be a bit pricey :)”

“A treat to visit for a special occasion. French fare - delicious seafood and locally sourced meat. Good wine menu too. Don't cater for children under 10. As name suggests, it is small so best to book ahead. ”

Café
“Stopped at this delightful café on a busy Easter weekend where people had flocked to Akaroa - it bustled with bonne homme, coffees bring made by the score and good food. Another delight was the area reserved for selling fab general store goods - found a jar of harissa and a packet of puffed millet! We had a coffee a-piece and a toasted mushroom, Swiss cheese and roast veges multi-grain sandwich. Had a nice chat with the owners which finished up this most delightful experience! We'll be back!”

“Away from the cruise ship hordes, but still very close to the centre of Akaroa. When we had lunch there, the pies were delicious, a little different, and very reasonably priced. Service was quick and friendly.”
