  • The house was exactly what we were looking for. It was well equipped for a large group with plenty of space to enjoy both inside and out. Check in and check out was also really easy which made our stay even more enjoyable.

    Chloe2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful house, beds very comfy, kitchen well equipped and spacious, lovely bathrooms, huge garden with trampoline and decking for sitting out in the eve. Great walking routes around the local area. WiFi a bit patchy so far out in the country, but that's ok as long as you don't need to stream any videos or anything. A brilliant stay and incredible value for money!

  • Great location close enough to Birmingham to commute for the week. Also far enough away to enjoy a family trip here.

  • My family and I absolutely loved the place. The house was very comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and was great for family gatherings. There was even a tree house and a trampoline in the backyard! Overall, great experience.

  • A fantastic home to visit with young and older family members. The kids thoroughly enjoyed making the most of the trampoline and tree house. The situation is delightful with many walks in the area. The house was well equipped and there was plenty of parking for all our visitors (20). We would definitely like to return.

  • We had a great time at Liz's country house. She was a helpful host who replied quickly regarding a few issues.

  • We had 13 of us staying for a hen party. We had a lovely time, we had a take away curry on the Friday, Saturday we went rafting which was really fun and then in the afternoon stayed in the house and went to a local pub in the evening. The place was big enough to sit around the table for our curry and sit in the lounge in the afternoon. The beds were also very comfy.

My place is close to parks, art and culture, great views, restaurants and dining Severn Valley Railway, West Midlands Safari Park and Bewdley Town 5 minutes walk. You’ll love my place because of the location, the views, the people, the ambiance Grade 11 Listed Building seeping in history dates back to 1632 with beamed ceilings in every room and double sided log burner. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
  • Really lovely place. Nice outside courtyard to enjoy the good weather and give the kiddos somewhere to let off steam. Beautiful decor and furnishings plus all the essentials you need - shampoo, coffee, tea, fluffy towels and a bath you can't resist using (I'm usually a shower girl!). There was even milk in the fridge when we arrived and a pack of biccies! Thank you for a lovely stay. Only sad that we were unable to enjoy the cottage more as we were in town for a wedding so out for most of the day. Wonderful to be able to explore the pretty town the following morning - it has really interesting history and the museum is great.

    Morgan2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed as 2 couples with our dogs and the cottage was perfect. River walks almost on the door step and a quaint little town to explore. We'd planned to eat out but Anne's cottage was so lovely - cosy and well equipped - we decided to stay home to make the very best of it! Huge dining table, comfy sofas and log burner plus cosy bedrooms, fabulous bathroom. What's not to love? Anne's a great host, flexible with arrival and departures plus a tea, coffee and biscuits - book Malt House, we promise you won't regret it... thank you so much Anne for letting us stay in your beautiful home!

    Nicola2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from 1 Malt House I can honestly say it was ideal. Location could not have been better . We can park your car and forget it for your stay. The property had everything thing you could possibly need. The beds were amazing . Best sleep ever. Dog lovers this is definitely for you. Dog friendly and lovely walks minutes away. Bewdley is a lovely place to visit with plenty of pubs and place to eat . Anne was a great Host and had thought of everything. Fantastic place.

  • Beautiful old cottage 5 mins walk from centre of Bewdley. Cottage has been tastefully modernized and is very well equipped. Despite its central location noise was not a problem even on a bank holiday weekend. The availability of two parking spaces is a further advantage. There are numerous pubs and restaurants nearby, as well as Bewdley Station for the Severn Valley Steam Railway. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this cottage.

    Paul2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • A brilliant night away in Bewdley at Anne's place! The location was great for walking into the quaint town, the place had a lot of character, and Anne was there to greet us on arrival and promptly saw to anything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and there is a lovely outside space to eat.

    Samantha2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location: Quiet, but in less than 5 minutes walk you are in the centre of beautiful Bewdley. Comfortable end terrace cottage with two rooms (double sided wood burner between) Nice bright clean bedrooms and bathroom. The pictures really don't do it justice. Anne was relaxed and efficient. We would definetely go back. We had a great time.

    Mark2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed with our 2 year old to visit WMSP and Severn Valley Railway - location of house could not be more perfect. Also easily walkable to shops and cafes in town. House is beautifully decorated and has all you need. Loads of character. Love that Anne supplies the basics so packing isn't too arduous - tea, coffee, tea towels etc etc. Also very flexible on arrival and departure time which is so helpful with a toddler. Communication was excellent at all times. Would definitely return again. Only recommendation with little ones is to take a stair Gate or ask Anne if she can supply.

    Beth2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Unique house, centrally located and perfect for our stay (event at Spring Grove House). The hosts were communicative and although we didn't meet they made us feel very welcome and there were lots of lovely homely touches. Definite recommend. Thanks!

  • We stayed at the Rockhouse for a couple of nights last week for our 'mini-moon' and it was a wonderful experience! We were amazed by the scale of Angelo's achievement when we saw it on Grand Designs, and it was fantastic to be able to experience it for ourselves. The cave is really comfortable, beautifully decorated and we loved the atmospheric lighting. The patio area in front of the cave also feels like a room in itself with a well equipped BBQ area, fire pit and two seating areas for meals, drinks or in our case, backgammon :-) If you're looking for a relaxing break away in an unusual and unique destination, secluded enough for some peace and quiet and yet close to the many amenities of a nearby town (Bewdley is a lovely Georgian town about a 10 minute drive away, and well worth a visit), then book now! You won't regret it :-)

  • Amazing time here at the rock house with my soulmate. We needed to get away to somewhere magical, this surpassed anything I'd imagined. The work that has gone into making this unique escape is phenomenal. Well done to the host, Angelo, such a friendly and inspiring fellow. The lunar activity on the first night was really something special, the super moon twinned with some crazy cloud formations made for a surreal experience for both me and Natasha. Highly recommend place for couples to have the perfect escape from reality and stay in an amazing cave house. Thank you so much, we will be returning for sure Ryan :)

    Ryan2016-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Rockhouse was the perfect retreat for a quiet and romantic weekend escape. Angelo was an amazing host and was very helpful when we arrived. The food and wine that was left for us was very greatly received! I would thoroughly recommend anyone to experience a night or two at the rockhouse!

Hot tub was a lovely bonus and the box of chocolates was a lovely treat once the smalls went to bed. Minutes away from the safari park and Severn valley train station. A perfect place for a mini family get away.

  • 4 of us stayed here for a long bank holiday weekend. We were greeted by the owners son when we arrived and he was very helpful. The house has a lovely kitchen and living space. We were able to use the hot tub whenever we wanted, which was comfortable for 4 people (not sure i would want to go in with 6people). I would definitely recommend for 2 sets of couples to visit as it has 2 double beds and the then 2 fold away singles. The one area of improvement was that many of the glasses were dirty when we arrived, though we appreciate there was a tight turn around between 6people leaving and us checking in

Converted Barn, in peaceful rural location on working family farm. Haye Farm is mixed, with rare breed sheep and cattle, apple, pear, plum and cherry orchards and a coarse fishery, and well situated for access to amenities close to historic Bewdley.
There are four sleeping rooms; a ground floor 6-bed dorm, a ground-floor disabled access twin/double with wet room, and two first floor bedrooms, sleeping 3 and 4 respectively. The barn is a hostel-style set-up so you'll need to bring your own sleeping bag or duvet and towels, duvets are available at an additional cost of £3-£5 per person. Whilst the twin/double disabled access room is en-suite, the rest of the rooms share toilet/washroom facilities; there is a toilet/washbasin and separate shower upstairs beside each private room and these are shared with the dorm below - and there is an additional toilet/washbasin just inside the main door. Internally there is also a well equipped shared kitchen with washing machine, dryer, microwave, fridge-freezer etc., a lounge with large flat screen television, and dining area. Externally there is a barbecue area, small lawn, and covered decking, overlooking an apple/pear orchard. Depending on the time of year there is usually some Haye Farm produce available - such as apples (and apple juice), pears, plums, cherries, eggs and occasional vegetables. The two lakes provide coarse fishing too (for an additional charge). We also keep rare breed cattle and sheep, which are on pasture as much of the time as possible, and are taking a regenerative approach to farming, with holistic management and holistic planned grazing to build soils and biodiversity at the same time as improving animal health and welfare (including enabling us to keep the stock outside, comfortably, for more of the year).
The farm is on the edge of the Wyre Forest, according to Wikipedia 'a large, semi-natural (partially unmanaged) woodland and forest measuring 26.34 square kilometres (10.17 sq mi) which straddles the borders of Worcestershire and Shropshire'. The forest is a great places for walks, cycling, and nature watching as well as various other activities, including 'Go Ape' forest adventure, for adults as well as children (search the web for more info (hint: also Wyre Forest Visitor Centre); links aren't allowed here!) The local town (Bewdley) is well served with shops, and a good variety of places to eat. The tourist information site provides more information including about museums and houses - and gardens and arboretums; the town itself is Georgian and there is much of historic interest in the area. The Severn Valley Railway (Heritage Line) runs from Kidderminster, through Bewdley and on via Arley, Highley, and Hampton Loade, to Bridgenorth, thus offering plenty of opportunities for a varied day out by train (again just take a look around the web for more information about these places). West Midland Safari Park, a few miles away, provides another family day out - and/or if you want to see the area by foot there is the Worcestershire Way and the Severn Way (with much of historic interest). Cyclists can easily access the Mercian Way. That should be enough to get going...
  • We loved staying in the converted barn. We visited for a relaxing hen do weekend away and found the barn to be well equipped and very clean. Stuart was friendly, helpful and easily contactable throughout our stay. The barn is situated in a beautiful location, 15/20 mins walk from Bewdley with shops and pubs. Lovely scenic walks to surround.

    Emma2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was magnificent! Stuart's barn and farm were just perfect for my choir's workshop and our folk photo session. Stuart was friendly and helpful, the barn-spacious and clean, the neighbourhood - quiet and picturesque, all you need for a perfect weekend. We also enjoyed Stuart's healthy and delicious apple juice. We would love to come again and we can definitely recommend it. And thank you Stuart for your help with the photo session. You can see some of the photos on our website (URL HIDDEN) or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Senza Nome Coventry.

  • Standard, but spacey hostel in an absolutely beautiful area. The farm adds a priceless charm to the place. While cleanliness of the place turned out to be an issue for us, the low price reflects a pretty good value despite this.

    Zach2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stuart's sleeping barn is spacious, well laid out, comfortable, well-equipped and proved ideal for a long-weekend for our group of 14 walkers. The photos don't really do the accommodation justice. We also made good use of the outdoor covered deck area and the BBQ. Haye Farm is a 20 minute walk from the charming old town of Bewdley and is ideally placed for walks along the Severn and the Worcestershire Way.

    Daniel2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was a perfect venue for our group of 3 families with young kids to get together on a rainy November weekend. It is a really simple spacious set up which was a huge advantage - the kids played happily and freely without the parents worrying about breakages, ornaments, etc. Also the site had a main gate that could be closed so the kids had free run of the garden and (even better given the rain) the large covered deck area. It was great value all round and each family said they would happily go again.

    Kate2015-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is basic, but good as an option for groups and big families. The kitchen and dining areas are useable for large numbers and the lounge area is a good size, but could be cosier. The location is good for access to Wyre forest for a day out and has a lovely outside space which would be perfect in the summer. Overall, we were very happy.

    James2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here after completing the three peaks challenge and it couldn't of been any more perfect for us. Plenty of space and a great balcony to entertain. Thank you Stuart

    David2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • The barn was absolutely perfect for our group weekend away (11 adults and 2 children). There was loads of space - separate living and dining areas and a great sized kitchen for communal cooking. It was wonderfully warm inside and peaceful outside. Stuart made the booking very easy and was there when we arrived in the dark, making us feel very welcome. The bedrooms were comfortable with a good combination of single, double, and bunk beds. We enjoyed exploring nearby Bewdley and made the most of local walks and runs. Thank you for a great weekend.

  • A lovely stay!! Sandra was very welcoming and accommodating. Always there to help, and a very friendly host. A lovely breakfast too, with many options! A very convenient location too, as the safari park is only a 20 minute walk from the house, and a shop and a bus stop a 2 minute walk away. The room was lovely, with water and bus travel information available. Also left me an apple every morning to take on my travels with me! Couldn't recommend staying here enough, really enjoyed my stay and Sandra made me feel at home!

    Jadey2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra's an amazing host who went the extra mile to help us! She knew we had a lot of heavy bags, and so picked us up from Kidderminster train station, and she prepared a lovely breakfast for us. She's up for a good chat (she has a lot of great stories!) but if you just want to quietly watch TV with her, or go to your room, then that's fine too.

    Mary2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra is a lovely hostess and her home is well situated near a lovely park. It is exactly as described. She provided bottled water and some reading material in our room, which we appreciated, and a good breakfast, as well as a cuppa at bedtime on request.

Welcome to Fox Hollow, our lovely guest accommodation here at Foxall Farm which is the perfect countryside escape. The cottage is very light and spacious in a quiet secluded spot where you can enjoy some uninterrupted peace and tranquillity. This is private space although the family home is nearby so we will be happy to provide you with local information on where to explore and recommendations, although we warn you that you may not want to leave!
Newly renovated with all essentials included you can have your home-from-home comforts in an idyllic forest setting. Downstairs is open plan, upstairs has sloped ceilings. Watch out for the deer - they are regular visitors and there is plenty of other wildlife too. Locally there is the West Midland's Safari Park, Severn Valley Railway, Go Ape Wyre Forest, Wharton Park Golf course, fishing on the River Severn, horse riding, hiking and cycling in the forest. There are pubs and café's withing easy walking distance, a pick your own fruit farm and lots of historic properties nearby to name a few!
  • Lovely house in a great location for a country getaway, with lots of local attractions - great pub! Carolyn the host was lovely and very welcoming.

    Katherine2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here, very homely and well kept. Loved being surrounded by the horses and greenery. We will definitely visit again!

    Katie2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay to enjoy the countryside. Lots of things to do a short drive away or just pop through the gate and enjoy the marked woodland trails and cafe. The house was spotless and the hosts were very welcoming. The pub at the end of the road is also good.

    Laura2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at foxall farm. The cottage is clean and simply decorated but has all the basics and with beautiful views out over the fields, horses to watch and a nice safe yard to run out into our kids were really happy! Beautiful countryside to explore locally and a pub within spitting distance (but no associated noise!) if you want to take it easy in the evening. Most importantly our hosts were LOVELY. Very welcoming and helpful and laid back.

    Jessie2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is a gem, newly converted & furnished, the photo's don't do it justice the open plan lounge ,dining area and kitchen are huge. Load of space 2 bedrooms upstairs one with toilet and basin. ample bathroom downstairs with good flow shower. We will use it again.

    david2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent value for money accommodation in a rural, peaceful setting. I have to agree with previous reviews that the photographs do not do this property justice. It was exceptionally clean and fully equipped to a high standard. It was an ideal base for my husband and I to explore the Severn Valley and surrounding area of Worcestershire. It felt like a home from home rather than a self catering establishment. The picturesque, Georgian town of Bewdley is a 10 minute drive and there are numerous restaurants to suit all tastes. We particularly enjoyed waking up in the morning and pulling the curtains to see the horses in the field next to the cottage peering into our window or the ducks tapping on the patio door glass. So in conclusion a lovely spot for a bit of R and R. We would highly recommend Foxall Cottage and would not hesitate to book with Carolyn our host again.

The apartmemt exceeded my expectations and included everything required for a comfortable stay. I would definately use it again and recommend it to friends visiting the area.

  • Fantastic stay at Wesley's place, which is very quiet. It was situated just out of Kidderminster with a lovely country vibe, but also close to local amenities and locations.... just what I needed. I stayed there on my own, but there is ample space for two and the studio is nicely set up. Wesley was quick to respond to any requests and answered all my questions. He definitely wants you to enjoy your stay and will go out of his way to make that happen. I will be staying there again in the future.

Wesley is a really friendly host who genuinely cares about his guests. Nothing is too much trouble. The house is very easy to find, in the countryside and yet only 5 minutes from Kidderminster. The area is beautiful with lots to do and explore.

3 bed family home sleeps 5. 2 living rooms, bathroom +WC, garden room, log burner. Firestick and Amazon Prime TV. Walk and cycle the Wyre Forest, canals, Severn Valley, Malverns & Shropshire. Good fishing. Great base for visiting Birmingham ( Black Country Musuem, Cadburys World, Safari Park, Steam Railway). Resident cat, (Beauty) needs feeding twice a day. Unrestricted on street parking.
During your visit, I will be staying in a caravan, onsite at the end of the garden. You cannot see it from the house. I have my own entrance /exit and will not intrude on your time, but am on hand for any queries or help and you might see me watering the patio sometimes. This is a new addition to the original listing and I have not put any pics up yet, but has worked very well with the last 4 groups of guests.
    Quiet cul-de-sac
  • An excellent place to stay, and Katy is a very welcoming, accomodating and friendly host. If you're concerned it might be odd for her to be staying at the end of the garden don't worry, it works fine and you can't see it from the house. The rooms are comfortable and the whole house was clean and tidy. Only caveat to mention is that there's a fish tank in the room with the sofa bed which made it difficult to sleep there.

  • Katy's house is comfortable and homely. The house is incredibly clean and tidy. The television is easy to use with access to extra channels and playback such as amazon and BBC IPlayer. The kitchen is spacious and clean with easy to use appliances. Our stay included 4 adults and a child with special needs. We had plenty of space and Katy was keen to make us feel at home but equally gave us plenty of space and let us settle in. Katy gave advice on local shops, attractions and places to eat. Brilliant host and house, would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

This is a 2 foot wide, dense foamy on the floor in a tiny room classed as a 'cot' room, very comfy but only ok for a night or 2. The room is available from 6.0 pm to 10.0 am most days of the week. You are welcome in the sitting room and can hook up to my WiFi. Tea, coffee and cereal breakfast is available. I have both a cat and a dog, not allowed in this room but very present throughout the rest of the house. For this reason the space is not suitable for another dog, sorry.
The house is small. You will be a very personal guest
I have enjoyed many walks nearby including, Wyre Forest, Severn Valley steam Train walk and ride, river and canal walks. Nearby attractions include: Kidderminster carpet factory, Severn Valley Safari park and historic Bewdley.

We have a large family detached house on the Outskirts of Kidderminster in a small village called Franche, its very near Bewdley which is beautiful and all our students love to visit, its a train ride from our home to Birmingham or Worcester, Kidderminster is the nearest town with all the normal Shops you would need, plus banks & Cinema, Leisure Centre etc. Merry Hill is the nearest Shopping Complex with all the up-to-date shops & restaurants. Bewdley has beautiful restaurants, Merry Hill has Nandos, nearby we have McDonalds & KFC which Students seem to like! however there are some excellent restaurants also nearby We have some lovely walks nearby, we live next to a Pub too, which is good in a hurry for a cheap meal, nothing special but easier than cooking ourselves on occasions! We have 1 cat, a teenager called Jack, a nuisance but beautiful 4 year old Matilda! Wifi, Sky Tv We are happy to provide evening meals & pack lunches as required at extra cost, A light breakfast is available within the price, on help yourself basis, for full english at weekends would be an extra charge We started Hosting Student's initially because of the location where we live it meant our son Jack could not go out when he was younger and interact socially, we thought having Student's/Visitors form around the world was a great idea for us all to learn about different cultures and make friends around the world and in the UK. We can put down an additional single mattress in the room if required.

  • From the minute we walked in we knew we'd be back. The house is extremely spacious, with 3 beautiful bedrooms and well fitted bathrooms. It's full of character, lovely furnishings and 'knick knacks' and ornaments which give it a real home-from-home feel. The conservatory gives great views and our two dogs were made welcome and loved exploring round the house and garden. We loved the horses, too. It has a really special feel to the place. Perfect.

It has a great entertaining/sociable kitchen & a good sized yet cozy, warm lounge. The bedrooms are all of a good size, with 2 of them having en-suites which is a great bonus. The location is so quiet & peaceful, perfect for a relaxing stay. The local area has lots to do and the location is a fantastic opportunity to explore the region with brilliant transport links nearby whether it be by car or train. Friendly horses in the paddock near by and a lovely holiday place for any dog owners too as there are more than enough walks and space in and around the property for you and your for legged friends to explore- we will definitely be back!

  • Wow. What a brilliant location. Fantastic house with lots of room for all to relax and enjoy. Friendly, welcoming and clean with lots of hot water and heating. Couldn't ask for more. Thanks

  • Spacious Kitchen and cosy Living room - home from home feel with amazing views and very quiet and peaceful location - The host was very welcoming and helpful. The local tips on where the best places to eat were much appreciated and accurate.

    Bernard2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The property is a large modern build cottage that still has the country farm house feel. It's situated in scenic landscape with views as far as the eye can see. The photos of the property don't do it justice, you won't be disappointed if you stayed here. The price to stay in such a property is very fair and reasonable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for that countryside retreat

    Robert2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is in a very rural setting on a farm which makes it very tranquil and a perfect retreat to stay in. The house is very spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The heating is very efficient so you definitely wouldn't be cold in the winter months. Andrew and his family are very welcoming and accommodating and live in the main farm house if needed. There are plenty of places to visit in and around Worcestershire

This double room is in a quiet house bordering on woodland in a quiet cul de sac with parking. Simon and Rosie will be on hand to welcome you with tea or coffee, happy to answer your questions or just leave you to settle in in peace!
This simple room is convenient for Birmingham by rail or road. Local attractions including the Severn Valley stream railway and the West Midlands Safari Park.
Though the house is part of an estate, it is close to woodland and there are lovely nature trails through the woods and along the local brook. It's a lovely place for walks, but close the the town centre for shopping and eating out.
  • Friendly and welcoming; clean and comfortable.

  • Rosie and Simon were extremely welcoming and made us feel at home. The room was comfortable and we were able to make tea and coffee whenever we wanted. Convenient location for the Severn Valley Railway and Kidderminster town centre in a quiet street. Good value for money and we would recommend staying with Rosie and Simon.

    Janet2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two nights at Rosie and Simon's. The room was very comfortable, and Rosie and Simon welcomed us nicely

    Françoise2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rosie and Simon were lovely hosts and we really appreciated their kindness and practical help welcoming my son and I into their home after a long, wet day of cycling. They were really accommodating of our unpredictable arrival time, facilities were good with a large, comfy, warm bedroom and they gave us a really warm welcome. I would definitely recommend their airbnb to other travellers.

  • Sadly didn't make it to stay with Rosie due to work. But through communication they were lovely and warm people. I'll be rebooking at the next opportunity

Romantic Jacobean half timbered cottage hidden in the heart of the ancient Wyre Forest, on the edge of a medieval royal deer park. Protected by a turbulent geology, the tranquil landscape has changed little over the last 1000 years. Historic little market towns are still sprinkled though the idyllic rural landscape. Close to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a World Heritage Site, and a Slow City.
Manor Holding is a Grade II Listed, half timbered, Jacobean cottage farmhouse in the scattered hamlet of Kingswood, so named after the royal forest of Wyre in whose centre it stands. Traces of an Iron Age moated settlement can be seen in a nearby field and of a lost medieval town in the surrounding forest. Rustic seclusion is the characteristic that strikes most people first about the cottage, as it is located 100m off a rough forest track (max recommended speed 10mph), half a kilometre from the nearest country lane. Once here visitors immediately notice the old world charm of the crooked timber frame, leaning walls and low ceilings. The cottage is naturally warm and full of sunlight, this being enhanced by white painted walls, pale terracotta ground floor and invisible under-floor heating. It is south facing with an enclosed and sheltered front garden of remarkable fertility. The cottage has two bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor, and 3 rooms plus hall, downstairs. It has been restored using appropriate materials such as earth daub, lime plaster and green oak, to regain much of it’s original character, and has an inglenook and old stone bread oven (not in current use). The farm yard, terminus of the drive, is on the north side of the cottage. It is surrounded by a ruined stone and brick pig sty, a small converted barn (The Byre), a high hedge bank, a stone outhouse undergoing renovation and a stone scullery leading off the east gable of the cottage. The 'Wyre Forest Cottage' and Byre can be rented either together or separately, but each is priced separately on our website. Manor Holding stands in 5 acres of coarse pasture and orchard reclaimed from the Wyre Forest during medieval times; and rich in wild flora and fauna including occasional visits by herds of fallow deer. The Wyre Forest is about 35 sq ml of ancient mixed species woodland standing astride the scenic River Severn, south of Ironbridge Gorge. The beautiful countryside around it, much of it classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is rich in historic settlements and other places of interest. The forest is laced with long and short distance rambling, cycling and horse riding trails; connecting right to the door of the cottage. Including the 109ml Abberley and Malvern Hills Geopark Way (which passes next to the cottage), Sustrans’ 230ml (370km) National Cycle Route 45 (Mercian Way), and the 203ml (327km) Sabrina Bridleway It contains a National Nature Reserve and extensive Site of Special Scientific Interest, including the two ancient orchards beside the cottage.
The nearest town is the Georgian port of Bewdley, some 4-5 miles east across the forest. The Severn Valley steam trains run from here to Saxon Bridgnorth and the mainline at Kidderminster, past the West Midlands Safari Park. 5 Miles west are the excellent taverns of charming Cleobury Mortimer, overlooked by the dramatic Titterdown Clee hill within the “South Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” (AONB), an outlier of the Welsh mountains. Half an hour to the West, time stands still in the medieval border town of Ludlow, Britain’s first “Slow City”; with its delightful narrow streets and market square at the castle gate. This town boasts Michelin starred restaurants and some of the best food shops in the region. A similar distance north is the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, nestling in a wooded gorge, birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and now filled with a fascinating mixture of museums.

My place is close to public transport, offering excellent access to Birmingham, London and Worcester, as Kidderminster train station is only a few minutes walk from the front door, along with several local bus routes, and the town centre itself. You’ll love my place because of its convenient location and the comfortable, bright rooms I have to offer. It's perfect for commuters on the mainline, though anyone wanting to discover the Severn Valley Steam Railway will also be very well suited here!
Currently being renovated and decorated, but I always ensure my guest room is clean, tidy and comfy as possible!
The location is fantastic if you love a tasty takeaway with a vast number of options available within a 5 minute walk. There are also several restaurants nearby.
  • Max was very professional and friendly and the room was exactly as advertised and great value.

    Jacob2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • The location was cental and very handy for the train station. The room was spacious, very clean and cosy. I slept very well. Max was very welcoming and amiable. We had a good chat. He was also very flexible over my arrival and departure times. All in all I would definitely recommend this B&B, and I'd like to thank Max for his hospitality.

    Simon2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Basic amenities but Max is currently into some decorating. Being so close to the station is ideal for me. Would definitely use it again.

    John2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • As it says in the description, Max has recently moved in so the décor is fairly basic but the house is warm, the bed is comfortable, it is a quiet road, and Max allowed me to use the kitchen and store some food in the fridge, so I was very happy with my stay and I would happily stay there again.

    Ed2017-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Max's place is great. Right on top of the train station, close to town and has parking. The house is warm and cosy, the cats and Max are all welcoming, some are also incredibly affectionate. The bed was incredibly comfy, room was adequate to a short or long stay, and I fell for Max's shower, powerful and hot!!! I'm looking forward to staying with Max and his cats again soon.

    Rachel2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • A comfortable bedroom and a very convenient location. A little bleak at the moment but I know that Max is working on improvements. Good value.

    Nick2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second stay with Max. My previous comments still stand, and may I just add he was incredibly flexible, my stay changed at short notice and Max was still able to accommodate my needs. I left Max to his shows while I had some work to do. Max didn't even disturb me when he got up on Monday to start work himself, which was great, having not had a lot of sleep. I won't hesitate to stay with Max again. He's a great host. Thank you Max xxx

  • Perfect, comfortable, peaceful! The attention to detail Carolyn and Neil have put into their Airbnb was 5 star! Neil greeted us on our arrival and showed us to the self contained beautifully maintained annexe overlooking their large garden. Everything was just perfect. Tea, coffee, various hot chocolate drinks, milk in the fridge and chocolate snacks.. couldn't ask for more! All the basic necessities- microwave, cutlery, crockery, hairdryer, and some toiletries all at hand. Even the little things like the mirror placed near sockets to dry your hair, which as many ladies will know makes life easier. Large Tv which we didn't in fact use as we were out and about most of the time and sitting on the balcony with a coffee in the morning was bliss. Our phone coverage wasn't brilliant in this area but the wifi provided by our hosts was more than suitable. This is a well located area to access many places of interest and would definitely be our first choice if in the area in the future. Highly recommended! Thanks Carolyn and Neil , perfect hosts and a perfect stay.

  • Bewdley is a fantastic place and the Cock & Magpie is a cracking pub in a beautiful location right on the river. The burgers served here are a delight and the staff were fantastically helpful. The host, Paul, was away the week I stayed but he dealt with my enquiries speedily and effectively his staff dealt very well with me on arrival. Paul is apparently converting the first floor into further rooms - the room I stayed in was on the second floor - and I have passed on my thoughts to him on things to consider as he increases the accommodation. I would recommend this pub to any future guests.

I have a 4 bedroom detached house in a pleasant rural village. The room is a fully furnished double room, with a pleasant view from the south facing window to the rear, and not overlooked by road or other properties. There is WiFi broadband access
The room on offer is a modest double room. There are built in double wardrobes and plenty of storage.
Far Forest is a small village right on the edge of the Worcestershire border. Shropshire is just a few hundred meters from the house. We are also not far from Herefordshire and the Welsh borders. Ludlow is a 25 minute drive with stunning views over the Clee Hills. Many miles of rural walks and the Wyre Forest is on the doorstep (although for planned walks the visitor centre is 1.5miles away).
