Floating Market
“Amphawa is the second most popular floating market near Bangkok, not as large as Damnoen Saduak but more authentic, with visitors almost exclusively Thai. Located 50 km from Bangkok this once small village was apparently already present in the mid-Seventeenth Century. The best way to enjoy Amphawa is to come before 10:00 and leave soon after lunch.”

Market
“The railway became famous for its route through the Maeklong Railway Market, nicknamed (Thai: ตลาดร่มหุบ : Talat Rom Hup), meaning the "umbrella pulldown market". It is one of the largest fresh seafood markets in Thailand, and is centred on the Maeklong Railway's track. Whenever a train approaches, the awnings and shop fronts are moved back from the rails, to be replaced once the train ”

Place to shop
“The Main Market of our province. You can walk around the Market because it is not too big (Our province is the smallest province in Thailand, so the others are same). Recommend to come here, it has the famous place you have to see "Meaklong Railway Market". It is the amazing market in Thailand. ”

Floating Market
“Morning market The Tha Kha floating market takes place on the 2nd, 7th, 12th days of both the waxing and waning moon of the lunar calendar, and also operates on every Saturday and Sunday from 6.00 a.m. to noon. This is a rendezvous of vendor boats that carry local food, vegetable, and fruit for selling.”

Establishment
“Visitors will firstly see an imitation wall built in memory of the battle. Here is a historic navy camp site. Following the second defeat of the Ayutthaya kingdom in 1767, King Taksin the Great moved the naval force to set up camp in the district of Bang Kung since Mueang Mae Klong (the city of Mae Klong) was in the way used by the Burmese army. The camp site was left deserted for almost 200 years.”

Point of Interest
“A fun place to enjoy lunch and shop fresh local produce. Contrary to the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market which is full of mass tourists, this market is favoured by locals and Thai visitors making it a great place to mingle with the locals. ”

Farmers Market
“A truly unique and unusual attraction, the Maeklong Market is not famous for shopping. The stands are actually set-up on a railway and a train that passes right through the market every few hours with only centimeters apart! Vendors actually close their stands seconds before the train comes and re-open them right after. I have to say that I didn’t go here with high expectations, but it turned out to be very fun. Make sure you go during the correct hours. The train passes around 8:30 am and 11 am, but check the times when you visit Bangkok, because they might change frequently. Tip: You can stop by here on your way to the floating market in the morning. ”
