Central Maine USA! Lakeside, Nature Lover's Paradise-NICE FUNky Camp: Quiet, BBQ, fish, boats, hike, bike, firepit play/sporty/leaf peep, ski, snow tube, & ice fish. Boston 3 hrs, near Portland. Romantic Get A Way, Rustic Retreat: can sleep 4-up to 8 See MANY Pics, great kitchen, hot shower and a claw foot tub upstairs in the bedroom- ahhhh! so sorry but No Pets anymore, please.
FUNky, COMfY, cozy, Big Wood stove.. NICE Old Camp!!..."Nature Lovers Paradise- Lakeside" is a popular, comfortable and very cozy FOUR SEASON Camp...sleep, BBQ, right on the water's or ice edge! Has a lakeside setting, Outdoor kitchen, 4 burner Gas BBQ, Big Wood Stove, a computerized furnace, DISH TV and a dishwasher. A Really Cool very Rustic Camp centrally located for 4 Season fun and other Maine attractions. Not only hiking and biking nearby, close enough to drive to both ocean, hiking trails, and ski lodges. Plus other sports like: snow tubing, X country ski, ATV.. or walk/ snowmobile from yard, lake or road onto nearby trails plus more. Very convenient.. too much fun to imagine! Or just plain veg. out and just plain do relaxing, cook, play games, watch old videos during cooler/wetter weather times, or go eat out! "WE REST YOUR TOES WHILE YOU REST YOUR (URL HIDDEN) this comfortable, perfectly imperfect sort of cluttered ole camp!" Only 3/4 hr. No. of Portland, ME. USA (Portland is a granola-like, ocean side city with a Jet Port) What to do? Lots: This popular.."perfectly not perfect, little ole camp" is on a nice LITTLE lake, that fast freezes, in the winter; unlike Thompson and Sabago lakes. IT IS NOT CROWDED WITH BOATS or jet skies, IN THE SUMMER EITHER. Since it is centrally located in Maine ...the drive times to attractions are 05 minutes to about an hour and a half +/-. At the camp: water play, row, canoe, beach, fish, wood fires, (scubba diving/wind sailing lessons booked ahead.) Inland you can hike, bike, go climbing or snowtubing, x country ski/snowshoe on Carters X country ski trails (15 kilometers of trails-with a warm up lodge, store and equipment rentals.) In addition...Ski nearby at 7 locations: Lost Valley, Shawnee Peak, Conway (Tourist Shopping, Mtn. Climbing and Ski Cranmore Mtn.,) Mt. Abrams, Sunday River Ski Resort, a day trip to Sugarloaf Mtn. is hearty; but I go, and it is my favorite resort and ski area. Snow Tubing is down the road a piece. It can be fun at night too; if coming in Fri night from the South, you can snow tube enroute in Windham, ME. At the camp, right out the door of my camp... I walk, x country ski or snow shoe on the lake, the dirt roads, or into the forest. You can snowmobile from here too, to the Casino, they say. There are some snowmobile woods trails- a short quick drive or walk up Rt 11 from my driveway. The snow mobile trails are usually packed and good for walking/snowshoeing/or X country skiing a few miles too.. I can also go skating if someone clears the ice off. Outside on the lower deck is a deck side fireplace chiminea, for sitting around on cushioned lawn chairs and basking in the summer or winter sun. Being on the lakeside in any season is so..beautiful when the sun pours in, to relax. There are many local restaurants (5 min. pizza, half hour/hr. almost anything you want) within many driving times for decent food so you do not have to cook in all the time. Yet, I have a fully equipped kitchen and there are three grocery, convenience stores, etc. 10-20 minute drives. Inside the Nature Lover's Paradise camp, enjoy: Dish TV, and a great big video library. Play video, DVD and music CD's, lots of games and cards, a grecco crib, kids toys. Feed a cozy wood stove. WIFI and modern appliances? YES! Hope this begins to help with your planning. A lot more description details follow. The place easily sleeps four, has 7 beds (3 beds sleep 2 people.) The cost is up to 175 per night and sometimes lowers (May 2016 through April 2017) plus a 65 cleaning fee. A 100 deposit is held on your cc about a week before arrival. When you book, you pay in full by cc plus some small AIRbnb fees. Since I do not know those air fees I can not quote them to you. Look for Air fees on the screen. After staying here, If you thought this camp is or is not a good value, I hope you will let me know?! At initial inquiry, please include your estimated number of guests. Note, after you book it, I can alter your number of people and pricing up, if your initial planning numbers are too low. ( ie: before arrival that day- if more people are going with you..it is ok, just communicate about it with your Host upon arrival.) Note: If the Air calendar says the dates are available feel free to book it without asking me first. If I have a rare issue I will simply Decline the booking and or do a discussion with you. If you can not pay now, ask your Host to reserve the dates. OK? Thank you! More planning details: You have just discovered a 1907 East Shore piece of PARADISE in the famous Poland Spring Area of Maine, USA. It is a cozy 1907's renovated camp; surrounded by "old growth pines and water." It is easy to get too. It's situated on popular Tripp Lake. On maps Tripp Lake is referred to as "Tripp Pond" But locally everyone calls it Tripp Lake. It is only a 3/4 hour North from Portland, it's 10 minutes from a Casino, and 15 minutes plus, to many attractions. (more details further on) For 67 years, our family's camp has slowly been maturing into a nicer little cottage, resting its old timbers only 22 feet from the water/ice. A "Great Place" for booking your vacation week, short stays, week end getaways or retreats. More about what to do there? This camp is centrally located between several great places: The drive time is 05 minutes to about an hour +: You can snow shoe on the Carters X country ski trails nearby (15 kilometers of trails , and 2 hrs. to Sugarloaf for Regee week end in late March/April spring skiing times! Many concierge services can also be available with pre-discussion and agreed upon additional fees. ie: Cooking, pick up at station or Casino .....just inquire, discuss and pay. How could I help you relax and safely arrive in a strange place to you? RELAX is the word here. Easy Does It! Enjoy the OUTDOORS and the hu ge old wood stove's heat for fun. For some people the brain shift to doing some camping and breaking the everyday routine is relaxing. This fun and funky place can do that for you, but you will have to leave the critic at home and bring a sense of humor: there are bugs, electric switches in strange places and clutter so do not tell the world in a review, please. If you are reaading this, the world already knows. Please do not hurt my ratings with criticisms...please go someplace else if you do not want a nice, campy, feeling! I do not advertize Luxury, I advertise Funky! This Lakeside camp feeling includes: THE site for EASY CAMPING METHODS: running lake water, hot running water, shower and tub, modern appliances, soft carpeting, wood beams, wood stove, computerized furnace, many beds and a lot more. "Lets camp and, deal with camp kind of stuff-just do something different! " LET"S HAVE SOME DYNAMICS! It is so PERFECTLY "not perfect," camping with the "fun in funky" that's still alive. Think of this central location this way: This "Nature Lovers Paradise-Lakeside" location is a four-season rest and recreation camp. You can easily STAY and PLAY or Go and PLAY. You can STAY and swim, water ski, canoe, kayak, hike, bike, ATV/UTV, X Country ski, skate, BBQ, cook, read ... do a lobster feed etc. Or GO AND PLAY to nature walks/golf at the Poland Spring Resort's course, walk the Preservation Park Nature Trails, do Agriculture Family Fun stuff, eat out, summer playhouse theaters, gamble at Oxford Casino, tourist shop Freeport, Portland or Conway, Portland Lighthouse, drive to the OOB pier & ocean/arcade, do snow sport day or night ski trips to Sunday River, Sugarloaf Ski Resort (s), Shawnee Peak, Lost Valley, Conway, tourist the White Mtns (N.H.), go to Fryeburg Maine's huge Country Fair (end of Sept), Plus, close to the cottage is the Poland Spring's STATE PARK big sandy beach(URL HIDDEN) Today Non Potable Water: Though certainly "A Chef's Paradise for cooking supplies" and cooking gear....we are used to the camp's cooking and showering with, but do not tend to drink, the LAKE WATER though; right now. The Owner Does Supply lots of fresh spring water... or feel free to bring your own label. This cottage and its running tap lake water is located on top of the famous and pristine Poland Springs aquifer's healing waters area. This camp is named "Nature Lovers Paradise- Lakeside!" You would be staying at a site between lake water, with a camp and other buildings with wood piles and stuff. It is up on slightly higher ground from the lake. A vernal pool: with bullfrogs, fairy shrimp and a bird sanctuary are behind the camp. Eventually, way out back are woods and higher ground. It is a somewhat of a perfect Feng Shui landscape site for resting. For summer, keep in mind that due to many breezes people say "this is NOT a "mosquitoes galore " buggy kind of place at all. All camps have bugs. But we are not one of the real buggy kind at all. Yippee!! Enjoy all kinds of Nature's critters and plants. Fish from the dock, and if you see a flea inside, feed it to a frog outside. (Just kidding of course.) Be real about camping expectations though. Please arrive and depart with an attitude of gratitude about Nature's little creatures. Try to leave your professional critic at home or in the office. The owner humbly wants you to know that simply due to the NATURE OF CAMPING please come prepared for a "true nature of camping." It is not perfect or uncluttered here. There is no tar, or grass to mow here. If you are a "tuned in reality camper," then great! The cottage yards are not only bright in the morning, as it faces East for Morning sun, it faces West where Sunsets are Born. The clutter is part or the character and decorations. Enjoy, Nature Lovers Paradise Lakeside... With its' East Shore setting...159' waterfront beach area, a dock, canoe, kayak, typical sandy bottom, lake grasses, sandy beach in season, fishing and lakeside views. Relax with 3 DECKS/ 5 grills: one large deck on the West side with charcoal and gas BBQs, a gas hotplate and running water double sink, an East side deck with a breakfast cafe table and charcoal BBQ. The 3rd lower level deck over the waterfront area (or skating rink,) has a deck fireplace and chairs. The lake and wharf style dock accommodates your water ski boat. Plus a big lakeside fire-pit gives the wood burning smells of camping.Yet, indoors the modern gas range ups your camp into a fully equipped cottage kitchen. Atmosphere Description: A single lane, wooded, private gravel drive curves toward the camp in a family, vacation minded neighborhood. Professional, family style NEIGHBORS, other renters, and the workshop, sauna, ice fishing house, and owner's bunkhouse/office- studio are close by. People, including the owner, quietly come and go. Synopsis: It is a private driveway, yet there are other buildings and people nearby doing stuff: campfires, fishing, swimming, boating, relaxed campfire talking, laughing, fireworks, children noises and mostly pretty quiet fun playing around types of activities. It is a "close/caring" and friendly neighborhood type of atmosphere, with weekly changing groups of company. In addition are the joyous sounds of the ELITE "Tripp Lake Camp" from across the lake during July and August only. Your yard/beach area feels pretty private in relationship to the many buildings around it. You are not in the wilderness. But if you want total privacy/wilderness...See my 2nd camp in Buckfield, Maine USA listing on Air...Nature Lovers Paradise - Mountainside! Right now approaching Summer it is very quiet. Summer and the forth of July week is the noisiest. Though a private setting, due to large yard and 156" total property beachside, it is usually a lot more quiet Sunday night on, during the week and after Labor Day weekend through leaf peeping season. In the winter it is pretty much a silent retreat. This is a 4 Season "Maine Paradise Rental" Now, come on.. take a tour INSIDE this comfortable, antique style cottage. It has an open floor plan. The main room is the 180 degree Lake View living room, which is framed with large rough beams, earth tones, wall to wall carpeting, splashes of color. Stepping out of the living room toward the fully equipped kitchen you will find pine slab counter tops, oak floors, a cozy dining area with a bay window facing the lake's sunsets in a cafe-like setting. A huge and wonderful wood stove, along with all the wood supplies, heats the whole place in the winter (along with a monitor- computerized furnace.) Welcome good heart campers and tired travelers! There are TWO BEDROOMS, one up and one downstairs. 1.The first downstairs bedroom comes with two small windows, good ventilation, a bunkbed and Queen memory foam bed. It is located off the living room. Door opens into a 3/4bathroom. An open concept space that goes into the living room is closed off by the old beautiful piano. Yes, there is no wall on that side of the room. the heavy piano is quite a wall in itself. Video TV is also in this bedroom along with a large video library. 2. A short, steep stairway leads upstairs to another bedroom, complete with a double futon, single bed, Victorian chair, ceiling fan, AC, windows overlooking the lake plus an ancient claw foot tub; with its gold painted toe nails- enticing you to REST YOUR TRAVELING TOES AND SOULS! There is a DVD and Video TV upstairs too. You can "watch" it while; in the tub. Or just lay back and relax, then dry off and flop into bed. 3.The Living Room has a double bed couch and right next to an open window by the lake is a favorite 3/4 memory foam (two mattresses) bed, on the floor, facing DISH TV. • This hidden gem exceeded our expectations in every way! Cozy, beautiful, a perfect spot for a retreat with friends, with several beds that are so close to the lake that you almost feel as though you might roll right into the water if not for the glass window. Trudy clearly puts so much love into the cabin and the land, and we could feel it every moment we were there.

    Sasha2013-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Trudy was a wonderful host and the cabin is fantastic. The views are gorgeous and the camp is so well situated on the lake. We had a great time hosting a BBQ and playing in the water. The kids enjoyed canoeing. I highly recommend Tripp Lake and Trudy's camp!

  • Trudy was very welcoming and responsive. The cottage is well equipped in every way, in a simply beautiful setting.

  • This house is the absolute best. A getaway gem, fully stocked with anything you might need to escape into heaven. The lake the house is on is gorgeous and the house comfortable can accommodate a good number of people. Trudy is so sweet and a very hospitable host. She was considerate and flexible and always willing to help us.

  • Perfect place for nice-calm vacation!! Will visit sometime again!! Trudy is great host!!

    Dhanendra2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Trudy is an A-1 host. We arrived in March for the weekend with plenty of snow. We had everything available that we could possibly need for amenities. We were welcome to use any of her personal supplies. She made sure we knew where everything was. The cottage was clean & warm. We loved the antique woodstove, and all the cozy places to lounge. She went above and beyond to accommodate us-including shopping for an ingredient I had left at home. The place was just what we needed for our family to reconnect. As soon as we walked in my daughter said "This is exactly what I always wanted". There were maybe 3-4 snowmobiles on the pond which we could not even hear at all. The restaurant nearby Mac's Grill, 10-15min away was excellent. The 5 of us wanted to go there both nights the food was great (must try the coconut shrimp & onion rings no one had a bad meal). They told us 45-60min wait but only waited 10-15 both nights. The teens watched DVDs upstairs and adults watched Dishnet TV downstairs. The dock was just beautiful. The view is scenic-not just other camps across the lake. The only complaint would be that not all the beds were soft. Have to try them all out first. Thank you again, Trudy!

    Patricia2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful getaway! Upon arrival we found that Trudy had prepped the cottage with a roaring fire in the woodstove and gave us a great tour of the cabin's layout and quirks (which proved to be an immensely helpful orientation) before leaving us to enjoy the camp. The space is well stocked with everything you'd need from relaxing with some reading, a game, or some movies to cooking in the fully equipped kitchen and relaxing with the beautiful view of Tripp Lake out the kitchen windows. While we were visiting over New Years, we were able to get outside and found the lakeside roads perfect for our morning run. But the camp itself is well stocked for waterborne activities as well. We look forward to having another opportunity to visit in the warmer months and enjoying the space with a group of friends and family.

    Roger2015-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Trudy hosted a sizable group of us with a relatively last minute booking, and was very flexible and accommodating. She was very communicative, made sure we knew how to operate everything in the house, particularly the wood stove. Her place was cozy, fun, and very well outfitted with cooking supplies. The lake is stunning, and the cabin is truly right on the water's edge. All in all it was a great trip, and we would be excited to return in the summer!

The decor is very classic and minimal, and highlights the feel of this 1930’s house. Brian is extremely helpful and responsive, as well as non-invasive. There is a beautiful, riverfront backyard which also features a hot tub! 10/10 I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • This was my first experience with an Airbnb, and I didn't know what to expect. Nancy was very accommodating, especially when my son's schedule changed and I got in late. As a mom and a teacher, Nancy is very easy to talk to, and I enjoyed learning a bit about the area beyond the Bates campus. After a long, lively day, I appreciated the quiet and slept soundly.

  • This home is light-filled and more expansive than it would seem from the outside. I am an "old house" lover and found it and it's wonderful owners welcoming and peaceful. Kathleen made super recommendations for dinner options and a wonderful pond to visit.

  • Clean and comfortable! Great place to stay while working in the area!

  • I had a great time at Kathleen and John's house. The room is very comfy, as is the house... and the deck! It's everything you need plus more. Kathleen and John are very helpful folk - they steered me to good bikes rides and the coffee shop! One bonus was that I enjoyed getting to know them, at least a little bit. Highly recommended.

**We grow medicinal cannabis and are a 420 friendly establishment** Our 8-bedroom 1950's modern mansion offers the ultimate in relaxation. Your suite features a plush king-size bed, private living area with fold-out sofa bed for additional guests, & private bathroom with shower & separate tub. 24/7 access to pool & spa. Explore our 16-acre estate & nearby conservation land. Quick access to Bates College, CMMC and downtown Lewiston. Continental breakfast served daily.
We are working every day to restore the intrinsic 1950's modern charm of this historic home. All of our living areas feature fine furnishings from a partnership with a local Maine art, antique, and furniture gallery. Keep an eye out for our flock of free range chickens and friendly farm dog, Crypto. We grow a variety of plants and herbs, including medicinal cannabis and during the height of our harvest season the plants can be quite aromatic. With the recent legalization of cannabis we are happy to share our efforts with interested guests, must be 21 and over :-)
Located just minutes from shopping conveniences and downtown Lewiston/Auburn. Less than ten minutes to Bates College!
  • John and Alex's place is enormous! There's a pool, hot tub, and the King Suite is comfy and spacious. There are plants on the front lawn and chickens further back. Super relaxing and therapeutic. Even though they just started their Air BNB this year, their space has a lot to offer. This Air BNB is great for anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet weekend away from the city. The location is close to Lewiston and not too far from Portland (~40 minutes). As other guests have pointed out the breakfast included is very good and John and Alex are really nice, yet non-intrusive. Overall, a great value in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

    Ronald2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Alex and John are great hosts, we felt very welcomed! Their house and the guest rooms are really big and we loved the huge bed! They made sure we had everything we needed even though we stayed only for one night. We had a great stay and loved the chickens and their dog Crypto!

    Elisa2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • John and Alex were great hosts. We arrived late and they welcomed us, offering us to join then for a BBQ. To room was perfect, spacious, clean and comfortable. The views out the back over their Cannabis Vineyard were spectacular. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and John joined us, keen to chat and make us feel welcome. Thanks and good luck with your venture.

    Lindsay2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • John and Alexandra are great AirBnB hosts and their place was perfect for our trip to the Pinelands Farm Trail Festival in New Gloucester. Large, clean room with beautiful view of Maine countryside, access to hot tub and pool, tasty homemade muffins for breakfast...was a great find at a good price, and so close to Lewiston/Auburn. They are continuing to renovate and improve the property, and we hope to make it back over time to see the changes. We didn't have time to use the game and TV room, but that looked like it would offer rainy day distraction or a cozy night in when needed.

    Michelle2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for visiting Bates Very comfortable king bed and lovely view of foliage through bedroom picture window

    Susan2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great, especially since we booked our stay last minute and got in late. It was nice we were able to cook dinner at 9pm without feeling like we were bothering other guests. John and Alex were awesome, and they had breakfast already out for when we woke in the morning. Also, the property was beautiful!

    Catelyn2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • John and Alex were super sweet and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring their property and learning more about their business ventures. Definitely recommend staying for a unique experience that I'm sure will only get better in time.

  • Best bud and breakfast in Maine 100% guaranteed. As a first timer doing a bed and breakfast, I have to say, I think I prefer this style of travelling more than regular places without hosts. John and Alex, our hosts, were absolutely amazing. They welcomed us when we arrived, gave us a tour of the house, and were very approachable. The continental breakfast included was delicious every morning. The outdoor space is just as beautiful as the indoor space. They provided us with everything that we needed even though we didnt need much. This place is a MUST if you are travelling to Maine, love the outdoors, love animals (dog and chickens), and are looking for a great time! Thanks again Jon & Alex, hope to see you again soon and by then Crypto will be all grown up! :) cheers

This is a private room in a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house right by the Androscoggin River. The house is walking distance to downtown Lewiston-Auburn and is also well-positioned to major roadways for easy access to Freeport, Portland, etc. For larger parties, there is a second bedroom across from the first with a double bed available, as well as a sleeper chair for one.
The well-lit, dual aspect bedroom includes a full bed and nightstand, plus a reading nook by the double window. With a closet and two sets of built-in drawers, there is plenty of storage for one or two people. For parties of three or more, there is a second bedroom across the hall with a full bed and plenty of storage. There is also a sleeper chair suitable for a fifth guest if needed. Both rooms have their own electric heat and A/C. The two bedrooms are the only rooms upstairs, so there is plenty of privacy. Your private bathroom is located on the ground floor, next to your sitting room, but a wall between the staircase and the main living room provides some separation for you if I am home. Please see the rough floor plan in the photos. Please note that using the second bedroom does not double the price on the listing. You would be charged only the extra person rate of $10 per person for each additional guest after the first two. The Airbnb listing does not allow me to include two bedrooms under a Room in a House type of listing, so if you are a party of 3-5, please ignore anything that suggests it is only one room.
This part of Auburn is called New Auburn and is close to the downtown areas of Auburn and Lewiston. The Androscoggin River is a block away and a ten minute stroll gets you to the lovely River Walk to downtown. Within a five minute walk are a local grocery, a farm market/cafe, and several diners and restaurants. Walking 15-20 minutes to town, you will find numerous bars, cafes, and restaurants; a larger supermarket; two libraries; parks; churches; and more. Alongside the river is Route 136, which takes you to the famous LL Bean and other shopping opportunities in downtown Freeport (a 25-minute drive). From there you can hit I-295 to Portland (a 45-minute drive in total) or you can travel to other points in Maine via the turnpike, I-95, a ten-minute drive away. For those visiting schools, both Bates College and USM's Lewiston-Auburn campus are within a ten-minute drive.
  • Great host, comfortable enough rooms. Will stay again.

  • Shelly was a wonderful host. She steered us to a nearby place which was difficult due to our late night arrival. The room was exactly as described. We enjoyed our stay

  • Shelley is a great host who makes sure you have everything you need. Great overall experience, and there is an adorable cat!

    Tiffany2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Shelley was a great host, she was extremely hospitable and welcoming throughout my time with her. The home is nice as cozy and the pictures are fairly accurate. The house is located close enough to walk to most things around town if prefered, but everything is close enough to drive to. Portland and freeport are also extremely close (40 minutes and 25 minutes respectively). I will definitely be back again if I need a place to stay in the Northeast.

  • Shelley was a nice host and very easy to communicate with. She provided me with everything I needed. Her place is conveniently located in a lovely neighborhood near Bates College and some good restaurants and stores. The room was comfortable and exactly as described. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

  • Shelley was a fantastic host! She made us feel very welcome and was very accommodating. The room was just as advertised and was very cozy. Shelley's home is in a nice neighborhood close to the center of Auburn and just across the river from Lewiston. Next time we are in the area, we will certainly come back!

Our space is bright and spacious. We have two bedrooms and a living room and dining room. The apartment is on the third floor of the building, which we own, and is quiet. We are walking distance from Bates (3 mins) and downtown Lewiston (10 mins).
  • Great place to stay. Very spacious, quite, friendly, and in a central location. Process from booking the reservation to departing was flawless and Julie was always willing to assist. Great host, great apartment. Would recommend!

  • Julie was a great host! Very accommodating and gave the best food suggestions for the area. The place is very clean and has plenty of space. Great location. Would definitely stay again.

  • Great place. Made for a fun time.

    Dan2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was a nice stay, we didn't get chance to meet Julie as we arrived late and were busy by the graduation, but she made our arrival easy and apartment is very clean, comfortable with great living space. Super convenient for the students or family who are visiting Bates college, you can't get a better location than this. The only weakness is the bed is not comfortable, too soft for us. Thank you again Julie.

  • The place is very comfortable and roomy - it exceeded our expectations!

    Aislinn2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Julie was quick to respond to my inquiry, and the entire trip was easy and stress-free. We found our way in easily and felt quite at home in the spacious apartment. The perfect place for a quick stop (or a longer one!). Clean, quiet, convenient.

    London2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Julie was communicative prior to our arrival and gave us clear instructions on how to get into the apartment. The place was clean, comfortable and in a great location for our overnight between Vermont and the AMC Lodges outside of Greenville, Maine. There was plenty of room for all six of us. We hope to stay again next year on the way to our annual Maine ski vacation!

    Jessa2016-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was a gem of a find. Julie was a gracious and welcoming host. The place was clean, spacious and very well situated if you are visiting Bates College. We walked to Bates college and Forage market. We even were able to cook a meal for my daughter and her friends. We could not have asked for more.

This is our first home, we totally renovated it ourselves and are super proud of it! It is a 1920 cape with 2 floors, 4 bedroom, 2 bath, driveway and a large yard. You would have the private master bedroom and access to the 1.5 bathrooms in the home. Use what you would like, just please be tidy and respectful. We have a couple of cats who live in the home with us, they will hang out with you if you want them too... just please keep them indoors.
Bed is a queen temprapedic, and it is a dream! The house is 100 years old and has charm. There is a yard, fire pit, grill to use, and a driveway to park in.
Safe neighborhood, 2 miles to Bates College and downtown Auburn.
  • Nice home and a spacious, comfortable room! Would recommend the place for a stay in Auburn / Lewiston area to any couple or single traveler. Communication with hosts was easy. Thanks!

  • Lovely house with warm owners. Close to nice local restaurants, LL Bean, and Auburn is a nice base if you plan on exploring Maine.

    Jazzmin2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Allie was an Excellent host, her house was very tidy and quaint. The bed we stayed in was definitely high off the ground which we were well aware of before our visit. We are animal lovers, so were thrilled that the house had fur babies roaming around. The diner located right down the road was recommended to us by Allie, it was to die for.. Rolly's its a must if you stay here. I would surely recommend this place to others!

    Rachael2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Allie has a beautiful home set in a quiet location in Auburn. I felt relaxed, comfortable and welcome there.

  • Amazing place, Allie and Brian were incredibly welcoming hosts. Their place is beautifully renovated and is an easy drive to anywhere that we needed to get to. The space is clean and they have two friendly cats, would totally recommend this place!

    mereil2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Allie and Brian’s Home was absolutely lovely. The room we stayed in was stylish, tidy, and had a super comfortable bed and pillows. From the start, Allie was extremely welcoming and great with communications. This was mine and my fiancé’s first Airbnb stay, and it couldn’t have gone better! We were in town for my younger brother’s wedding. It turned out that my brother needed a place to stay the night before the wedding; and since I wouldn’t be in the room that night, we asked if he could stay with my fiancé instead of me. Allie was totally accepting of this guest change, and gave him and my fiancé easy check in directions. My brother does have a cat allergy, but the room was clean and he was fine staying there with the door closed. (If you love cats this is such a great place because hers are SO sweet and cuddly.) On the wedding night, my fiancé and I came in late and there was no issue with that. I unfortunately never got the chance to meet her or Brian, but I still felt extremely welcomed. They had towels all set for us and the bed made which was so great after a very long weekend. Overall, they were wonderfully flexible and accommodating.

    Allie2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Close to downtown.

    Olivia2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Allie and Brian's house was great. Their house is cosy, clean and nicely decorated. There was an AC in the bedroom and the bed was comfortable. The house had everything we needed. I also appreciated a chance to use the washer and the dryer. Coffee in the morning was tasty. We are grateful to our hosts for the recommendations on seeing the Balloon festival and where to eat. I would definitely stay there again and I recommend the place to anyone going to Lewiston or Auburn.

Our place was designed to accomodate a few dogs while their people are adventuring in central Maine. It is located in a cul-de-sac style community, you do have neighbors on each side but they are kind and quiet. It isn't a posh place, but it is convenient. It is close to restaurants, grocery stores, family-friendly activities, easy access to 95, near public boat launch into Androscoggin River, many dog friendly trails with-in less than an hour.
This home can best be described as a unique combo of rustic and utilitarian. A home by dog people for dog people. We know you never want to leave your fur-baby behind and made the most dog-friendly, cost efficient space we could. It has a quaint kitchenette with a full stove top/oven and a small microwave. Open dining space and small chill space with chairs, tv ,Roku and dvd player. It's a little quirky with it's odd spaces, but it is cozy just the same. Brand new half-bath, with a flexible hand shower, making bathing Fido after a hike easy-peasy. Large bedroom with queen bed has great views of the Androscoggin and catches the sunset over the water. It gets frequent sightings of Hot Air Balloons late summer through late Fall. The smaller room with a cozy twin bed receives beautiful morning light.
A unique cul-de-sac style community has low traffic and kind neighbors. Breakfast : You must go to Forage Market for bagels and coffee! The bagels are made in house and were recently featured in Down East magazine. Rolly's Diner is delish and has a fun atmosphere, they serve breakfast and lunch. Lunch/Dinner: Rails has some great locally sourced options and an extensive beer menu. Fishbones is a more upscale option of classic American fare. Gritty's has in-house made beer and classic pub fare. My favorite menu item is the pork fries (shredded pork on sweet fries with cheese and maple sour cream...., nom, nom, nom)
  • Highly recommened.

  • Danielle's place is very cozy. I think what stood out the most was all of the updated fixtures and efforts to make it warm and cozy. The mattress was excellent, very comfortable bedding, The kitchen appliances and shower fixtures have all been updated in this quaint home. My dog loved the fenced-in backyard and the little bit of freedom it provided off leash. Danielle was responsive to questions about the TV and anything else I inquired about throughout my stay. A lovely and courteous owner.

  • This was perfect. Exactly what we needed and our pup loved it. Barely needed to bring anything for her as so much was provided and readily accessible. Highly recommend even at 6' tall and 225lbs myself. Definitely would consider coming back on another Maine trip! Everything was wonderful. :)

The bed was great and the house was tidy and quiet. I do not have dogs, but this house is certainly set up for them! For those that do not have pets, do not worry, the house was clean and odor-free.

Amy is available by text or phone and was often away, so most of the time you have the place all to yourself! Workstation in room and plenty of space to move around. Comfy bed and a nice closet. An entire house in a dead-end quiet in-town neighborhood. Hundred years old, almost fully remodeled two floors ( some renovations still in progress). . Enjoy the peace and quiet and the closeness to all amenities. For your convenience we offer chef services, ask for details.
First floor off the deck, has a brand new kitchen, den with wood stove, formal dining room and living room plus 1 bedroom and bath. The second floor only partial remodeled has 1 bedroom and a 3/4 bath (shower). The deck faces the back of the house and a private deck.
It is a quiet older neighborhood overlooking the town. The houses are well taken care off and range from middle level to high.
  • Ariela's house was most welcoming as she provided a welcome pack and had some light music plying in the background. The house is very spacious and it has all the equipment necessary for self catering. The house is close to ameneties in Auburn and not far from the I95. She has a querky little shop (store) in the house that sells trinkets.

    Liz2017-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ariela's house is fantastic! Clean, super spacious, very family friendly, well equipped kitchen, great yard. Couldn't ask for more!

    Jeanne2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ariela's house was perfect for my purposes since I was in the area for business. Has a nice kitchen to make a quick breakfast and coffee, very clean and comfortable, and it's located in a very quiet neighborhood. The caretaker was nearby and helpful. This could be a perfect spot for people visiting their child at nearby Bates College. There are some lovely restaurants nearby in Lewiston, along with pubs and cideries. Mostly tho, it's a pleasant place to relax and have down time. Thanks Ariela!

    Beth2015-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at Ariela's. We've actually tried a couple of other times but the dates were booked. Everything is as pictured except that the house is so much larger than the photos show. Beautiful windows and high ceilings make relaxing in the living room a pleasure.

    Paula2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first air bnb booking. And our experience was amazing. The caretaker, Micheal, was very accommodating and communication with the owners was easy. Micheal came to check in on us the next day since we had arrived so late in the night. He and his son was so sweet, they came bearing gifts. Micheal is a chef so he brought us some tomatoes and basil (I'm assuming from his garden) and his son let our 2 yr old nephew borrow his chair that was hand sewn by his mother! When we arrived, we were blown away by the size of the house. It literally had everything you need for your stay and more! The owners and caretakers pretty much have their visitors in mind (they even had children's blanket set up on the futon with a cute fluffy teddy bear waiting for my nephew). The moment you step in the house you're greeted by a pamphlet of the history of the house, maps of the area and a list of things to do in maine. Our favorite place was the deck in the backyard. In the mornings we had breakfast out there as my nephew ran around in the grass soaking up the morning sun. This was really refreshing for us since we live in an urban area and our yard is all pavement and filled with cars -_-. Anyways, I definitely recommend staying here and I would come again when I have a chance!

    Rima2015-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ariela's home is just as described. It has an updated kitchen, a beautiful dining room and a comfortable living room. She has plenty of added touches that differentiate: chocolates on the kitchen table, a few items in the fridge like milk butter and ice cream, and coffee for the keurig. The beds are comfortable, the towels are plush, and the place is clean. The deck is private and very relaxing. I would definitely stay again.

    Charles2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely house on a dead end street. My girlfriend and I were very happy with our choice to stay in Arielas in-town home. A small selection of free food was offered, perfect for snacking and supplementing the items we brought along. Would definitely stay again!

  • The host made it easy for us to get into the house, the care takers were very nice. It was a clean, quiet place! So roomy, and they had some complimentary snacks that were awesome!! Area is very quiet with house on a private road. Lots of local convienences and restaurants within a short drive.
  • We had a lovely week long stay at Dan's place. There is a beautiful view of the lake from the bedroom and living room. The house is nicely appropriated with a big screen t.v. and kitchen suitable for cooking lobster and small meals. The shower was surprisingly nice. Outside there is a deck area with a dog line, tiki torches, mini barbecue and hung lights which is a nice place to enjoy morning coffee or watch the sunset over the lake. As others have mentioned there is a large stair case to get up to the property so it wouldn't be a suitable rental for someone who has trouble with stairs. We didn't get a chance to take it out, but there is a little motor boat you can use on the lake. Nearby there is a great place to get fresh sea food (Mr. Seas), an amazing ice cream shop (Fielder's) as well as grocery, CVS, etc. Dan was extremely prompt when it came to answering our messages.

    Benjamin2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you like the lake life, this is the place for you. Cute bungalow with access to the lake. My son caught(and released) a large mouth bass in the lake.

  • We Loved it, the cabin feel and quite setting was perfect. The fishing was amazing... it's a rustic kinda place so if your looking for the best of the best not your place. I will say if your looking for a quiet getaway this would be it. We will be back!

    sarah 2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in late August was overall pleasant, with my husband raving about the fishing and boat access. We liked that it was right off of 95 and were stunned by lake views as we drove in. We did not mind the stairs even with a newborn and all the belongings we packed. Dan was very communicative/responsive and left fruit/bagels for us which was thoughtful. Some things to note that I wish was included in reviews I read: Although the description is clear that there is no A/C, we found that difficult during the day but evenings were cool with windows/fans going. The place was certainly tidy but we felt some of the details of the house could have been cleaner (floors, window sills). We also wished the linens were clean/more fresh. One last note: though the pictures and description include the Bohemian decor, we found additional details uncomfortable on arrival, such as weapons, eccentric wall hangings (ie. voodoo), and a library with books such as a Satanic bible. Just wasn't our thing and made us feel a bit uncomfortable! Not the most child/baby friendly but we made it work!

    Lannie2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Dan's place was amazing for a relaxing weekend getaway. The views were gorgeous and the house was very comfortable. Dan was very easy to communicate with and was very accommodating if we needed anything at all. We will definitely be back.

    Mikey2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Dan's place over the weekend. It is super secluded on a pricate way, with a beautiful view from the bedroom, living room, and deck out back. Make sure you don't have any issues with stairs because the cottage sits up on a hill. We cook a lot so we brought our own food (there aren't a ton of restaurants closeby) but Dan also left some great trader joe's bagels. The views, seclusion and tranquility of Dan's place are incredible. We would definitely stay there again! (We could not find a grill in case you plan on grilling bring your own) Dan is very accessible by text or e-mail which is reassuring if you have any questions during your stay. We had a great time thanks dan!!

    Samantha2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Dan's lakehouse is perfect! My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our time here. Very quiet area, great scenery. Dan's lake house has everything you need for a simple and relaxing weekend. He's also very responsive and willing to make most accomodations. I didn't use the boat but I fished off the dock for a while and it was awesome that I had the chance to enjoy that. The front stairs might be a little too much for some people but we did not mind. Would 100% consider staying again in the future.

Cute 3 bedroom camp, cozy in size but right for creating summer memories in Maine. Great romantic getaway for two, or pile in the family and friends for a summer week at a Maine lake (sleeps up to 17). 1,200 sf easily accessed by the Maine turnpike or enjoy the back roads for a 30 minute drive to Freeport or Portland. Situated on Taylor Pond on a private hill giving a great proximity to the water, a nice view, and privacy. Small full kitchen, free wifi and more.
Upstairs there are a twin and a full in a private room, there is also a queen in the front room which you have to walk through to get to the back bedroom. Downstairs there is a queen in a private room, but there is also space to sleep a lot more people on airbeds, couches, and hammocks.
L.L. Bean and the Freeport Outlets are about 30 minutes away. Portland is about 45 minutes South. Rockland and the Downeast region are about 80 miles Northeast, Sugarloaf is 80 miles North, and Sunday River is only 50 miles Northwest. If you don't mind a tiny hill, there is a ski area called Lost Valley 2.5 miles down the street where I learned to ski when I was 4 years old.

  • Neat old house in Lewiston that was within walking distance of everything downtown. The place has a lot of character and Dean was a gracious and welcoming host who made us brownies one evening and eggs in the morning!

    Stephanie2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great, historic and spacious house! Dean was a great host, we highly recommend it!

    Nerea2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Dean was really friendly and helpful. He made our stay pretty comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Vinod Kumar2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The listing of the house on AirBnB was more than accurate, every part of staying at Deans house was absolutely amazing! He fed my band of 4 people and I, was cool with the times we needed to come to and from the house, accommodated us with extra beds and coffee in the morning. Dean did everything you could possibly ask for as a guest, then somehow found a way to go beyond your wildest expectations!! He even tolerated our late night laughing / story time after coming back to the house with my band from playing a rock show! My band can't wait to come back and play in Maine again, because we know we will get to hang out with Dean in his awesome house again!

    Andrew2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Positives for staying at Dean's: For us, the location of Dean's home was just right for the event we were attending. Dean communicated frequently, which was helpful. When there was a problem with heat in the upstairs, he was responsive and bought floor heaters (this was fall in New England). Dean's home is quaint and very clean. Dean was very kind, giving us a card & plant when he learned about a recent issue in our lives. Negatives for staying at Dean's: There is only a dorm size mini fridge in the kitchen, so feeding a group is out. There is only basic cable, so bring your computer if you want to watch something on TV for a night in. Take quick showers if there is a group, the hot water ran out quickly.

    Jennifer2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Dean's place was exactly as represented. He was very nice and accommodating for my short time there. Thanks, Dean

    Jim2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • House is in the city on main street . Large room very comfortable bed quiet neighborhood. TV is in LR on first floor. You have use of kitchen also. Only 1 bath could be a problem if more than a couple. Dean is very personable , gave me a great dinner suggestion. House is being updated so things will be getting improved.

    Robert2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Dean was super friendly and helpful. We stayed for one night only but could feel the charm, and coziness of the place, as well as have conversations with Dean. There were beautiful paintings and family photos around the house, furniture, stove, oven, fridge, microwave were available. Some attention to bathroom door would be helpful, try it first, or ask him, just to save yourself from being freaking out a little bit. He offered many great things from coffee, snacks, brownie, to having some marshmallow on the fire pit in the backyard, and to showing us around the town. There were church and markets nearby. We, unfortunately, didn't have enough time in our short weekend-get-away plan to enjoy these offers, but definitely had a good time here. Thank you for a great stay, Dean.

  • We loved our four nights at Olga's place. The upstairs of her B& B are exactly as described. The entire top floor is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Olga is very friendly and welcoming! The neighborhood is quiet but walking distance into town. We would definitely recommend staying here and would definitely come back.

  • Olga's place is a lovely space. Stayed here with four friends going to a wedding in Auburn, and it made the perfect home base for a special wedding weekend.

  • A beautiful 3 bedroom apartment in a Victorian bed and breakfast. Lovely, eclectic rooms, cozy beds and our charming hostess, Olga. Time did not permit us to have her breakfast this time but we will definitely next time. The inn is filled with interesting artwork, furniture and furnishings. We are looking forward to a return visit!

    Heidi2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my visit to the Munroe Inn and Breakfast. Olga is a warm and caring host. The Inn is located on a quiet street with private overnight parking. My room was beautifully appointed with fresh linens, towels, all beauty accessories needed. I loved the front bay window and the stained-glass windows. The room was plenty roomy and comforting after a long day running around. Olga and her inn staff make the most wonderful breakfast. Do not expect to go away hungry. While I did find her in on Air BnB, I would stay here again as a regular Inn guest. Looking forward to my next visit to Auburn because I have found the perfect home away from home.

  • We had a lovely stay at Kathleen and her husband's beautiful house. From the moment we arrived she made us feel welcome, and through our entire stay she treated us as old friends. We were visiting to get a look at our old college campus and our agenda was pretty set, but we also had some down time to chat with Kathleen and her husband. We only stayed one night, but definitely wanted to stay longer.

    Reann2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • A very welcoming and friendly couple, who gave clear directions and options for checking in. The room and bathroom were clean and beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable: a great night's sleep!

  • Kathleen and John were great hosts. Our rooms were cozy and comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay.

  • Kathleen is a wonderful host with a lovely home! She went out of her way to make us feel at home, and the room we stayed in was very charming. The space was also exceptionally clean and quiet - a really relaxing place, refreshing place to stay near Bates College. My girlfriend had never been to Maine before and left with a very positive impression of it - in large part thanks to Kathleen and her awesome home.

    Brandon2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • I was simply in love with the room we got to stay in! It was so bright and clean! Kathleen was a great host and so friendly. We were even lucky enough to pick some delicious grapes off the vines in the backyard. This was such a wonderful place to stay!

    Jamie2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay very much. It was my second time staying with them. Kathleen goes out of her way to make us feel welcome and at home.

    Mike2016-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen is a wonderful host!! She was very accommodating to our arrival time and she had everything ready for a wonderful stay. The space is wonderful, a large bedroom on the 3rd floor with lots of light and a very comfy queen bed. The bathroom was very clean and bright and the towels were soft and fluffy. Kathleen and her husband are very gracious hosts and their cat is very cute and friendly. My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at their house and are looking forward to staying there again in the future.

    Anne Marie2015-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Kathleen's was excellent!! She is a fabulous host! The home feels comforting, homey and creatively inspired. The room is cozy, clean, comfortable, great view of garden and nice breeze. She took care of all my needs - picking me up from bus station and dropping me back at the end of the week, loaning me a bicycle and lock to use all week. I unexpectedly was treated to amazing homemade meals. We had a great time connecting. Kathleen is the best host and you will love staying in her home. Highly recommended!!

  • Great price. Very close to the colleges and 2 miles to where my friends wedding was. Naomi was very responsive and very accommodating! My girlfriend and I would totally recommend renting from her!

    Sean2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed just one night and had a very positive experience. Naomi chatted with us for a while and then left for the night, leaving us cinnamon bread to toast, juice and coffee for breakfast. The house was nicely decorated and very clean and quiet, with a nice cushy bed. If you are interested in the history of the textile mills and shoe factories that were such a big influence on Lewiston and Auburn, be sure to visit Museum L-A in the Bates Mill complex. Naomi recommended Da Vinci's Eatery in the same building, and we ate there twice!

    Ann2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Naomi was a great host for my night stay! The house was clean, tidy and had anything I needed there to use. The house is centrally located and just minutes away from restaurants and pubs. Welcome to The Hotel Crypt, the only attraction of its kind in America -- possibly the world.  It was inhabited from 1907 to 2009 by the remains of Father Wallace, builder of St. Patrick's Church.  It is now available to be enjoyed by novelty-seekers, adventurers, the fearful, the fearless, the believers, and the skeptics for exactly what it is: a creepy, beautiful, fascinating crypt where Father Wallace’s body remained for over 100 years.  His body is no longer there, but yours can be.
Staying at the Hotel Crypt is a one-of-a-kind experience, unlike anything else.  Watch Friday the 13th on a 32-inch LCD TV in the crypt.  Take a nap where a man slept for 102 years.  Share a glass of wine with your companion inside a plush, comfortable custom-built pine coffin.  Tell each other ghost stories in low light.  When your evening is over, head back to your luxurious room at the Inn at the Agora and sleep like a baby.  And take plenty of pictures to prove to your friends you were here!  The Hotel Crypt Package includes: a room for two at the beautiful and comfortable Inn at the Agora, exclusive access to the Hotel Crypt from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am; clean and comfortable bedding in a custom built pine box coffin; large selection of classic horror/scary movies; a furnished sitting area within the original gated crypt; a souvenir bottle of wine; and the memory of a lifetime! In 1886, Monsignor Thomas Wallace, a priest at St. Joseph’s Church in Lewiston, Maine, began his life’s greatest work: the construction of St. Patrick’s Church.  Partially with his own funds and on behalf of the Roman Catholic Church, he purchased the stately Italianate mansion located at One Walnut Street, which became the church’s rectory, and the adjacent one-acre lot.  On June 24, 1887, the church’s cornerstone was laid by Bishop James Healy, the first American Roman Catholic Bishop of African descent.  Construction on the church and chapel continued for over three years, including construction of a 220-foot principal tower and spire – Maine’s tallest – in true Neogothic style and architecture.  After the church officially opened on Christmas, 1890, Father Wallace remained its first priest until he passed in 1907.  He loved the church and chapel so much that he requested to be buried there.  A crypt and mortuary chapel were added to the chapel and he remained there peacefully until 2009, when the church closed and his body was exhumed and moved to Mount Hope Cemetery.  In 2014, entrepreneur Andrew Knight renovated the former rectory into a boutique hotel, which opened in September, 2014, as the Inn at the Agora.  Plans are underway to convert the former church and chapel into a large events venue, The Agora Grand Events Center, capable of accommodating large conferences, celebrations, and weddings. Today, except for the addition of furnishings and a few modern comforts, the crypt remains as Monsignor Wallace experienced it for over 100 years.
The Hotel Crypt is located in downtown Lewiston, Maine, within walking distance of several excellent bars, restaurants, and theaters.

  • Julie and Michael were warm and gracious hosts. They helped guide us to the property as it was a bit tricky to find, provided coffee, cream and complimentary homemade cider. They also helped us set up the wood stove and brought a space heater, in case we got cold. The yurts and surrounding property is so beautiful. It was such a treat to stay in this space. Thank you again!

    Taylor2016-09-26T00:00:00Z

  • When we pulled up to the yurts, Julie and Michael met us near the front. They were extremely friendly and gave us a tour of the place. Everything was incredibly clean and easy to use. They even left us cider! There were sticks and marshmallows for the fire pit outside. They provided plenty of bug spray and head lamps. We sat out all night under the beautiful stars. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. It was a perfect night.

    Mary2016-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time at Norumbega. Julie and Michael were so warm and kind and the land is so beautiful, with so much to do. We loved exploring the area as well -- Outlet Beach right nearby is lovely and checking out the Shaker Village was fascinating. We also hiked around the property and we were enchanted. It's a very special place and we feel so fortunate that we were able to experience it again.

    Mary2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • The yurts were wonderful! This place was beyond our expectations. We came by with a group of six and we all enjoyed this place! Julie and Mike were wonderful hosts and provided us with everything we needed. The best part was playing frisbee with their dogs!

    Benjamin2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Yurts were incredible. So beautiful and homey. Michael and Julie made us feel welcome and at home and we wished we could have stayed longer!!

    Ally2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Norumbega! The yurts were clean, comfortable, and cozy. They were well appointed with everything we might need and a few pleasant surprises as well. Julie and Michael were warm, welcoming, and full of useful information about the surrounding area. If we hadn't had to get back to our children we probably would have had to be forcibly removed from the yurts! Fortunately, we're already planning a return trip, with the kiddos, this summer. We can't wait to enjoy lovely gem again! :)

  • Eva and I had one of our best and most relaxing and comfortable vacation in a long time. Alex and John are nice, gentle and friendly. The house is BIG and they are working hard improving it but, in character, their first priority has been the guests rooms. They are large and we'll appointed. Enjoying their breakfast watching the landscape is a meditative experience. Alex and John spared no effort to ensure we had a good time. Caveat: we are not overdoing it! Eva & Daniel

  • If you are looking to stay in Maine like a local this is a must stop! Inn keeper Alex and farmer John where great hosts and made me feel very at home. The suites are massive with your own living room not to mention the huge showers. John was nice enough to let me help with trimming his crops and I learned quite about about Marijuana cultivation. Highly recommend!!

  • It was magical for a boston city boy like me! Fire pit outside surrounded by trees and nothing else. I had everything I need to cook. The house inside has comfortable furniture. We had a great time.

  • Located in Central Maine, this is a lovely, spacious and very quiet space. We had activities to do all over Maine: Brunswick, Portland, Kennebunkport, and Waterville. This was the ideal "central" spot for us. There are really two sitting room areas, one you can sit in and the other you can graciously spread out your luggage. Very easy space to use. I recommend it for anyone.

  • We had a great at Maine Forest Yurts! Page and Bob were wonderful hosts. We arrived later than planned; Bob met us as we drove in and helped us get all of stuff to the yurt. The yurt had everything we needed and lots of extras (wood for the wood stove, laterns, charging station, games, reading materials, wine glasses and opener, dishes, pots/pans). Bob brought us extra water when we requested it, and answered all of our Survivor questions too. We had fun hiking around the site, building fairy houses, and relaxing in the yurt. We will definitely go again!

  • Our stay in the zen den was fantastic! The property was gorgeous and so were the yurts. I plan on returning for sure.

  • The Yurts are awesome. I was in town on a business trip, and decided to mix thing up a bit and stay in the Yurt for two night. I got in late the first day, so didn't get to do much. But the host was nice enough to carry my luggage in by ATV, though it would have only been a 5 minute walk if I had to do it myself. I started a fire in the wood burning stove, and laid on the futon looking out the dome at the stars, it was so relaxing. The next day after work I went for a kayak ride in the pond, and saw two nice beavers. One of the beavers seemed to be upset at me, and was constantly slapping his tail against the water. It was a sight to behold, and I quickly moved away so as it not annoy him anymore (or perhaps I was a little afraid of him, you decide). I definitely plan to come back to the yurts in the future. While it may seem intimidating that there is no power, or water, it didn't bother me in the least. Adding two pots of hot (not boiling) water to the gravity shower and I was just as refreshed as back home.

  • We loved our time there. We were warmly greeted, everything explained to us, and questions answered thoroughly and promptly. Everything was clean, the kids loved the kayaks and canoes, and swimming in the pond! Thank you for everything!
