Holiday Rentals in United States

Just booked in Attalla

I designed this home with 2 living spaces with private entrances on opposite sides of the house. All columns and posts were trees from the property that were recycled. There is 200 year old rustic wood in the cabin. I did a lot of the work myself. Peaceful view of the lake sitting on the large patio. Great place to relax and see bald eagles and deer.
Located on Lake Shore Island at Guntersville Lake. Great for fishermen, hunters, golfers and families. Two bedrooms, two baths, kitchenette and living room in downstairs private apartment. Master bedroom sleeps 4 - king size bed (can be separated into two long twins) and futon (opens to full size). Second bedroom sleep two in queen size tempura-pedic bed. Living room has futon (opens to full size) and 50" flat screen TV. Kitchenette has full size fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, large griddle (no stove) and dining table (expands to seat 8). Two double sliding doors open to views of lake and large covered patio with large outdoor grill, with dining table and additional seating and fire pit. View of the lake with boat launch across the street. Secure boat parking with electrical hookups on site. Close to downtown with restaurants and lots of boutique and antique shops!
You will be within minutes of shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. If you're a fisherman there is a boat launch right across the road. There will be a list of restaurants in the welcome book in the kitchenette. Guntersville has a 69,000 acre lake for you to enjoy boating, skiing, fishing or just relaxing. Other attractions in and around Guntersville are walking trails, Cathedral Caverns, and many golf courses. There is live music at many restaurants and free concerts on Thursdays during the summer.
  • My stay at Mary's cabin was great. She lives in the upstairs floor, but was not intrusive in at all. She is a very gracious host who is willing to help in any way. I would definitely consider staying here again.

    Lawrence2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place is the perfect spot for anyone coming to Guntersville to enjoy some time fishing on the lake. It is convenient to everything!! She is the best host we have ever had from an AirBNB stay. Her banana nut bread is awesome!! We will definitely be coming back here again and again every time we come to fish at Guntersville!!

    Joel2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was an excellent host for the weekend. My friends and I were in town for a wedding, and we had an excellent weekend. Mary's cabin had everything we needed and more! She even gave us some of the most delicious bread that everyone loved! Really appreciate her hospitality and would love to go back to the lake sometime. What a beautiful place!

    Kelly2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Mary was a wonderful host and was very accessible for questions. The space was beautiful and very clean. She talked to us about the family connection with the art and much of the decor. She put a lot of thought into the space. It was comfortable and even though it doesn't sit on the water, the lake was very accessible right across the street. There was a park area a couple of minutes down the road as well where we fished from the bank. It was convenient to restaurants and a marina where we rented a pontoon for a day. It was a great trip!

    Matt2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • As always, Mary is a great host and I can't ask for a more convenient location! Will be back again!

    Joel2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed everything in the cabin! Mary had everything we needed and more! It's a beautiful and peaceful place. If you're in the Guntersville, I highly recommend staying at lake shore cabin! I plan to return in the fall.

    Angela2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A great place in a great location..and the he views are spectacular.

    Harry2017-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • As always, our stay with Mary is as close to being at home as we can be on the road. We had a free hotel room provided for us for this fishing tournament, but chose to stay with Mary because the comfort of been at a place that feels like home is worth more than a free hotel room. Will be back many times more in the future.

A beautiful, unique double-decker bus conversion (school bus with Volkswagen on top) that comes right out of a bohemian dream! Nestled in the Appalachian foothills in rural northern Alabama.
Sleep in a super-comfy King size bed with plenty of natural light in the day and beautiful lights for evening, scale the ladder to a lofted reading nook, snuggle up on the leather pull-out couch or pull up a chair to simple vintage table. Heat and A/C available, multiple outlets to charge phones or computers. -Noccallula Falls (15 minutes away) -Horse Pens 40- bouldering (25 minutes away) -Cherokee Rock Village - rock climbing (40 minutes away) -Little River Canyon -kayaking, etc (45 minutes away) -Birmingham (1 hour away) -Chattanooga (1 1/2 hours away) -Atlanta (2 hours away)
Our 40 acres is tucked into a Northeastern Alabama "holler", so occasionally one can hear a train in the distance, dogs barking, and the sound of target practice. Generally speaking, we experience the peace and quiet of the country. Grocery shopping, convenience stores and restaurants are just minutes away.
  • It was a real pleasure staying here! The options for nontraditional accommodations are fairly slim in the south, so we felt pretty lucky to find a renovated bus so close to Horse Pens... but the real surprises came once we arrived. Shallyn and Joshua welcomed us wholeheartedly into their amazing home, a property which includes several beautiful alternative living spaces. The space itself was cozy and perfect, the peace and solitude of the surrounding forest rejuvenating. We can’t wait for our next visit to HP so we can stay in Birdsong again!

Centrally located neighborhood is the primary perk to location as propert is secluded by fauna and a fence around half of property
  • John was very friendly and welcoming. We sat in the living room and chatted when we first got there. John's home was very clean, comfortable, and inviting. Very roomy bedroom with very comfortable bed. Recommended to stay with John.

  • Very nice place to stay! Super clean and comfortable room. Close to everything.

  • Very nice, convenient place to stay. I liked the atmosphere of the house. Had few chats with John and played with his friendly dog. Will stay again!

    Eduard2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • John is very friendly and a great host! Very blessed to have found this!

    Alex2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • John was a great host. He was able to give a lot of tips for great attractions and restaurants which made my stay awesome. His dog is also adorable and super friendly.

    Connor2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • John has a nice setup that needs some tweaking. There’s an adjacent sitting room, a nice plus, which could benefit from better lighting. The kitchen hAd no coffeemaker. Although the bed was comfy and the room clean, we found the bathroom less clean. Still decent value for the money.

  • John was a great host. He went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed. The house is very clean and he gave me the run of the house. The location is a close drive to downtown and everything is easy to get to. His dog is extremely friendly...which was a huge plus for me, being a dog lover!

Quiet farmstead with plenty of amenities. Sit by the pool, fish in the pond, or just sit and watch the animals graze. The backyard offers an in-ground pool and plenty of privacy. Your room is well appointed with a king sized bed with a Casper mattress and a large flat screen TV with cable. Boaz is a wonderful little town in the NE part of the state of Alabama. We have a lovely farmers market, Monday-Friday in town. We also have a drive-in movie theater, a regular movie theater, a bowling alley and some great restaurants. If farm fresh meats are your thing, there is a wonderful farm stand only a few miles away that sells pork and beef. There are lots of stores nearby for shopping, including Walmart. If you have forgotten anything, we can probably send you in the right direction.
  • Briana’s place was available as my Uncles and Aunts were running from Irma. They had only great things to say about their stay. Thank you!!

    Kellie2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • It is a beautiful home and having the animals was nice. Our hostess was thoughtful and eager to help us with any needs. There was lots of quiet time and we were able to use the kitchen to cook our meals which saved us quite a lot of extra money since there were 5 of us. They left us very clear and helpful instructions on paper in our rooms so we could remember what we needed and where things were. We really did enjoy our stay.

  • We loved everything about our stay at Ellen's cabin. Ellen was a great communicator and provided us detailed directions via email and when we got closer to the cabin. Ellen's cabin was beautiful and well-maintained, and she did not miss a spot when it came to decorations and detail. We did some light shopping, but appliances, utensils, etc. needed to prepare meals were provided. We felt like we were in our home away from home and could not have asked for a lovelier place to stay. We enjoyed sitting/swinging on the front porch. We also enjoyed Brownie's companionship. We did not use the TV at all and enjoyed spending time conversing in the living room. We loved the beautiful ceramic tile throughout the cabin, especially in the bathrooms. The cabin had central air, USB jacks, and numerous electrical outlets throughout. It also had a tank-less hot water system. We truly appreciated the impressive details of this cabin. The cabin was far enough away from traffic, but close enough to enjoy nearby waterways and attractions . We would definitely return to Ellen's cabin and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Leesburg area.

  • I don’t know where to start! Ken was one of the kindest people I have ever met. This was my first AirBnB rental and as soon as I arrived, he made me feel right at home. A variety of coffee was provided, as well as juice and breakfast snacks, the bed was so comfortable, the temperature was regulated by a digital thermostat that made the night very pleasant, the shower was amazing and beyond relaxing, and the towels were incredibly soft. Overall it was just a really nice experience. I highly recommend Ken’s house over any hotel!!

  • Ed & Lorna were lovely hosts. Both are accomplished professionals and world travelers, so they had great stories to share. Lorna is an terrific chef and several meals included fresh fruits and veggies from their garden. I would highly recommend a stay at their ranch - there's space to roam, the flower gardens are beautiful, the porches are made for sitting and deer or bird watching. The house is well appointed and comfortable for any travel needs, they have really thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome.

  • We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Summer Dreams. Ed and Rocket opened up their beautiful home and made us feel at ease sharing it with them. Our room was perfectly appointed with ever detail carefully thought through to ensure our stay was easy and comfortable. The surrounding garden and 14 acres of woodlands offer peaceful vistas and the opportunity to capture glimpses of the abundant wildlife. The breakfast was beyond my expectations... The highlight being the apple pancakes made by Rocket using her Great Grandmothers recipe. I would highly recommend this stay. Thank you Ed and Rocket. Keep in touch. Your Australian friends... Sue and Will

    Sue2015-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ed and Loren (Rocket) are charming and made me feel right at home. Although the kitchen is mentioned as an amenity, it is not available to do your own cooking. Everything else in the description was spot on. Bed was very comfortable. I loved the area and they even have a veranda that is screened in where you can sit and observe the picturesque view they have worked so hard to create. Breakfast time is a treat , so scrumptious and inviting. They even went out of their way to provide breakfast when I was leaving at 5:30 in the morning. The whole experience was a treat.

    Richard2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ed and Rocket were very welcoming and warm, even for such a brief period of our stay. The food was fantastic!

  • My brother and I stayed 3 nights in the Yellow Room. Ed and Lorna were very welcoming. They were gracious hosts. Breakfasts each morning were tasty and filling. The house is in a beautiful country setting, with gardens, birdfeeders and no road sounds. We loved relaxing on the side porch. The house is a short ride from the Chief Ladiga bike trail which connects with the Silver Comet trail in Georgia. We loved biking thru the beautiful and remote countryside, as well as thru the small country downtowns. We discovered great places to eat. We would definitely return to stay with Ed and Lorna again - and next time bring our friends.

    Lawrence2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 38 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    William2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • How do you describe finding a little bit of heaven on earth? From the moment we arrived until our departure five days later, we could not have asked for a better experience. This was our first ever stay at a BnB. If Summer Dreams is an example of a typical BnB, I can't imagine staying in a commercial hotel/motel ever again if a BnB is available. If your travel ever takes you within a 50 mile radius of Jacksonville, Alabama, I highly recommend you take advantage of staying in a beautiful home with two wonderful people as your hosts. Oh, and don't forget to ask Ed to let you feed apple slices to the donkeys and horses while you're there!!

    Thom2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a dream! Ed and Rocket are the most caring, loving, and inviting hosts I have ever encountered. The house and property is absolutely beautiful. I woke up to birds chirping, fresh coffee, and enjoyed a three course breakfast cooked by Rocket fresh that morning. The room had fresh linens, towels, and a walk in closet. I gave them 5 stars across the board! Ed and Rocket really went out of their way to make my stay something special. They care about every detail of your experience and make you feel like part of the family. If you are ever traveling through Jacksonville, make it a point to stay with Ed and Rocket at Summer Dreams BnB. P.s. They have two beautiful horses!!

  • We stayed for three nights in Rachel's house during a golfing trip in the area. The location was central to the courses we played and easy to navigate to. The house provided the space and comfort we had hoped for. Should we be in the area for a golf trip in the future, we will definitely consider Rachel's house as a place to stay.

    David2016-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel met us at the door and gave us a very warm welcome. She's upbeat, and communication with her was a pleasure. Her home is wonderfully comfortable and spacious. The yard and back deck are a joy. A very nice home all-around. The neighborhood does feel rather secluded, and we were unsure if the two houses closest were occupied or not, so this is definitely the spot for you if you want guaranteed quiet nights.

    Jessica2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great house. Host was great and everything was just as advertised! Thanks!

    Jim2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious 3 bedroom house that's well laid out, has ample amenities, good WiFi, cable, and a large open back yard leading into the woods. Great for an escape, even though there are neighbors nearby, they're far enough away not to disturb. Rachel is excellent at responding and has very thoughtfully decorated and provisioned the house.

    Chris2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel is extremely helpful and her place is very cozy. We had a great time staying in her place!

    Hayden2015-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's place was excellent for a romantic getaway. We loved the cottage styling and how well the yard and house looked. While we were there we viewed the amazing fall colors, canyons, and waterfalls that where nearby. We were thankful for a pet friendly stay. Wifi, Plenty of towels, fireplace, nice decks(front and back), keurig, plenty of parking. While we just stayed here for two there are 2 additional bedrooms and bathrooms if you want a larger group to get out. Rachel is very responsive and kept good communication before and during stay. I recommend visiting the area and enjoying a stay at Rachel's.

    John2015-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a good, relaxing time here and Rachel was such a kind, workable host! She stocked the kitchen with everything we needed! The house was in a secluded and quiet neighborhood and was so relaxing and comfortable! I loved the layout of the house and the beautiful woodwork, floors and crown molding captured my attention the whole time we were there! The two little kitties that came to visit us daily were such an added bonus. The gray one purred and sat on my lap every time I was on the porch 3 . What a great place to stay - we will be back!

    Victoria2015-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a stunning home! My wife and I came to Alabama for a business/pleasure trip and shortly after arriving, found that everything exceeded our expectations. We both required wifi for work and my wife has back issues. She slept wonderfully in the comfortable bed and neither of us have anything bad to say about this beautiful home. The host was very accommodating. Easy check in and out. Communication was outstanding. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. Clean, beautiful, spacious home. Thanks for a great stay!

One of the oldest homes in Albertville, sleeps up to 12. Large and comfortable IDEAL for weddings or entertaining. Front porch and big back yard! 5 minutes to Lake Guntersville, close to Huntsville, Birmingham & Chattanooga. Visit Cathedral Caverns, High Falls, NASA Space Center even Nashville! Words cant describe how beautiful!
This is one of the first homes ever built in Albertville. Original house is from 1870's. My grandfather built the extension of the family room and used varnished Ponderosa Pine on wall sand ceiling! Wooden shutters make this room so cozy and bright!
Nice neighbors who I've know for most of my life. "Downtown" Albertville is just a few blocks away and has a wonderful restaurant, Sebastians and a very popular Pizza House, Maters!
  • Aimee was a wonderful host and this home was exactly as it is described on the website. She was very accommodating as I had to make rushed plans and come to town with family from over 800 miles away for a funeral. I found it be quite a unique, vintage place! It has a lot of character and space and would be great for a family gathering or reunion (a happy occasion!). The location is good and very close to down town Albertville.

    Jewel2015-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Like the host says this is a older house but very clean. Everything that you need in the kitchen and nice BBQ pit for outside. We sat outside and enjoyed the singing of birds and watching the squirrels.

  • We stayed in the "Southern Beauty" in Albertville, and it was a very positive experience. The original house is clearly old enough to qualify as "historic,"b ut has modern additions where it matters (like, kitchen and bathrooms, and wifi/tv). The rooms are spacious and welcoming - very nice for groups - and the room air conditioners kept them comfortable. There are 3 "proper bedrooms" with double beds, very nicely appointed, plus other "sleeping spaces" (couches/daybeds, etc.) that add up to a lot of guest room. Aimee was very good about communication. It was a pleasure to work with her, and we would definitely stay here again.

    Linda2014-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee was in contact with us and made herself available.

    Rhonda2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We found the house just as the listing described. The décor is vintage, comfortable, and charming. Aimee stayed true to the period in which her grandmother lived in the house. We were to visit cousins in the area without incurring a large motel bill or overloading our local cousins with house guests. This house was just what we needed. One evening we invited the local cousins over for supper (we picked up barbeque to serve) and a Scrabble tournament. There was plenty of room for everyone indoors, and plenty of room for parking.

    Mary Jane2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The home and the accommodations were everything I expected because description of the house and facilities were accurate. Aimee was very nice to work with. It was a great place to stay.

    Steven2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had traveled to Northern Alabama for a funeral. Aimee went out of her way to accomodate us during our brief stay. The house was very comfortable and cozy. The weather was not so great, lots of snow and very cold. The house was warm and the beds were very comfortable. This home became a perfect sanctuary to rest, relax, and decompress after a difficult day. I would definetly stay here again!!

    Pam2015-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had excellent communication before, during and after our stay with the homeowner, Aimee. She is extremely pleasant and easy to deal with. When we arrived at the home, we accidentally set off the alarm system. A quick call to Aimee got us the shut-off code and an apology, as the cleaning crew, there the morning before we arrived, must have set the alarm. At that point we began to explore the house. Wow!! While not the most modern house, it was very roomy and very comfortable. The kitchen was HUGE! The formal dining room was very tastefully decorated. The living room, again a very large room, too, even has a piano. If we had not been in town to work, I could have spent hours on the full-width front porch. I can only imagine a rain shower and a good cup of coffee sitting out there! Two bedrooms and a full bath downstairs; one bedroom and full bath upstairs; plus a daybed downstairs all made for comfortable sleeping arrangements. My Team and I had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to come back here again!!

This listing is close to Jacksonville State University, restaurants / dining, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood, the comfy bed, and the kitchen. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. The bathroom is private for your stay. No invited guest are allowed during your stay for security reasons. I will be available to you by phone if I have to step out during your stay. (I own one indoor cat---not allowed in bedrooms).
Walking distance to the JSU Stadium for football games! (You will not have to worry about parking).
  • Ken's home was very close to the JSU campus. We were comfortable walking to the town square as well as to the campus and stadium. I highly recommend Ken's home. It's very comfortable and he's a terrific host! From the decor to the Las Vegas fold of his towels, you will very much enjoy your stay with Ken in Jacksonville!

  • Ken was an excellent host. He was very accommodating to my girlfriend arriving later than intended after biking 102mi. and he even greeted us with a tray of freshly baked cookies. He has a wonderful house, the bed was excellent, and the company was great.

  • Our flight landed late afternoon in a city 100 miles from the host's location. The directions he gave were excellent and we kept in touch as we traveled from the airport. Ken came home to greet us and show us the house. He was not at home a lot because of his commitments at the university but was always friendly when he was. We had many interesting conversations about work, travel and music. The room was very nice and comfortable and enjoyed making friends with his cat Chloe.

  • Ken is an amazing host. He went out of his way to accommodate my arrival and departure needs. With a lovely home in an easy to find location he is definitely going to be on my list of places to continue to stay. The little extra amenities he offers and kindness he extended made my trip perfect. Although not a coffee drinker, he had coffee available as well as an assortment of goodies and snacks. Truly a gem & a wonderful host! Thank you for the sight-seeing tips as well - the view was amazing!

This is one of our country's historic homes which can be found in the Library of Congress. The land was purchased by Dr. John Nisbet from Chief Ladiga and the home was built in 1838. Step back in time and enjoy a glass of sweet tea in Dixie!
Chief Ladiga room is a spacious room with King size bed, t.v. with Netflix, and of course towels and freshly ironed linens on the bed! !The bathroom is just off the central hall upstairs and will have shampoo, shower gel etc... if you forgot your hair dryer, toothbrush? Not a problem, we have extras! You are staying just 3 blocks from the town square and are less than a mile from the Ladiga Trail which is a rails to trails bike/walking trail that connects to the Silver Comet Trail in GA.
  • This is a great value! Cloud-like beds, beautiful home filled with antiques, and a wonderful host. The best part is a gourmet breakfast that will leave you feeling extra special! Close to downtown and JSU. Wonderful stay and host!

    Beth2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely neighborhood, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Hostess was charming, house and grounds beautiful. Very convenient access to Chief Ladiga trail, which was a great ride.

  • Jill is the most welcoming hostess- before she even knew us, we were rushing to get ready for a wedding and she was ironing our clothes for us! We decided to stay an extra day with her. Breakfast is provided, and she makes first class food. It's not the typical bacon and eggs like at a hotel, she made us blueberry French toast casserole, Greek quiche, and excellent snacks were always available. I highly recommend staying with Jill, and we will be back if we are ever in the area!

    Lauren2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jill was nothing short of amazing. She made us feel like family, gave us space when needed and a blast to have coffee with in the morning. Extremely generous in sharing her home with us. The property was impressive online, but even better to see in person. Jill's decorating style made our stay feel warm and comfortable. There was no skimping in bed comfort, everything we needed and two AMAZING breakfasts. We were visiting our son at JSU and she even made breakfasts for him to join us each morning. This property is a gem, you won't be disappointed.

    Dean2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The B&B setting was just beautiful as we drove up to the home. Jill came out to our car as we arrived and gave us a warm welcome. Shortly after our arrival, Jill gave us a tour of the home. It is a historical home that has been completely updated and renovated with the modern conveniences we all are accustomed to. Our bedroom was just perfect. The bed and pillows and sheets were incredibly comfortable and luxurious, which made for a good night’s sleep. Jill is a fabulous chef. All the food she served was homemade and absolutely delicious. Jill always had some freshly baked treats waiting for us to enjoy (with little sweet notes), as we went in and out throughout our weekend stay. She just made us feel so special. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone and any family, but especially to anyone who is visiting JSU because it is very conveniently located close to the campus. If I could give Jill more than 5 stars, I would. We had such a delightful experience and stay at her B&B, and much of it was because of Jill’s exceptional cordiality, warmth and Southern Hospitality.

    Marc2015-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • I found The House on the Hill to be an ideal place to stay, and I expect it would be ideal for anyone visiting the area. I visited for business, a research trip. This B&B is centrally located. The Jacksonville town square is an easy walk of about two blocks or less, where there are boutiques and a wonderful coffee shop (which serves food and has WiFi). The House on the Hill has excellent WiFi and other amenities any business or other traveler might need. There is a stocked coffee and tea center outside the rooms. I made coffee early in the morning before breakfast, and tea in the late evening. Breakfast by the hostess, Jill, was out of this world. I still think about it, and honestly don’t know when I will ever again enjoy such exquisite delights. I stayed in the Chief Ladiga room which is spacious, comfortable, well-lit, and finely appointed -- as is the whole house. In the Chief Ladiga room there is a desk at which I worked quite a lot; a sizable desk, with a leather chair. All the photos here of the rooms and house are accurate. I will certainly choose to stay at House on the Hill again in the future.

  • Jill is an incredible host. She took care of us before we even set foot into her lovely home. The accommodations are more than comfortable. Jill's breakfast is not your typical eggs and bacon, it's more sophisticated than your typical fare. My fiancé and I loved staying with her and actually extended our stay with her after enjoying her company and her home so much. Thanks Jill for being such a gracious host

  • What a wonderful visit we had at the Guntersville Fish Camp!!! The kids really had fun making s'mores with the ingredients that Cheryl had left for us. We had our dog with us and the large fenced yard was perfect for her. There was plenty of room for us. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. Everything was very clean and made us feel like we were at home. The public boat launch was nearby. The kids walked over there several times and talked to the fishermen. We look forward to coming again.

  • We was extremely pleased with this rental. We had my husband and I with 3 kids as well as my father-in-law. The place was very clean and located in a quiet neighborhood. The neighbors themselves were extremely welcoming and nice to talk with. The biggest perks for us was that there was a boat house located directly on the water. We was able to store our boat there and not take it out everyday. When we did use the dock it was only 2.5 miles away. There are some stores if you need anything about 6 miles away. I also enjoyed the back porch that was completely enclosed. Our smallest one is under 2, but very mobile so this helped with her. The host was very easy to work with and quickly responded to any questions. The kids enjoyed the loft that was right outside the upstairs bedroom. It had a separate TV and couch for them to use. There was a nice laundry room, but I did not use it. The only negative would be it's a little smaller than I expected but it didn't bother us. Also the couch wasn't very comfortable, but we spent most of our time outdoors. Overall a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it.

We had an issue with the boat dock power, but they had it fixed by the next morning after we called. The house is spacious and very comfortable, not to mention beautiful! The amenities listed definitely lived up to expectations and everything in the house was in working order. It is a little bit of a drive on a very curvy road, but the privacy and view are worth it! • This was our move on son to college/mini-vacation hub. Close enough to Jacksonville State to help him move in, far enough away that he didn't feel like we were just hanging around hovering over him. Quiet and secluded and perfect for a few days of relaxing, reading, cool off in the lake, sit on the porch and just breathe. Everything was clean, well stocked, well organized. House was way too big for just the 2 of us but it was the location that made our decision. It was exactly what we were looking for. We found eclipse glasses and watched the eclipse from the dock. Centre AL was a 15 min drive for groceries at Ingles; Gadsden AL about 30 min drive for fried cat fish and hush puppies at Top Of The River. We enjoyed a day at the Little River Canyon National Preserve. We weren't "looking" for things to do but enjoyed what we found. Lisa was very accessible by text and email and was a great host. We plan to be back next summer for a longer stay! Highly recommend this house!

  • James is very kind and generous. During our stay he made sure that my two kids were happy and were able to explore the grounds. They were able to feed his horses, fish in his ponds, ride his four wheeler and he even offered horse riding lessons. However, the house itself was in disrepair. Two door nobs leading to the outside fell off during our stay. The railings leading up to the house were unstable and could have really hurt someone who leaned on them, and the heat downstairs did not work for three of the four days we stayed. The heat not working unfortunately lead to members of our family leaving and renting a hotel nearby. While James tried his best to remedy most of the situations that occurred, we were still frustrated by the lack of heat as well as the random visitors that came and went during our stay. I also contacted him asking for a partial refund due to the heat not working and he has yet to reply. Overall, our stay in the house was okay. If James repairs the items listed above I would recommend him as a host.

  • We had such a wonderful time with James. It was wonderful to be invited into his home. We were so, so comfortable. Our room was large with a beautiful view of the ponds and horse pastures. Nice linens, very comfortable bed. He was incredibly generous with his time and with his beautiful Paso Fino purebred horses. I was able to ride multiple times during our stay, which was a great joy to me. We were late arriving and he texted us some tips to find his place since (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps often sends people to the wrong side of his property. Very considerate. He also gave us many dining, driving and entertainment tips for Anniston. We are already planning our next stay and so are our business associates in the area. This was an incredible experience for us. We even were invited to Sunday dinner at his mother's house. I plan to make time to go fishing in the ponds on our next trip!
