Situated on a small hill top in the Adirondacks, the house has a beautiful view on lake Champlain. Lake Champlain is the 13th biggest lake in North America 120 miles long and up to 6 miles wide. The Adirondack Park and its 46 peaks cover more than twice the surface of Yosemite & Yellowstone parks combined. The house is vast and fully equiped for your comfort and safety. Up a private road, the house sits on 8 acres of land and wilderness. The house accommodates families, small groups and larger groups: - The outdoorzy with trails, wildlife, a large firepit, sporting equipment (double kayak etc) ... - The foody with a fully equiped kitchen (pasta maker, kitchenAid, espresso machine, fondue kit, waflle maker, 2 sets of 12 dinning ware etc), large BBQ and large dining table... - The indoorzy with a 55in flat screen, 100+ dvds, Play Station, pool table, games, reading and internet. Hiking the 46 Adirondack High Peaks is recognized as one of the greatest challenges. People come from all around to tackle these impressive mountains, and there is a select group that has climbed all 46 - the Adirondack 46ers. If you are interested in taking on the 46 peaks, then make sure you review High Peaks FAQs for rules, regulations, and all the info you need to know to get started.
The Adirondacks is a modest and beautiful region. The House is in a remote area, you can find anything you need in Plattsburgh (15min drive) for groceries and shopping. Lake Champlain is 2 miles down the road with a small beach and the ferry to Burlington marina (see internet for schedule). Ausable Chasm is 2 miles up the road (see internet schedule). Lake Placid and Whiteface Mountain are 40 minutes away and are worth the drive. Maggie's Pub at the Lake Placid Lodge (relais et Chateau) is absolutely fabulous. Go get organic dairy produce (cheese, ice cream etc) at Clover mead Farm corner Soper and Mace Chasm. Have a beer or four at Ausable artisanal Brewery down Mace Chasm road. The double kayak (strap on top of car) and sporting equipment are at your disposal in the garage.
  • MC's home is absolutely beautiful. She is very accommodating and responds to questions promptly. The location is very quiet and secluded. We had a big group and we had PLENTY of space. From the house we went to Lake Placid and Burlington, VT. Both a little bit of a drive but very much worth it! We definitely recommend MC's house!

  • MC was great, very involved with my stay. I had a great time, her home is beautiful and we hope to go back some day. Thanks again!

  • Beautiful house, spectacular backyard and very friendly host. Mc is great host, she answered all our questions. House is located on very private street with no other house in sight. Backyard of this house is just amazing. You can see the lake champlain and even Vermont on the other side of the lake and excellent sunrise views. Great patio and patio dining room. Inside of the house is very well decorated and full of amenities. Thanks Mc. We can't wait to visit again.

  • This property is amazing! I didn't quite expect it to live up to the pictures, but it may actually be better in person. I rented this house for a relaxing summer weekend with family and friends, and I am really glad that I did. It is a secluded property with a breathtaking view of Lake Champlain as a backdrop. There is also a ferry from Port Kent, NY to Burlington, VT that's only about a 5 minute drive away. Mc is a great host: always available via text, and as hands off or involved as you want. The house is loaded with games, movies, firewood, grilling supplies, and a fully stocked kitchen for cooking. I highly recommend this property.

  • MC's place was spectacular, so many thoughtful touches. The pictures do not do the property justice. The best host experience I have ever had, totally recommend staying!

  • MC has been very responsive, super easy to work with and very flexible. I couldn't have asked for a better host. The house itself is ever better than on picture and the view is remarkable.

  • Very nice house with interior design. MC was very responsive and helpful to us via email. All of the amenities were provided. The views are spectacular by day or by night when you are star gazing. Our family enjoyed staying here!

  • The house was amazing! It was quite spacious and comfortable. The property was superior and it had all I needed and made my trip feel relaxed. The greatly apartment and beautiful view exceeded my expectations (it was even better than those pictures). I highly recommend to anyone.

Comfortable, quiet, bright basement living space. Large private bedroom with full bed. Common area with TV, pool table, refrigerator. Close to Lake Placid, Whiteface Mtn, Ausable Chasm, Plattsburgh Airport, Montreal, & Burlington - Port Kent Ferry.
  • I met Ann upon arrival, she welcomed me and showed me around. Also, met Christopher will taking a the tour. She answered all my questions and made themselves available to me. It is very spacious and the bathroom is amazing. They are very quiet. The dog would bark and we would hear it. Barking was never an issue when it was time to sleep. It is not a place to book if you are looking to cook or do laundry since these appliances are not available. Host stayed in there space and we didn't see them after the first meet... It worked well for us. I will definitely book this place again in the future. If you want to be away from the world this is the place to book.

  • The living space was even better and bigger than the pictures! We loved everything about our stay. The kids especially loved using the pool and we ate all of our meals outside because the weather was so nice and there was a nice canopy by the pool with a table and 4 chairs. Thank you Chris and Ann!

  • We had a great stay. The house is super cute and clean, and there are phenomenal views of VT. Donna was very accommodating, even with our uncertain arrival schedule and a baby. Definitely recommended!

  • Donna was such a sweetheart. She was very welcoming and warm. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. She has a beautiful house right on Lake Champlain in Port Kent with spectacular views of the lake and the sounds of the waves. It's perfect for a weekend getaway for a reunion with your friends. She is very thorough in preparing for her guests - brochures of places and things to do, rooms kept tidy and neat, TV with Netflix etc. We had an exceptionally good time for the 4th of July weekend.

  • Was a nice experience, we loved the house, everything was as expected and plus. Donna was a nice person, and we like to thanks her one more time for the lovely time spent in her house. We'd be happy to stay here again. Thanks Donna !!!

  • Staying at Donna's Lakehouse just for one day was not enough! This is a place full of surprises that you'll discover as soon as you arrive. First of all, the main picture does not do enough justice; as the view is way more magnificent! The house is a historic place, and you will confirm it by looking at the photo of how it was years ago. There are so many interesting artifacts inside the house that she has collected, which contribute to the character of the place. Even the surroundings are great and you can go on a walk and enjoy the different roads, houses, and views. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the house was clean, comfortable, and spacious for my 3 friends and I. For a photographer or artist, this place has endless inspiration. I'd love to go back one day. Donna is right: the lake view is unique every single day.

  • Donna is a very warm and friendly person. Her house is beautiful and has gorgeous lake views from the deck (and one of the bedrooms)! She let us use the kitchen and utensils, we also used her Netflix on TV to watch a movie. We misunderstood the listing and didn't realize that Donna usually stays the night in her house (in the owner's suite). But it was not a big problem to us - since we left the house during the day time. We explored Plattsburgh & Burlington on Saturday and went to AuSable Chasm on Sunday. Also if you plan on reaching Port Kent later in the night, know that there aren't many restaurants in the area - so it would be better to pick up food before you get there. Overall, it was a great weekend getaway and we had a wonderful time! Thanks Donna.

  • What an amazing house! In terms of its history and its spectacular location, this was an incredible place for us to stay! We had two crystalline days on the lake, with Donna's place as our "headquarters." Close to Plattsburgh, the village of Peru, and beaches, this was an idyllic stay, and we very much want to repeat the visit. Highly recommended!

  • This was truly a one of a kind stay. Donna has a lovely home in the quaint town of Port Kent. The entire visit was so calming and lovely. We were able to awake in the morning to crystal clear skies and an endless lake, which we could gaze at while drinking coffee on one of the two decks that face the lake. We walked on the ferry that transports you to Burlington, VT and were able to spend the day enjoying the many sights and foods that Burlington has to offer. I cannot recommend a stay here thoroughly enough. If you want a lovely, peaceful retreat- this is the place to stay!

  • After a snafu at the beginning, this was a lovely rental. Donna gave us the run of the entire house, including our choice of bedrooms, two decks overlooking Lake Champlain, and use of her kitchen.

A very "homey" environment. Pleasant relaxing space. Not too fancy yet charming enough to enjoy your stay in the area. Often have bands on the large deck in the front with tents and chairs throughout the lawn.
Located in a small village in the Adirondacks Mountains. Nestlewood Manor is located at the end of a small cul-de-sac and surrounded by woods and empty property. Just at the edge of town, so quick runs are easy to pick up last minute items, but you are out of the way enough to feel secluded.
  • We stayed in jims home from July 19th-July 25th and had a blast. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home everything about the experience was very accommodating. I would recommend your home to anyone end everyone. Thanks again Mr. & Mrs. Schweikert

  • James has a beautiful home with plenty of rooms, great beds, plenty of soft towels, and thoughtful touches laying around for convenience. We came with a large group and it fit everyone comfortably. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would consider coming back if the opportunity arises.

  • We stayed at Jim and Heathers house for a ski vacation the week between Christmas and New years. It was about 35-40 minutes to Whiteface Mountain and 50 minutes to Lake Placid. The house was very spacious, comfortable, and clean and had everything that we needed. There were 16 of us and we never felt crowded. We thought it was nicer than the pictures on airbnb! Heather and Jim were very gracious hosts and always responded very quickly to any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this house. Would love to go back in the summer!

  • We certainly enjoyed the deck in the front yard, the ability to accommodate a large group, and the simplicity and ease of the whole process.

  • This was a fantastic house! We enjoyed spending time with our large family in the spacious yard. The house was perfect with a large kitchen and living areas. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful.

  • The place is well maintained and very clean. Also close to all places. We were 12 guests and we all had a great time.

  • Awesome place to stay..very spacious and comfortable.

  • Beautiful location, a little secluded but not too far away from everything. Perfect little getaway. Vermont is not too far away by ferry so it makes a nice day trip. Montreal is also close by. Great experience, definitely would recommend to people who want to travel to New York.
