  • This is absolutely a wonderful place to stay in, well accessible it's just far enough off the main road to be quiet during the night. Penelope and Duncan are very friendly and knowledgable about the surrounding area and Northland in general. The whole house was very clean and modern. I really wish I had more time on this trip for this Airbnb.

  • This is the perfect spot whether you want to explore the history of the area, spend a day at a beautiful beach, or just relax by the pool. Penelope and Duncan's home is absolutely gorgeous and their hosting skills match the accommodations they offer. Warm and easy-going, they had a way of making us feel completely welcome and right at home. We feel lucky to have found this gem and, obviously, recommend it very highly. Thank you, Penelope and Duncan!

    Patricia2017-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Penelope and Duncan's beautiful home is very comfortable in both accommodations and hospitality. They are both very welcoming and the guest facilities are of high quality. The breakfast was great was with a good variety of drinks and food options. Duncan gave us suggestions for sightseeing around the area. Unfortunately the weather was a little cold, so we didn't get to experience their salt water swimming pool, although their yard and grounds were beautiful. We highly recommend a stay at Penelope and Duncan's home.

  • Cannot fault this place at all. Beautiful rooms, house and garden. Markus was an exceptional host and also provided us with a full breakfast! Great value for money. Get there!!

    Chase2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding. The Karma guesthouse is a must as Markus and his family(including little Rosie) were so welcoming as we stepped through the door to their dream (home) with bubbly awaiting us. It is an exceptionally clean house that they take up most pride in with all amenities provided, not to mention the outstanding hot breakfast that was cooked for us. The bedrooms and bathroom were nice and private from the main house with an outdoor area ideal for late night wine by the fire and brekkie as the fog disappears whilst the sun shines through. One night at the Karma wasn't quite enough.

    Emily2016-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had such a wonderful stay with Markus. He was so welcoming and friendly and went out of his way to make us feel rested and comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights in total. Karma guesthouse was spotlessly clean, set in exquisite gardens and so convenient for travelling around the bay of islands. The breakfast that Markus made was delicious, and we really felt at home. We couldn't have asked for a better time.

    Alexandra2016-03-05T00:00:00Z

  • Markus was waiting and welcoming on our arrival then shared a glass of red wine with us. Well appreciated after a six hour drive. It was very easy to find the guesthouse property just off the main highway. Driving through the olive grove to the buildings was like being in Provence and set us into a relaxed mood. The gardens and water feature around the buildings were stunning with spring colors while the interior was spacious, tastefully decorated and spotless. Markus then prepared an evening meal for us (with wine) and we retired early. Breakfast of our choice was included and enjoyed. Great hosts.

    Carol2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were great We chatted all night and the resident chef cooked us a 5 star breakfast They were extremely helpful and assisted us with arranging to get motorbike spares for our bike Will definitely go back and send my friends The house was furnished superbly and the gardens were landscaped and stunning it was like living at a 6 star hotel , with white linen and towels

  • We stayed one night and couldn't have asked for better accommodation. Anna is a great host we felt like we were "at home" which is amazing when you have a baby with you. Everything was clean and tidy - like staying at a 5 star hotel with the added bonus of a well equipped kitchen

  • We had a great stay with Anna and Dan. The bedroom is really nice and we felt comfortable using the kitchen and common areas as they are great hosts. We had a good relaxing time.

    Craig2016-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place and great host ...including Ruby the dog. Felt like we were in a boutique hotel. Room in its own wing with own bathroom was immaculate. Anna is a healthy living lady who introduced us to a number of very cool drinks and provided everything we needed for breakfast. Ruby the dog was awesome. Probably our favourite part was its location in the countryside with far reaching views. Very soothing and calming. You need to stay here..a gem.

Our beautiful self contained farmstay cottage is very private, set on 43 acres with lovely rural views. We are just 8 kms from the quaint historical township of Kerikeri, and only 1 km from the Kerikeri airport. We are very central to all tourist attractions.
Chill out in our rural farmstay or visit any of the local attractions which include, the coast to coast bike trail, Waitangi, wineries, golf courses, local arts and crafts, fantastic walks, Kauri forests. Feed the chooks, collect the eggs and view and feed our enormous eels!
  • You wouldn't find friendlier, more welcoming hosts. The cottage is quaint and offered everything we needed. We loved our visit and hope to come back in the near future, maybe summer next time. :)

    Graeme2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nice compact little place off the beaten track, with cows for neighbours. Not a big place by any means and the kitchen is small and cramped but I still managed to cook a reasonable meal, the fridge "sings" to you but works ok. Windows don't open and the wi-fi can be tricky, we ended up sitting out the back off the house to log on but grateful to have access. Very friendly hosts that enjoyed hearing our adventures for the day.

    Philip2017-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very lovely cottage on the outskirts of town which was clean and a pleasure to stay at. The owners were lovely and had some great tips about the surrounding area. We even got some cute little visits from Max, the friendly cat. We would definitely recommend staying here, as we plan to when we return to New Zealand.

    Benjamin2017-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was our favourite place to stay on our travels, the cottage was lovely and so were Diane and Wayne (and Max!) Unfortunately we had to leave early but we would have loved to attach the cottage to our car and take it with us!

    Hannah2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Hi travellers, it was a very pleasant stay in this place. We were welcomed by clean room, fresh towel, homemade balm. Wayne and Diane invited us to their lovely home and we get lots of information about the surroundings and their experience. Pets, Max and eels :). You'll feel the north island's hospitality there. The place is very close to the main home but we get all the privacy we needed.

  • We were made welcome by a very friendly and helpful host - Claes. This would have to be our most relaxing stay in a very modern and clean cottage. The setting is just so serine,on an orange orchard. It's location is only a few minutes drive to the town of Kerikeri and about 15 to 20 minutes to Paihia. We met Inga the manager who was also very pleasant to deal with. Highly recommended for short or long term stay.

    Cecil2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay for 2 couples and a toddler in this great little cottage tucked away in an orange orchard. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything we needed, plus a spa bath as an added bonus. Claes and Inga even left some toys in the cottage for our daughter to play with, a high chair and child friendly utensils, without us even asking! We had a great time at the MoonShine cottage and would highly recommend it to anyone.

  • Had a wonderful stay. All the boxes were ticked: Great Hosts, excellent accommodation, lovely atmosphere and Jazz was a delightful bonus. Perfect as a Bay of Islands base, I feel privileged being able to stay and look forward to coming back. Thanks Sue and Grant!

  • Very pleasant stay in Sue and Grant's house ! The accommodation is comfortable. The breakfast was very good, homemade (lemon honey curd was exquisite !) and generous ! Many thanks for your warm welcome and for leaving us feed your alpacas and goat !

  • My stay at Sue & Grant's totally felt like a home from home, and you can't offer much greater praise than that. I feel like I've made new friends. Stunning view, easy to find, great hospitality, comfy bed (even with chocolates on the pillow and travel toiletries), I felt very spoiled - above and beyond what I really expect from a B&B. Given a location mid way between Paihia for Bay of Islands trips and KeriKeri, you might want to eat (dinner) in either, albeit Sue was super kind & invited me in advance to join them for dinner - with sunset laid on too! Jazz the dog is very friendly as were the alpacas who were quite literally eating out of my hand! So glad I chose to stay. I'm definiely coming again if I come back in that direction

    Fiona2015-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The home from Sue & Grant is a very beautiful place. Their Alpacas make the place specially. We have a lot of funny moments with the animals. We will never forget it. Sue & Grant are lovely hosts. We wish them all the best.

    Bartosz2016-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sue's bnb is of a high standard. The room is really cosy, clean and a good size with a beautiful view out to the fields. There's tea and coffee making facilities in the room and you will be nice and warm if you stay during winter as there's good heating and an electric blanket. What really makes Sue's place special are her animals. She has a really friendly, loving dog called Jazz. Then there's chickens, a goat and of course the beautiful alpacas. It's safe and homely and well located - especially if you want to visit the Waitangi Treaty Grounds and Rainbow Falls. Sue and Grant are lovely, friendly hosts. Highly recommend.

    Rosa2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly couples, the room is large, the bed is also very comfortable, we play every day and alpacas. Everything is good!

  • It was a pleasure staying in this lovely home. The photos don't do this place justice. The surrounding area is quiet and picturesque. It was so quiet we could hear the cows mooing in the distance! A lovely clean house, large living space and kitchen, 1 bathroom among 3 bedrooms, big laundry and dryer, sauna and jacuzzi. Bonus of undercover parking. We had a lovely relaxing time here. Perfect way to enter into the new year. Thank you!

Luc and Catherine will host you for a quiet, restful life from a sustainable pleasant farm in a natural environment in the center of the Bay of Islands. We offer one bedroom with a double bed in a separate building than the farm house. We are located about 30 km from Paihia, 30 km from Matahauri bay, 20 Km from the Puketi forest with splendid Kauri trees and the walks, Kerikeri is only 2 km away .
The bathroom has just been renovated. The main house is open (kitchen, dinning room) to enjoy the warmth of a wood-stove. A communal room is available , (reading books , playing table tennis and board games, watch movies or just relax in a quiet place). The room is insulated but there is no heater so in winter take a jumper for the fresh Kerikeri nights. The composting toilet is in another separate building (about 20 m away). As we are running the farm you could experience work and life with animals like cows, sheep, chickens, ducks and cats or relaxing in the orchard and vegetable garden You may even enjoy milking the house cow or/and doing some butter and cheese. Breakfast could be taken at the farm house with the owner . This is a good time to share life and family experiences or /and stories. The food ( HOME MADE, ORGANIC AND FRESH) comes mainly from our farm. There are no cooking facilities in the bed room therefore we do not allow food in them but the owner kitchen is open. Meals (Lunch or dinner) can be taken with the owner and we ask NZ$20 per meal per person Washing can be organised at extra cost. Bikes could be rented out. Other room is available check listing "Enjoy a good life 1"
pine forest to walk about down to a stream . A relaxing walk to a swimming hole down the nearby river. Enjoyable sunset from the top padock.
  • Our stay here was just what we were hoping for - relaxing, great company and farm fresh food. Our hosts were very welcoming and knowledgable about things to do and see around the area. We would happily stay with them again.

  • Nice, rustic place to ground back yourself and free your soul for a couple of days! Loved the bush walks to search for the cow to milk on the riverbank... The breakfast with exclusively super tasty homemade high quality bread butter fig jam! Milk/cream from the cow is to try! Comfy double bed! And fun dry toilets. Castaway everyday to enjoy what matters... I recommend it and I will come back because Catherine, Luc and their animals are truly enjoyable! French family that is speaking real English it's a bonus! Best to you, Guillaume

  • This is a one in a million host family that walks the talk. I am a regular traveller and I could not have been more delighted with my comfortable and happy stay of 3 nights at this peaceful oasis. I just wish I had had more time to see more of the organic farm at work. Luc and Catherine are avid and hardworking artisans of the good and healthy life. The specialities I encountered included their outstanding French cooking (everything is home-made including the freshly-baked bread, butter and jams on the breakfast table and do take the opportunity to join them for a family meal if you can). Also Luc's speciality sawmilling venture, and Catherine's cheese-making. I was honoured to take part in the pre-dinner table-tennis tournament (you better be good to take on Luc or his daughter Pauline). The cottage was perfectly well-equipped and, last but not least the bed... it is the most comfortable I have ever encountered. Thank you Luc, Catherine and Pauline.

  • Luc and Catherine are a French couple who offer a simple room for night stay in their small piece of farmland. The hosts are lovely and will treat you like family. They didn't mind making dinner and breakfast for us, they waited long for us to arrive. But they didn't mind sitting with us knowing us although it was way past their sleeping time. Next day morning they showed us around the small farm with a cow, ducks, hens, lambs :) its a great place if you want to experience simple farm house living.

  • Probably our favorite place we stayed during a 3 week NZ trip. It felt like a vacation from our vacation (the trip was extremely busy up to staying here). Beautiful gardens (the photos can't do it justice), nice pool, and great hosts. Room design is well thought out and extremely comfortable. Keri Keri is a bit of a hike (15-20 min) down the road, but we enjoyed the walk in to town (there is a broad sidewalk set off from the road). Great base for exploring bay of islands... recommend getting food / wine to go and eating on the patio. 3 nights was not enough.

    Mark2017-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most fantastic time in the Cottage! Truly five star accommodation: beautiful, spotless, super comfortable, and with loads of finishing touches to remind you that you're on holiday. We would absolutely recommend this venue to any couples looking to get away from it all - we will DEFINITELY be back!

    Jacquelyn2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was a slice of paradise! Nothing short of a dreamy destination. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer. Our host, Lionel, is a true kiwi host, descended from Maori leaders. His knowledge of the area and wonderful hospitality were very much appreciated. The cottage and its environs can only be described as five star! It's well stocked, and a wonderful breakfast basket is included, or you can choose to have the makings (eggs, bacon, toast, butter, jam) left at the cottage in the evening to make your own breakfast in the morning. The bed is super comfortable. High end shampoo, soap. Complete, generous stocking of coffee, milk, etc. The many acres of gardens, orchard and lawn invite walking around, and a pool is available for swimming. There is also a community room where you can meet others staying there, watch television, read.

  • Julie's place is easy to find, and it is close to Kerikeri for us to catch the Great Sights shuttle bus. The place is very clean and cozy, the bush walk behind the house leads to a small waterfall/stream, which is very nice! Julie is very friendly and we had a great time there!

Both bedrooms having their own ensuites was fantastic and the central cosy lounge with a woodheater overlooking the bushland, made it a perfect peaceful getaway. Great for a romantic weekend or as a base to tour the beautiful Bay of Islands region. We woke to a beautifully prepared continental breakfast each morning, especially enjoyed the bircher muesli. We had the pleasure of staying with Laura and her husband in their beautiful home. The two bedrooms are beautifully appointed, and the beds are very comfortable. Waking up to an amazing, freshly made breakfast was the icing on the cake! Look forward to staying with Laura again on our next trip to NZ. :-)

There was a small kitchenette in our room which allowed us to store a few nibbles and drinks to have on the warm evening nights. The breakfasts served were delicious and varied every morning - we even got some cookies and pudding one night too! We spent a week in the area, and it was lovely to return every evening to Laura and Paul's home - thank you very much for a wonderful stay!

  • We have had an amazing stay at Laura's place. Her warm welcome and cosy, beautifully decorated rooms made us really feel like home. In the morning we were treated to a wonderful hand-cooked breakfast, including the best chocolate cake we ever had. All in all a five-star experience, thanks Laura!!

  • My friends and I really enjoyed our stay with Laura & Paul and their 2 lovely dogs Lily & Maggi. They are very friendly and responsive host. It is the best Airbnb we stayed in. The two rooms we stayed have their own different beautiful settings and atmosphere. It is better than the 5 star hotel we stayed last night. Everything was very tidy, clean and being set up in a thoughtful thematic touch. I assure you will never regret staying here. Breakfast was wonderful they are very generous. While having breakfast, you can enjoy their beautiful garden view. We are planning to come back during the next holidays.

  • Place found neat clean and tidy. Bed comfortable. Outdoor space appreciated.

  • This little cottage is cute a was perfect for the two of us. The location was perfect to explore Northland with easy access to Paihia and 1-2 hour drives to other attractions (ie, the kauri forest, cape reinga). Vivienne was very accommodating and lovely to meet.

    Jenna2014-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great base to explore Bay of Islands and surrounds. Self contained cottage was well equipped and close to restaurants and shops in Kerikeri. Despite its proximity to main road it was quiet and secluded. Mandarins were sweet!

  • We had a very warm welcome from Vivienne on arrival for our stay of 5 nights at Mandarin Cottage. We found the cottage very well equipped and comfortable with all we needed for a pleasant stay. It was nice to sit outside over a drink after a day's sightseeing enjoying the flowers in the garden We enjoyed buying lots of fresh produce from the stall just along the road. The town had all we needed, with the bonus of a comfy cinema It proved a really good base for exploring northland. We would especially recommend Palmco Gardens for the beautiful gardens and lovely cafe

  • We had a lovely time at Greg and Vivienne's cottage. Everything had been thought about and laid on from lovely local coffee to extra towels for the pool. It's also worth remarking on the bed which was the comfiest that we've slept on in a very long time, throughout our travels in NZ.

  • We had a great stay at Mandarin Cottage. It's the perfect place to stay to explore Northland. The cottage is private, in a really good spot and has everything you need for your stay - there are even beach towels, fresh coffee and milk in the fridge ( we really appreciated that). There is also a swimming pool. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use it, but it looked great. Vivienne was a great host, and provided lots of information about Keri Keri and the surrounding areas. We would love to stay here again and recommend Vivienne's to anyone visiting the Far North.

    Trish2015-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely batch style cottage. Vivienne was extremely accomodating providing us with the supplies for our baby including a cot and high chair. Great location for exploring the bay of islands.

  • Amazing homely cottage with beautiful farm views. Lots of things to do, even just on the properly and the host thought of everything. Couldn't have been more comfortable. I would highly recommend to everyone!

  • Shepherds Shack is a fantastic little hide-away with wonderful hosts in Jenny and Mike. My Mum enjoyed the dreamy well cared for gardens/outdoor areas complete with herbs, and friendly animals in the paddocks - it invited rest & relaxation for her. A very warm, very clean home with fresh decor. The added little touches, quality condiments and linen, comfortable beds, all made for the perfect stay. Location is great for a get-away yet not far from KeriKeri amenities also. Absolutely recommend. Thank you Jenny!

  • Had a really nice stay here. There's so much privacy and the place was so quiet and really tidy and homely. Would highly recommend!

  • Very clean, very comfortable, very homely. Tastefully decorated. Comfortable beds.

Kerikeri, the citrus centre of the North, has a rich historical past. Kerikeri Stone Store and Mission Station are only a few minutes drive. Wonderful craft shops and unique local art are abundant in Kerikeri. There are a wide range of quality cafes, restaurants and wineries for every taste. Opposite the cinema on Sunday you will find the famous Kerikeri Farmers Market where locals come from far and wide to sell fresh produce.

  • We had a great stay in Kerikeri. The property was clean & tidy and we loved the spa! The location is a little outside of the town centre, though not far. It was private (although there is one neighbour close by). Linen is provided, which was great. Scott, the host, was responsive & helpful to any queries we had. Thanks for having us!

  • Jennie is a wonderful host who went to great lengths to make our stay a memorable one. She welcomed us warmly and includes many little touches which helped make our stay a very pleasant experience. I would recommend this Air BNB experience to anyone travelling in KeriKeri and wanting to feel welcomed and cared for while away from home. Thank you Jennie. Carmel Stewart

We are a well travelled couple who invite you to share our home near Kerikeri. We have a new modern house with wonderful rural views. Two excellent bedrooms with en-suite facilities, one with King sized double bed the other with two King size single's. The house enjoys floor to ceiling double glazed windows that gives a real indoor outdoor feel to the open planned kitchen/dinner and lounge area's. We also have a home theatre projection system to watch your favorite films. Outside we have a lap pool with large shaded loggia area. Northland is renown for its great beaches and plentiful fishing as well as early historic places to visit so there is plenty to do and we will help you arrange sightseeing activities during your stay if you want.
Riverview Room (26m sq) This room has a lovely rural outlook and big floor to ceiling ranch sliding windows to facilitate the view. The room is carpeted and has a king sized double bed with side cabinets and lights, TV, small double seat and a built-in wardrobe with double mirrored doors. There is also an Italian tiled en-suite with shower. The room has air-conditioning and is suitable for two guests.
Riverstone Lodge is two kilometers from Kerikeri village which is quaint and has a charming character. The Lodge is well placed to explore this area of Northland with about thirty minutes drive to the sea both north and south. A day return trip to Cape Reinga is possible as is a trip to the scenic Hokianga Harbour on the west coast. We also enjoy marvellous rural views across a valley to farmland.
  • Paik and Roy are gracious hosts who treat you like visiting friends at their inviting home. We chose their beautiful home because the appearance of the house appealed to us AND LOCATION. Location for a tour day trip to Cape Reigna & 90 Mile Beach with (URL HIDDEN) Tours which picked us up at Kerkeri Bakery 5 minutes away from their house. In the morning Paik served an abundant hot and cold breakfast with many delicious choices and to say the least we were pleasantly stuffed. After, she drove us 5 minutes to our pickup for 7:50 am. We were one of the last pick up for this tour while some people were picked up at 7:00 and had to ride that much longer in the morning and on return. We paid $124 each and spent 1 hour less on the bus. Paik recommended restaurants and the Bake House to experience. Places to see in Kerikeri are the oldest Stone Store which is about 15 minutes away, the Bay of Island Honey Shop with the largest beehive in New Zealand, a chocolate factory, a macadamia nut grower and so much more. We said to Paik and Roy that they are "The hosts with the most". We recommend a minimum 3 day stay for this area. Stephen & Karen Moore Niagara, Canada

  • One of the best airbnb experiences so far. The house is stunning and spacious and the room I got was roomy, cozy and bright. I woke up to the views I would love to wake up every day to. The hosts are lovely people and I am so glad I got to know them. I also loved that this place is out of the way yet close enough to Paihia for my daily adventures. I totally recharged at the place. It was an amazing stay I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

    Anna2015-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful stay with delightful hosts.Delicious cooked breakfast AND continental! We had a lovely chat and got great recommendations for things to do.Comfy bed and luxurious tiled bathroom with rain shower and nice toiletries you can use. They have a friendly German shepherd.Kerikeri is only half an hour's drive away and there are things to do in Kerikeri like Rewa's Village and Rainbow Falls. In Paihia you can see dolphins.Just make sure you arrive before 9pm for dinner in Kerikeri-there is one main road and the odd restaurants on it shut early.Paihia has a great pizza place and fish and chip place next to each other on the beach front.

    Lydia2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Paik and Roy were wonderful hosts and their house is fantastic. We would love to visit again sometime and have some of Paik’s homemade breakfast. If you are looking for a place to stay near Kerikeri this is the place to go.

  • Roy and Paik are wonderful hosts who make you feel most welcome. Their beautiful modern home is in a spectacular setting. Our room was very comfortable, the bathroom a veritable treat, and the breakfast had everything you could want in the morning. The hosts had lots of information about the local area and suggestions for sightseeing along our chosen route. We would definitely think about staying with them again.

    Manjeet2012-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had such I wonderful time with Roy and his family, I wholeheartedly recommend staying here to anyone wanting to visit Kerikeri or have a relaxing base as you explore the Bay of Island. By car the house is 25 minutes away from Paihia, which works as a great gateway to the rest of the bay, and 5-10 minutes from the Rainbow Falls if you want to do some forest walks. The house is fabulous. From the King Double-bed room there is a great view of rolling countryside and waiting for us on our pillows as we entered the room were some gorgeous chocolates from the nearby chocolaterie. Roy, his wife, Paik, and his daughter, Jade, are fabulous company and great hosts who have a great deal of knowledge of the area. On their suggestion we went to the Rainbow Falls and then drove to Monganui and my girlfriend had the best fish and chips she could remember ever having. Unfortunately we were only able to spend one night in Kerikeri but it has definitely been one of the best places we've stayed at so far.

    Peter2014-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Roy and Paik are the most welcoming hosts. They make you feel you are almost part of their family. I enjoyed adding fresh herbs from the garden to my salads and the kids loved the wonderful breakfast. Thank you for such a wonderful stay !

    Julia2013-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Roy and Paik seem to acknowledge the fact that BnB's don't have to be in a quaint little cottage & run by jaded/nosy hosts. Simply put, they have really packaged up a delightful experience at their stunning home in Kerikeri. During my 2 day stay with them, they defied every BnB Stereotype I had in my head since childhood. Every element of the stay was completely 5 star - the breakfasts were thoughtful and memorable, with Paik offering up 3 different varieties of museli, fresh fruits, and a full American breakfast served with preserves made from fruits coming from her own garden, she was as thoughtful & easy to talk to as your favourite auntie. Roy steps in and spices things up with great conversation & wonderful recommendations, but without being too overbearing or nosy. Take a walk with him and Sascha (their great dog) and chat about the expatriate life in New Zealand. The room itself was very well furnished & modern, the white padded carpet throughout was soft & high quality. I fell straight to sleep on a comfortable bed with 6 Fluffy feather down pillows on it, and woke up to a view over a 5th generation 1,000 acre farm that's picturesque countryside at it's finest. The bathroom is stunning - marble mosaic on the walls & a solid travertine sink, heated towel racks & a quality rain shower head. They had a fast internet connection with tons of blu-ray movies to choose from for entertainment, but when I was at the house, I enjoyed conversing with them too much to turn on the TV. Their pool was clean & is swimmable during the summer, and the guest rooms are on their own side of the estate so there's plenty of privacy to be had if you need it. In closing, this is the best AirBnB experience i've had to date - Don't waste your time with the hotels & motels in the area on your northland visit, go up and see Roy and Paik for an experience you will remember!

  • We had the most wonderful stay with Dave and Christina in their beautiful home. We stayed 4 nights and could easily have stayed longer. The accommodation was fantastic. We had our own small lounge with TV, tea and coffee making facilities as well as a small fridge with its own mini bar. There was a separate toilet and bathroom both of which were clean and bright. Excellent toiletries and all the little extras like a hairdryer and Radox. The bedroom was a good size and we had wardrobe space if needed. All the linen was fresh and of great quality. Dave and Christina could not have been more hospitable . They made us so welcome and were really helpful in assisting us with things to do in and around the Kerikeri region. Breakfast was great and the fact that it was eaten overlooking their beautifully manicured garden meant that we often wanted to just sit there and do nothing! We had take away food on a couple of nights after full on days out and about and they were more than happy for us to bring this through to the outside breakfast area. They even joined us for some white chocolate and raspberry ice cream! We loved the Kerikeri area and would recommend this as a base for anyone. The town itself is pretty and it is a great place to explore the bay of islands and further north. Truly, if you are looking to travel around this part of New Zealand then I would not look any further than The Music House. You will be treated to wonderful hospitality and no doubt a tune or two on the piano from Dave.

  • Dave and Christina are friendly, warm and charming hosts and for whom nothing is a trouble. From the outset we were made to feel very welcome. Their home and the facilities on offer to us as B&B guests were second to none. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in doing so again or recommending anyone else to do so. First class accommodation and B&B experience

    Gary2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • In one word: Perfect! One of the best AirBnB experience we had. Dave and Christina are lovely people and we enjoyed some great talks with them. We felt at home and very comfortable in the absolutely tidy, clean and very spacious studio which was our accommodation. It provided everything we needed including a mini bar and a foulder with a lot of advice what to do in the area. The breakfast each morning was delicious. A wonderful place to stay!

  • Dave and Christina were such lovely hosts. The music house was spacious and very clean. All amenities were same as described. Christina's freshly squeezed orange juice on arrival was fantastic enough to fuel our 3-4hrs journey to Kerikeri. Bed was firm and comfy. Continental breakfast with coffee and toasted croissants were great to start a day too. Highly recommended place to stay with lovely hosts!

    Jay2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastically luxurious accommodation with every facility you could possibly require. The hosts Dave & Christina are friendly and knowledgable on the area and go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable. Thoroughly recommended for anyone who likes 5* quality.

  • I stayed one night with Dave and Christina and had such a good time. Perfect place for winding down, relaxing and getting reorganized. They are really beautiful people who even picked me up from the bus stop and dropped me off the next day. They even showed me around in the area wich was highly appreciated since I only had one day in Kerikeri. Accomondation was spotless, breakfast delicious and the bed sooo comfy. Enjoyed the conversations and hearing their stories from their home countries. If you get a chance to stay here, do it! Thanks for everything Dave and Christina!
