The amenities were exactly as stated and although a compact residence it had all you needed. Many thanks Geraldine for making our stay a success.

Experience life on the farm and make yourself at home in our unique country farmhouse. Described as THE place to stay in Kerry, it is perfect for an action-packed adventure of the Wild Atlantic Way, a fun family holiday or to enjoy a peaceful country getaway. Our place has four bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and living area plus a backyard patio and vegetable garden. Enjoy a walk to Rattoo Round Tower at sunset, a drive to the beach or a Guinness in one of the local pubs.
Our four bedroom home is comfortably furnished. It offers guests two large double bedrooms and the other two, each furnished with two single beds. The property is adjoining my own home, so you have the comfort and privacy of your own space yet the security of having myself and my husband John next door if you need anything from travel advice to restaurant recommendations. Each bedroom is decorated in a theme inspired by our local area. One room is based on a traditional Irish farmhouse and has a view of the family dairy farm. The others are inspired by the nearby beaches and the surrounding flora and fauna. The kitchen/living room is a spacious welcoming area. It has everything you need to both relax and whip up a hearty meal. It features a large dining table that seats eight people, a coffee machine, electric oven, grill, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, cooking utensils and ample room for storage. There are two arm chairs and an electric fire, the ideal space to sip a morning coffee or relax and unwind after a day of traveling. Everything you might need (bed linen, towels, kitchen items and coffee pods) is provided, as well as a small library of books on Kerry. We also provide tea, coffee, cereal, milk and of course eggs from our free range hens! Our place is located in the heart of North Kerry, on the Wild Atlantic Way just outside the historic village of Ballyduff. Enjoy a short walk or cycle to the Rattoo Round Tower, catch the sunset in one of the beautiful nearby beaches, sample a restorative seaweed bath in Ballybunion, go on a day trip to Killarney or Dingle or walk to one of the many traditional Irish pubs in Ballyduff for a pint of Guinness. We also have plenty of room for parking if you are bringing a car.
Ballyduff (Baile Dubh in Gaelic) is a small village steeped in history, located on the hills above the Cashen Bay where the River Feale flows to the sea at the mouth of the River Shannon. It is home to the Rattoo Round Tower that dates back to the 10th century. It is the only complete round tower in Kerry and a hidden gem that most tour books overlook. The Rattoo Round Tower is about a 15-minute walk from our place and offers breathtaking views and spectacular photos whatever the weather. Ballyduff is home to Kilmore beach ideal for a morning stroll or simply to listen to the waves hit the sea shore. There are four more beaches nearby perfect for swimming if you are prepared to brave the elements. They are Ballybunion, Ballyheigue, Banna, and Beal. If you want to experience life as a local look no further than Ballyduff. It is a typical Irish village in the countryside surrounded by green fields and dairy farms. It is the ideal place to stay if you want to get away from busy tourist hotspots and experience what life in Ireland is really like. Ballyduff is famous for its hurling (Irish sport played with sticks). If you come at the right time, you may even catch a hurling match! Ballybunion is about a twelve-minute drive from Ballyduff and is home to the picturesque Ballybunion Castle and the famous Ballybunion Golf Course. If you enjoy stunning views or are interested in photography, it is a must at sunset! Other local towns include; Listowel (approximately fifteen minutes drive) home to many festivals including Writers’ Week, horse racing festivals and a renowned food fair. Our place is still available for a few days of the Listowel Races. Tralee (about twenty minutes drive), where 'The Rose of Tralee Festival’ is held each year. Dingle and Killarney are approximately one hour drive away and ideal locations for day trips.
  • We had a great time during our stay at the O'Connor family home. Bridget and John were excellent hosts and everything was just as expected. Communication and information provided prior to arrival was very helpful. The house was very clean and cosy on arrival. The bedrooms were fresh and nicely decorated. The kitchen was very well stocked and everything you would need is available. On arrival the fridge was stocked with bread, milk etc. There was a delicious homemade chocolate cake on arrival and we all enjoyed it, especialy our 18 month old who couldnt get enough. Bridget and John were very obliging in showing us and the kids around the farm. Our 4 year old was collecting eggs in the morning (which were delicious by the way) and we also had time to see the milking in action! Bridget's home baking is delicious. The location was great. We found Ballyduff was a very convenient base for exploring North Kerry. We enjoyed time at Ballybunion and Ballyheigue beaches and had day trips to Tralee, Killarney and Dingle. There is plenty to do for kids in Tralee with the Aquadome a big hit in our family. The Rattoo round tower is worth a visit too and its just a 10 minute walk from the house. Overall, we had a great stay and we'd love to come back again some day to do all the things we didnt have time to do. Bridget and John are very nice people and their hospitality made us feel very welcome.

  • Bridget and John made our family feel most welcome at their farm house, providing essentials we needed for the week and a home baked cake! Prior to arrival we mentioned the kids wanted to meet their animals and they weren't disappointed. They played in the garden with the kitten, dogs, fed the calf, collected fresh eggs daily and rode the horse. The farm house easily accomodated our family of 6, with 2 kids, grandparents and ourselves. It is an easy walk to town for groceries and we enjoyed our walk to Rattoo Tower as suggested by Bridget collecting berries along the way. We enjoyed short drives to other towns and beaches especially the drive to Dingle which has spectacular views. We had a wonderful time with Briget, John and Padraig and won't forget our holiday there. Thanks for the hospitality!

  • We loved staying with Bridget & John! Their home was a perfect base for exploring West Kerry. Everything was clean and well-maintained in the house. We had everything we needed and Bridget anticipated anything further that we could have asked for before we even knew! They were very generous with providing our children with learning experiences on the farm - they got to collect eggs, milk cows, turn out livestock, ride (URL HIDDEN) was such a wonderful stay. Bridget was very flexible when we wanted to stay longer and was always available to answer questions. They provided lots of information about their house and all the incredible things to do and places to visit with detailed directions and places to eat. Homemade cake, fresh eggs, cereal, and milk were left for us on arrival. We would stay again in a heartbeat! One thing to remember is that you are staying on a working farm so expect to hear farm noise (ie: animals and equipment). Thank you John and Bridget for a wonderful stay!

    Nicole2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Bridget's home, she provided a lot of information on places to visit. We had lots of fresh eggs from the farm for many wonderful breakfast. As this is a working dairy farm my 15 years old son got the chance of milking cows what an experience. Both Bridget and her husband was was very helpful.

  • Lovely house and great location to explore Kerry. Bridget and family are really keen to make sure you enjoy your stay, we certainly enjoyed ours

    david2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • My mother and I stayed at Bridget's farm house and it was just delightful. We used it as a base to explore Kerry and Bridget provided everything we could possible need, including great recommendations for things to do nearby, and fresh eggs from the hens on her farm! The house itself was lovely, clean and bright and had clear instructions on how to do everything from turn on the heat to getting to attractions nearby. I'd highly recommend staying here if you're exploring Kerry and want a cozy place to call home after a long day of absorbing the beauty of Ireland.

  • We had a lovely time at briget and johns place and they made us feel very welcomed. The place was so beatiful and we slept good in the comfortable bed. Bridget had some fresh eggs for us to eat every morning and she had made a heavenly chocolate cake for us when we arrived. Well definetly want to come back some day and recommend this place to all our friends.

    Linda2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend at Bridget's place. The O'Connor family are so welcoming - from the actual welcome pack to the fresh eggs and chocolate cake! Bridget's son Padraig couldn't have been more helpful when I arrived. The house itself is lovely, airy, and bright. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook - and Bridget provides recommendations if you'd prefer to eat out. The house is in a beautiful area, in reach of beaches and mountains - and it's also a couple of minutes walk from the village pubs if you want a pint (Your Man's Bar is great craic!). We really enjoyed our stay and I couldn't recommend Bridget's place more highly for a relaxing weekend with great hosts.

History of Ballyduff Village: In the early 1800s, Ballyduff or “Baile Dubh” village was originally located in Hearthill. British soldiers known as the Press Gang came to Hearthill looking for villagers to join the British army. The locals refused to join and decided to flee the village and go into hiding. In retaliation the soldiers burnt the village to the ground. When the locals returned all that was left was a black smoking ruin. Hence the name Baile Dubh/The Black Village or Ballyduff was given to the area. After this, the village was relocated to Benmore, where it still stands today. In 1920 the village was also burnt by the Black and Tans. Many properties in the village including the local creamery were destroyed and a local man by the name of John Houlihan was killed in the ambush. A monument in his honour was erected in the village shortly after. Rattoo Round Tower: The tower stands on the grounds of an ancient monastery. It’s thought to have been founded by Bishop Lughach, one of the first Christian evangelists in County Kerry. The round tower, which dates from about 1100, is very well preserved and features unique moulding with a curvilinear design. There is also a fascinating sheela-na-gig, an ugly, explicit carving used as a protective symbol. It is the only example found in an Irish round tower. Additionally, the site boasts the ruins of a 15th-century church, whose structure includes stones from an earlier house of worship. The nearby heritage town of Listowel, is the home of internationally known playwrights and authors such as John B. Keane and Bryan McMahon and has an interesting heritage centre. This town is often termed the "The Literary Capital of Ireland" and is host to the annual "Listowel Writers Week" held in May/June. This is an internationally acclaimed literary festival devoted to bringing together writers and audiences at unique and innovative events in the historic and intimate surroundings of Listowel. There are many beautiful local walks and beaches to enjoy.

  • We are so glad we stayed at Bridgets home. We should have stayed longer. This is the perfect place to visit Kalarney. Take a Jonte through their national Park to Ross castle. Drive the ring of Kerry and see skilling Michael island. You can take a boat trip to the island. Look up McCarthy's castle. It is an old ruin it is free and if the tide is out you can walk over to it and climb up on the inside. Bridget and John were the perfect host. John let us see his cows. Bridget's home had everything you could need I will stay here again.

  • Bridget and John are wonderful hosts, they were incredibly helpful and provide a wonderful area guide book with lots of tips. We also received a delicious chocolate cake on arrival and great fresh eggs. The property is a great size and great base for exploring the area. It is very well equipped kitchen, the bedrooms are a good size with lovely bedding. Ballyduff has lots of drinking pubs and gives you a taste of more rural Ireland, it does have its own lovely beach (once you can find it!). Ballybunion and Listowel are great places to visit, lots of good restaurants, pubs and cafes. The castle tour at Listowel was good and the food at the Horse Shoe Inn was lovely. We went on a day trip to Dingle and Slea Head which was also very good exploring beaches and coves along the way.

  • Bridget and John Pat were lovely hosts - communicative and helpful from the start. The information provided for the location was comprehensive and detailed. The house was clean well maintained, cosy and is in a great setting - down the road from the local shops and pubs as well as a number of towns in the area. It's around 15/20 mins from listowel racecourse. They welcomed us with essentials as well as a delicious chocolate cake! We'd very much recommend the house and would happily stay there again.

Plenty of walking trails for nature lovers, and plenty of space inside the house to relax. Our 7-year old twins loved it so much that they kept asking us when we would go back. Peaceful country house near to beaches and local towns. This B&B is Eco accredited. We are happy to provide local information or to do guided tours. This is home to three dogs and two cats. We serve vegetarian food. This is a double room suitable for two sharing.
My home is in a peaceful rural setting. The food is vegetarian or vegan. If given notice, I can also cater for gluten free or lactose free diets. I like people to feel relaxed and enjoy their visit. An animal lover would enjoy my friendly pets.
It is a quite rural neighborhood. My neighbours are friendly and helpful. The beautiful landscape inspires me to to write. I am close to the wonderful of Listowel. Listowel has great shops, restaurants and cafes. Just as close is the beautiful beach at Ballybunion. I believe I am very lucky to live here in Kerry.
  • What a wonderful host and a gorgeous house set in a lovely rural setting. I was only here for one night but Marian did everything to make my stay comfortable, even offering me a lift into town that evening. (I was cycling and too tired to make it on my bike) The room was fabulous and the ensuite was clean and tidy and a hot shower was just what I needed after a hard days cycling along the WAW. While the room was comfortable, tidy and spacious. The real gem of this property is the host. Marian was a very warm, charismatic and welcoming lady and made me feel at ease from the moment I arrived. There was a hot pot of tea waiting for me and as many snacks as I wanted, as well as some great conversation with Marian. I also met Marian's wonderful sisters and have to say they too were charming and fun to spend time with. I went to sleep thankful I had chosen this property and wishing I could have stayed longer. This was reinforced at breakfast when Marian provided the most amazing spread, including freshly made Irish scones, mmmmmm. The breakfast was very tasty and being a non vegetarian, I was surprised at just how tasty it was! As I made my way to my next place to stay, Marian gave me several scones to eat as I cycled, and I have to say they were even tastier after several hours cycling when I was ravenous. Great property, wonderful host. I'd definitely stay here again.

  • Marian is very friendly. You can have a nice chat with her. The house is very good and the room very comfortable. Very good bed and shower. Her dogs are lovely!! The breakfast was very good and tasteful. Highly recommend.

  • I loved my time in Marion's beautiful home. She was kind enough to take me for drives just to show me sites of historical importance. Her home is clean and beautifully styled. She prepared delicious breakfasts.

    Dana2016-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start? Marian could not have been a more accommodating host. Kept in close contact before arrival and even drove to meet us and lead us to her beautiful home! We chose this listing as we wanted somewhere just right to celebrate a special occasion, and it didn't disappoint. We received a warm welcome ( including tea and freshly baked scones ) and were shown to our rooms. The house itself is every bit as romantic as the pictures suggest but Marian's gracious hosting, warmth and local knowledge ensure that any visit here becomes a truly enchanting experience. Despite none of our group being vegetarian, breakfast was a delight. Organic freshly laid eggs, an abundance of fruits and berries, yogurts etc. all served in a elegant setting with beautiful mismatched china. The ambiance of this home and the tranquil natural setting meant that even a night spent here felt like a retreat.....were it not for the night's craic we had with all the locals in Keane's pubin Listowell! Cannot recommend this place highly enough and look forward to returning with anticipation.....Thank you Marian for a wonderful stay....

    Karen2014-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay & one visit will bring you back again & again! Marian is welcoming and helpful in every way. Her home is immaculate while retaining a real homely feel and her attention to detail is second to none. We visited during some appalling weather when everywhere, especially the country-side, looks miserable. Marian's home was a genuine haven and once inside we had no wish to go anywhere else! The location is secluded but not isolated, being only 3-4 miles out of Listowel, but as in all rural areas, visitors do need their own transport. Marian is a vegetarian but her cuisine is amazing and we did not feel at all disadvantaged at breakfast. She also has 3 dogs and to those who are not comfortable with domestic animals, I will tell you that they are very affectionate but not intrusive. 2 cats wander occasionally into the house but prefer to spend most of their time outside. Marian has a real taste for design and with her jugs and vases of wild flowers everywhere, she has created a really lovely home. It was a privilege to share it with her. A well travelled and well read lady, Marian is originally from the area and is rich in the history and folklore of her native county. She is involved in several community projects connected with the Arts, so is a great source of information to visitors. She has recently launched a book of poems to coincide with Listowel Writers Week and it deserves to do well. We wish her every success and expect to be back with her in the near future, (that's if we can get a booking!) One more thing, as the roads are quiet with little traffic, there are lots of opportunities for walking around the locality and the beach is a short drive away. Clara & Marian, Dublin

  • This was a very nice accomodation, the house was absolutely beautiful as was the scenery outdoors. Rooms were very charming as was Marian as a host. We had a very nice stay and would definitely recommind the accomodation warmly! Hugs to Marian and the lovely dogs!

  • I came to Listowel for the writer's festival and I was so glad that I found such a wonderful place to stay. Marians very stylish house and the grounds were shown to best advantage in lovely May sunshine. Marian's hospitality was second to none. When I arrived she gave me delicious homemade banana cake and tea and introduced me to the the dogs and a cat. She sorted out lifts for me to get into town in the evening. She gave me directions for a run. She even looked after me whilst i was at the festival. The room was clean and comfortable and I had my own ensuite. I sprung my veganism on Marian at the last minute but she took it in her stride and sorted me out with a lovely breakfast. I am now determined to try and win a prize at the festival next year so that i can go and stay at Marian's lovely house again.

  • The stay at Jolenes' place was just AMAZING!!!! She is one of the best hosts you can imagine! Jolene is very warmhearted and hospitable person. We fell totally in love with her unique place right-away. Her house is located very close to the beach and is THE PERFECT place for staying in Ballybunion! We hope to be able to come here again very soon! Thank you so much for being so kind to us!

  • On our vacation trip through ireland with our baby daughter we only stayed one night and the weather was nasty, but nevertheless we had a great stay with the very nice hosts patsy and tommy. They really made us feel like staying at a friend's home. Everything was clean and the room was perfect. We absolutely recommend this place. Breakfast was fine, also.

  • Patsy and Tom were the best hosts. Spotless clean house, nice room and an even better en suite bath! We had lovely chats and these two are so easy to get along with. We felt very welcomed. Very good breakfast in the morning and nice local tips where to eat. One negative point : they didn't force us to stay longer!

    Tim2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Patsy was very nice and welcoming, she was waiting for us with tea and cookies and we had a lovely chat. The room was fantastic and located near the town centre and the beach. We definitely recommend it!

  • Tommy and Patsy are a warm and friendly couple. Their accommodation is of the highest standard, ensuite and all needs provided for. Their home is ideally placed on the outskirts of a beautiful seaside town with lots of facilities for the traveller. The whole region is picturesque.. Stay with this couple if you have an opportunity to do so!!

We had a bumpy start to our trip to Ireland with our luggage being lost, but you we so helpful in helping us contact the airline/rental car agencies..thank you! • Tom and Bernie were very welcoming and their place is lovely and bright. We stayed one night and Tom made us a fantastic Irish fry for breakfast. Their place is very easy to get to and just outside Ballybunion which made it easy to return to the cliff walk before we continued our road trip. I would stay here again!

  • Donal was a great host, he made me feel like at home and provided everything I needed... my room was as described , there were thee and coffe as well as milk and biscuits... It might be a non five stars hotel but for the price I paid I can only recommend it..

    mares2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Ballybunion so much, the beach and scenery on the shore can't be beat! And we loved staying at Donal's home. It is not the typical airbnb home; it doesn't have a full and the room layout is a bit different. But Donal definitely made up for it; he is a gracious, lovely host who made us completely at home. He provided water and amenities for tea, coffee and snacks for the morning, and was very communicative on our arrival. You do have to meet him to get into the house but it was not a problem; we just had a pint at the pub next door and he was there in no time. He even offered us the use of an extra bed room he had available since we were a bit cramped. He was extremely accommodating to all of us without charging any extra, and it was much appreciated. We also had a slight problem with the internet which he fixed immediately, and everything worked well. He was very responsive. Ballybunion was an amazing town to stay in just for the scenery from the beach. It's very quiet at night but we did go to Kooley's next door and had a nice night of local music and card playing in the evening. The Chinese restaurant Glee Path across the street was also really hospitable in seating and serving us dinner even though it was very late, and the food was great! We had an awesome time and would definitely stay there again.

  • The location for visiting ballybunion was perfect. Walking distance to everything we needed. Good standards for a hostel. Brand new carpet outside the rooms in the hallway and stairs but a shame not put inside the rooms instead where it's needed and the bathrooms we both saw could use some attention/stain removal. Generally clean but not spotless. Great if you just want basic. Found the host very friendly and accommodating. Thanks

  • We enjoyed our stay in Ballybunion. • Jean and Don were wonderful hosts! We've been to a number of B&Bs and I have to say that this was the best host interaction we've had. The location was great...right behind the main (URL HIDDEN) a little late night pub crawl becomes easier to get home from. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing (thanks Don!). Overall, our stay was awesome and we would definitely come back and recommend.

  • I couldn't have asked for anything better. A lovely clean room, comfy bed, and located close to all the joys of Ballybunion. What really sets this listing apart are your hosts. Hospitality is trait that can't be taught, you either have it or you don't. Jean and Donal are fantastic from first contact, and right through your stay. Donal cooks a mean Irish brekky, and has definitely kissed the blarney Stone . He has a wealth of information about the local area, and provided it freely. We were made to feel like part of the family, and it was a pleasure from start finish.

The Olde Attic is a family-run guesthouse and bar on Ballybunion's Main Street, two minutes walk from the famous Ladies' Strand. The guesthouse adjoins a traditional Irish pub, The Olde Attic, which serves pub grub and features regular live music.
Centrally located, the Olde Attic has been run by husband and wife Tim Joe and Noreen Griffin for nearly 20 years. Breakfast is served every morning to suit your tastes, be it a continental buffet or full Irish fry. Dietary requirements are easily provided for. Each room is spaciously appointed, with en-suites, TV and WiFi access. Children are welcomed and easily accommodated.
Ballybunion is a town that truly has something for everyone! The world-famous Ballybunion Golf Club is located one kilometre from the B&B and Tim Joe, as an occasional golfer, will be happy to advise you on the course. The beach is conveniently located, whether you want to go for a ramble or take a traditional seaweed bath. The Cliff Walk takes in the ancient Nine-Daughter's Hole and the Virgin Rock. For the more adventurous, a walk up Knockanore is a must to watch the sun set over the Shannon Estuary. Ballybunion is also a night-life hotspot, with several bars within walking distance, from pubs featuring ceilí bands to nightclubs with up-and-coming DJs.
  • The room was large, clean, and comfortable, with a large en-suite bathroom and a view of a nice apple tree right outside the window. We had a very warm welcome, and a delicious fry up to start our day the following morning. It was a perfect jumping off point for visiting the Cliffs of Moher. The location was very convenient, right on the main street in Ballybunion, and not too noisy despite being over a pub. We would definitely recommend it to anyone passing through this beautiful part of the country!

  • Noreen was very welcoming. Nice, clean & central b&b-good Irish breakfast. Would stay again.

    Laura2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Olde Attic was one of the loveliest B and Bs that I have ever experienced. We had a wonderful Irish welcome, a huge top shelf brekkies every morning (with homemade brown bread- you won't get that everywhere!), and the room was modern yet classic (I make my living being fussy about aesthetics, so you know it had to be lovely if I am saying so!), spotlessly clean, with a large shower, TV and WiFi. The owners are absolutely lovely in every way, happy to help with anything, while being totally respectful of privacy. The pub downstairs is super friendly, family-oriented, and has great pub grub and a perfect pint of Guinness. We were never bothered by pub noise, and we slept like babies. Overall we thought that staying here was a great value, and gave us a restful centrally located base where we could step out the front door and have all the fun we wanted without an ounce of effort. Hoping we can make The Olde Attic our vacation base for Ballybunnion for future summers!

    Sasha2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Olde Attic is very well located in Ballybunion, just 5 minutes walk from the beach and near pubs and restaurants. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. Tim and Noreen were great hosts and very friendly.

  • We had a lovely two days in Ballybunion. We were pleasantly surprised there was a full restaurant with the same owners next door. Mary was our bartender and breakfast cook and she was excellent! Made us feel totally at home. Room was just what we needed for our stay. We loved being able to pick what time we wanted our Irish breakfast fry each morning!

  • Host was very welcoming even when we were an hour late because we went to the wrong town! House is in a central location and very spacious. Well kitted out especially in the kitchen. Few things missing like TV, bulbs in light fittings, garden, clothes line.

The town boasts two of the finest golf links courses in Ireland, and there are plenty of pubs, restaurants, cafés and leisure activities and facilities to suit all tastes and budgets.
  • Fantastic house kept in great condition. It was the best equip house we have ever stayed in right down to the fire lighters, coal and fire wood for the wood burner. The Wine and chocolates upon arrival was also a great touch and made walking in even better. No real check in at all, keys were easy to get and we were left to settle in with no hassles, same for check out. We will be back for sure.

  • We are a group of men in our 40s who have been visiting the Listowel Races for years. This was our best stay and all down to the great accommodation that Lisa provided. It had everything we needed, was close to Ballybunnion and was a home away from home. Perfect!

  • Stayed here for a week in July, great location, walking distance to the town and beach. It has been recently renovated and had everything we needed for our self-catering family holiday. We had 2 kids under 3 so the high chair and cot came in handy. There was loads of space for the 4 of us. There is a back garden and washing line too, handy for the towels after the beach. We didn't need it but there is a wood burning stove that would be cosy during the winter. Coming and going was no hassle, the host had everything ready and was available if we needed anything - which we didn't. I'd recommend to anyone staying back in BallyB.

  • I honestly can not recommend Denise as an airbnb host and her beautiful property highly enough! Denise is a wonderful lady, extremely kind and her communication was excellent throughout the booking and check-in process. The house itself is absolutely stunning, really relaxing and fabulously decorated. The whole place is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need or even dream of! Denise had even considerately left a huge A-Z with all the local information which was really handy and very thoughtful. The location is perfect, a short stroll to the town centre and also the beach as well as offering on-site parking.I am really looking forward to staying at Denise's amazing house again soon.

  • A wonderful place to stay. The house is beautiful, the decor is fabulous and there is everything you could possibly need provided. The kids loved their comfy beds and the TV. I loved the beautiful tableware and the fluffy towels! This really is a home from home. The location is excellent- so close to the beach and there is plenty of scope to visit further afield. We really enjoyed seeing Fungie in Dingle and Splash Sports at the Maharees near Castlegregory. Ballybunion is a fantastic place for a holiday. The beach is amazing and there is something for everyone in the town. Denise is a lovely host with a warm and friendly personality. We truly had a wonderful experience and highly recommend experiencing Denise's dream house by the sea!

My place is close to beautiful dramatic Atlantic beaches with access to the Wild Atlantic Way, Killarney National Park and the dramatic Dingle Peninsula. Kerry Airport nearby. World class links golf courses nearby at Tralee and Ballynunion. Exceptional restaurants in particular seafood restaurants at Tralee, Ardfert, Fenit and the Spa You’ll love my place because of the location, the comfortable and warm house, the outdoors space including lockable storage for bikes etc. Cheap taxi services.
It is a really comfortable house which warms easily and everything is provided that is necessary in the house. I have also supplied games in case you get a rainy day. You have all the British and Irish channels and lots of light coming into the house. It has a barbecue spot at the back for sunny days. There is exceptional storage space in the shed at the back for outdoor activity equipment.
This is a quiet rural environment in the heart of North Kerry where I grew up but has easy access to all amazing attractions that Kerry has to offer. North Kerry has beautiful beaches at Banna, Ballyheigue and Ballybunion. Banna is merely 6 miles away and is an easy cycle over flat terrain or a short drive. The area of Fenit, the Spa and Barrow is another beautiful part of Kerry with numerous excellent seafood restaurants and is less explored by tourists than west or south kerry. You have villages such as Lixnaw, Abbeydorney and Ardfert nearby. The Norman influenced Ardfert village with its ancient cathedral is a good stopping off point to eat and have a drink at Kate Browne's Pub and Restaurant. Tralee is the major town in Kerry and has many pubs and restaurants and is ideal for shopping. Tralee Golf course which is signposted from either Tralee or Ardfert is actually at Barrow, not Tralee, and is a wonderful location. The public have a right of access and there is a beautiful cove well worth visiting even if you have no interest in golf. This is the 8th ranked links golf course in the world and designed by Arnold Palmer. The nearby Ballybunion golf course is the 9th ranked links golf course in the world and there are may other smaller golf courses around here. You also have various festivals such as Tralee Races and the Rose of Tralee Festival which attracts lots of national and international visitors. The nearby heritage town of Listowel, which is 8 miles from the house is the home of internationally known playwrights and authors such as John B. Keane and Bryan McMahon and has an interesting heritage centre. This town is often termed the "The Literary Capital of Ireland" and is host to the annual "Listowel Writers Week". If you want to travel to South Kerry it is merely a 40 minutes drive to the world famous Killarney National Park. You could hire bikes in Killarney and cycle out to the Park and spend the day there in those beautiful surroundings with the lakes and the highest mountains in Ireland as the backdrop. Alternatively spend the day exploring the Park on foot. Go and visit the Gap of Dunloe and the Black Valley with its stunning ancient scenery. You could venture further south to Kenmare and into West Cork or drive around the "Ring of Kerry". Dingle and the Dingle Peninsula is also easily explored from the house. Drive from Tralee through the Conor Pass to Dingle and you will see some of the most stunning scenery anywhere in the world. Stop off in Dingle and explore this beautiful town with so many places to eat. Drive around Slea Head from Dingle to explore the Dingle Peninsula where Irish is still the first language. All of this is so easily accessible from the house.
  • lovely spot. Excellent and very well equipped cottage with three bedrooms. Ideal base for exploring Kerry, did the Ring one day and Dingle the next. Tralee very close. Siobhan next door was lovely and really enjoyed out trip. May be back in the autumn, given its booked solid now! One disappointment: The price for landing on Skelligs is ridiculous now - €75 per person. You can do the cruise around it, short tour and video for € 35 from the Skellig Experience in Portmagee. Croagh Patrick is free people.

  • We had such a great time in this house. It was warm, clean and cozy and bigger than the pictures suggest. The location is great too and it's the perfect starting point to explore all of beautiful Kerry. We will definitely visit again sometime.

    Juliana2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cottage within driving distance of Tralee banana beach and ballybunion everything provided and huge garden for kids to play would highly recommend Bernie and the lovely Siobhan next door if u looking for somewhere to stay Deirdre Martin and family

    Sophie2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Bernie's place was great and well-equipped. Since Bernie lives in London Siobhan, the neighbour next door takes care of the property. She is lovely and helpful. I would definitely come back again.

    Anna2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • You need a car for most places in Ireland and this is no exception but you can walk past fields of cows and countryside in all directions and large garden. House is very comfortable clean and was great size for our family of 4.

    Brendan2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house is ideally suited to people looking for a simple rural house, in a lovely quiet area far (but not to far!) from the hustle and bustle of Tralee. We stayed there for four nights in February and found the house, to be very warm, clean and well equipped. It was about 10 mins drive to Tralee and about the same to Banna beach. We have three children, 7, 9 and 11 and the house was perfect with our 2 boys getting one of the doubles and our daughter getting the single room. It is a great location to base yourself for a driving holiday around north Kerry. Bernie was a pleasure to deal with.

    Fran2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect location for our Irish holiday. We are used to driving so the ruralness was a benefit. Every day we did day trips around Kerry and Dingle. There is so much to see that we didn't even scratch the surface. The house was very well equipped and had everything we needed for a home away from home.

  • Elma's place is FANTASTIC!! Not only is her home beautiful and comfortable but is also in a great location near many wonderful small towns and beautiful beaches. • Have you ever dreamed to spend some time in a 'farm house'? If so, then this is the perfect place for you. From the windows you can see green pasture and some cattle grazing peacefully. The house is just outside Causeway, very quiet. In good weather one can enjoy the sunshine with a cup of tea of coffee at a lovely table just behind the house. In the cool evenings one can enjoy a fire in the living room. Elma is a very enthusiastic host: she compiled brochures and maps about the sights to be seen, listen to her recommendations. For example, we liked Kate Browne's Restaurant & Bar in Ardfert.

    Katalin2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • I can not begin to describe what an AMAZING experience we had here! The home is beautiful with breathtaking views, and cows! The restaurant Elma suggested was perfect, a short drive to the Cliff Walk and 9 Sisters Hole in Ballybunion. Our only regret is that our stay was so short. We will absolutely be staying here again!
