  • Highly recommend The Loft, we had travelled for 7 days with a 3 day stop over at The Loft. The Loft is handy to the train station local convenience store and coffee shop at the of the road is the Rising Sun Pub - a quintessential English Pub and delightful staff. The Loft is quiet and peaceful with a delightful garden to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, this was a welcome change for us to relax and recharge. Great historic place we loved it- thankyou.

  • Rachael’s place is lovely. It is very quiet and peaceful yet close to the station, which has a good service. There is a fantastic Indian restaurant a walk away, which also has a takeaway service that is highly recommended. I would have no hesitation in returning to Rachael’s place.

Wonderful bakery just a few minutes walk which is perfect for breakfast goods and pub very close by. We had all needed for our 2 night stay. Thanks again!

*contact-free check-in/out* Your own space in a rural village location close to Aylesbury. Perfect for 2, can sleep 3. Big garden, lots of birds and wildlife, nearest neighbours are cows and sheep. But only 50 minutes to London by train. Perfect to get away from it all. Self catering. N.B There is limited WiFi at the moment, enough for email and a little browsing
The Barn is the top floor of an all-wood heritage triple garage. It's got views across the Vale of Aylesbury to the Chilterns, and is perfect if you like to cycle (you can keep your bikes in the garage) or walk - or explore Midsomer Murders territory! Bishopstone is a tiny village, with a Newley refurbished local pub with great food, and the centre of Aylesbury is 3 miles away. Use of the garden with us - a mixture of formal lawns and beds and a flower meadow. Because the Barn has steps access it's no good for people with impaired mobility - sorry. You'll have your own space to yourselves - we're in the main house but that's 25m away. We are happy to take long-term bookings for midweek (Monday - Thursday) stays.
Bishopstone is a very small, quiet village. There are no street lights so you can see the stars on a clear night. In fact it's so quiet there are no shops, but there is a great, newly refurbished village pub! Your nearest neighbours are the cattle and sheep behind the barn. Having said that, you're only about 3 miles from the centre of Aylesbury, so it's not really 'the middle of nowhere'! Just peaceful and calm
  • Jan and Martin couldn't have provided more comprehensive info about their Barn. It was easy to find and get into. Much more spacious than I expected and very private as totally separate from the main house. Great to be able to park right outside and we appreciated the complimentary hot drinks and a jug of milk. Martin was very friendly when we crossed paths and gave some good recommendations for walks and pubs. It was nice that they were available if we had questions but very unobtrusive. The area is lovely and the barn really peaceful and restful. Would highly recommend booking this place if you're in the area.

  • A truly beautiful and tranquil space with majestic trees, birdsong and kites nesting outside the window. Blissful silence at night and starry skies! Flat has all the amenities you need including great coffee! Hosts were kind, generous, helpful, and respectful of privacy. To note, there is a farm right next door, which depending on the season may mean a shed full of cows very near, and the occasional farm noise (working tractor) or smells that come with.

  • A lovely barn in a beautiful setting!

    Maddie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little space, extremely clean, comfortable and well equipped. We stayed for a valentine's weekend and the loft had everything we needed. This is our first stay at The Barn and I'm sure it won't be our last! Thank You! :)

You are spoilt with the privacy of the entire rear loft conversion of our house. We are only 17 miles from Heathrow, 1 mile to Bray and 5 miles to Windsor/Ascot/Henley. It is also 5 minutes walk from Maidenhead rail station (Paddington main line), the town centre (pubs, cinema, reasonable shopping) and parks. You’ll love my place because of the comfy bed (converts from single to double), cosiness, the peace and quiet, and the privacy. Great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
Our house is a 1918 brick built semi-detached, with the loft converted in 2001.
A quiet residential street, close to transport links to the entire south east - M4, M40, M25, Paddington Mainline and Heathrow.

Stylish and spacious loft room for one person, in relaxed and friendly household.. The house is situated in a very pleasant cul de sac and faces a large green area, so there is plenty of secure parking. We are 5 mins walk from Cookham train station and the many pubs and restaurants of Cookham village, and the picturesque river area. We are always on hand to offer advice and assistance should guests need it.
Lots of parking, quiet, near train station, tea and coffee in room, very pleasant surroundings, friendly, helpful household.
Lots of lovely walks and cycle rides, good pubs and restaurants, efficient travel links, close to London and many interesting towns and villages.
  • I was pleasantly greeted by Stephen who kindly carried my heavy suitcase to the loft. The check in was smooth and all things explained to me. I had privacy which I needed after a very long journey. The bed was perfect and plenty hot water for a shower. Super close to the train station and close to various eateries. One of the nicest air bnb "s I've stayed in. I would definitely stay there again.

  • My dog Dobby and I enjoyed our stay with Caroline very much. The loft was easy to find and parking wasn’t a problem. It is cozy but at the same time, very spacious. There are shops and restaurants nearby as well. Dobby especially liked the garden and the huge green space in front of the house. Communication was always quick! Caroline was such a nice host and we love to come back in the future.

Self-contained annexe with a bright, first floor studio bedroom/living room and a kitchen and shower room below. The Loft Room has its own entrance and off-road parking. Situated in the heart of the beautiful Berkshire countryside with fantastic walks and a great local pub, but only ten minutes drive from J12 of the M4 and 25 minutes from Paddington by train. Pangbourne village is three miles away with a host of amenities. Would suit short-stay visitors or weekly commuters on a longer term let.
The Loft Room is a self-contained apartment above the garage adjacent, but separate, to the main house. It has been recently completed, is very cosy and ready for visitors. There is a king-sized bed and sofa-bed upstairs, together with a dining table with two chairs. The downstairs kitchen and bathroom are both well equipped and have underfloor heating.
The Loft Room is located in the leafy rural village of Upper Basildon, West Berkshire, with easy access to Pangbourne, Reading, Newbury and the M4.

  • My partner and I stayed at Jane and Pete's studio loft just before Christmas. It is exactly like it is in the pictures. It is cozy, and very comfortable. There was cake and milk waiting for us when we arrived, and the cooking facilities have everything you need for a long or short stay. The loft was very clean and the check in process was very easy. The location is great, especially if you have a car. It is about a 5 minute drive into Headington (which has lots of grocery shops and cafes) and 15 minutes into Oxford. Jane and Pete are lovely people and were always more than happy to help us with any advice about the area and were interested in how we were going. Our stay could not have been more enjoyable. We would absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be returning if we need somewhere to stay in the area again.

  • This is the third time we've stayed at Lucy's place. It's a gorgeous little haven! Stylish, quiet and clean. We feel utterly spoilt every time we visit as there are so many lovely details to our stay.

  • Beautiful, stylish accommodation, great location. Perfect for couples seeking to access Henley

    Nick2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Apple Loft is an amazing place to stay. The loft itself is fully kitted out with everything you could need and has a very cosy feel. Other than the exceptional bathroom, worth staying just for that, the personal touches such as fresh cut flowers, hand written greeting note and healthy breakfast Lucy provided made our stay. A stones throw away from Henley and a number of excellent pubs, it ideally located. I cannot recommend the Apple Loft enough, we are already looking for excuses to revisit the area just to stay again.

The Barn is tucked away in a private courtyard set back on a picturesque and quiet lane which leads towards the village high street. Steeped in history and oozing character, it dates back to the 18th century. Vaulted ceilings and old beams frame the bedrooms which are furnished with an ornate bed/sofa bed/Egyptian cotton bed linen in a combination of dusky pinks/greys all in a shabby chic style. Chandeliers, silk bedspread, Farrow and Ball paint and Cologne and Cotton toiletries/towels.
Originally a brewery dating back to 1760 The Barn was converted to a maltings in 1850 and remained part of a large brewing operation linked to a Windsor brewery. In around 1912 the main house was converted from a grain store into a residential home comprising two apartments. Between the World Wars the house was converted back into one residence. The two malting barns used to form part of a complex of three malting barns and two kilns. When the brewery business closed, the barns were used variously for a village school (you can still see God Save The Queen markings on the walls) a jam factory and a car body workshop. The family before us was in residence between 1952 and 2012. Since then we have been busy renovating the house, garden and barns. The renovation and conversion of the upper barn, by a local building company, into an apartment, was finished in August 2017. It is split into three levels with wider staircases, a modern shower room, a first floor king bedroom and a mezzanine with sofa bed and writing desk/chair. It has a south-easterly prospect looking out onto small orchard. The space is ideal for short stays and remote working. As of April 2019, we serve a light Continental breakfast. However, you can book and pay for fresh English breakfast at many of the local pubs.
Cookham is friendly and fun. It has all amenities for day to day needs and is a great place to relax.

Perfect for self isolation during COVID19. The Boathouse is completely private with great wifi and wonderful river views. 5 minute walk to Boots, Waitrose and Willow Basket food shops. Furnished to a high standard offering spacious. Studio Sleeping arrangements: One King bed and a large sofa which converts into a double bed with a feather goose down John Lewis mattress topper, this sleeps one adult. Please note we do not provide breakfast. Includes WiFi, Sonos, Netflix, Amazon Prime.
The boat house was newly built in 2017 and furnished to a high specification. It was designed to offer a large open space that floods with light and offers unrivalled views over the river, across the town and of Henley Bridge. A 2 minute walk from the town centre, it is ideally placed to take advantage of everything the town has to offer or secluded enough to watch the world go by from the large balcony.
Henley is a quaint market town on the banks of the river Thames - one of the prettiest towns in the UK. The boat house is in a set back position perfectly situated alongside Henley Bridge. For a small town we have a lot to offer! Outstanding walks down the river or cycles in the chiltern hills, national trust homes, Picturehouse cinema and the Kenton theatre to name just a few. There are no shortages of restaurants, bars and pubs in the town. Some have been here for many years including Villa Marina (traditional Italian) and others are newer arrivals but flourishing including Spice Merchant (Indian) and Hart Street Tavern (Modern British Cuisine) or for pub food the Three Tuns is the place to go. The Little Angel is known for its garden overlooking the towns cricket pitch while the Bull on Bell is Brakspears flagship bar/restaurant and offers a more modern venue with live music on Friday evenings. Whether you want a break away to unwind and relax or a busy weekend of activities - there are few places that can offer the best of both worlds like a stay at the boat house.
  • It was a pleasure to stay at the Boat House, we could have spent hours just looking out the window at watching the Thames and wildlife flow by. The property is well equipped with everything that you need for a comfortable stay, offering peace and tranquility while only being a bridge away from all the bars and restaurants of Henley town centre. Would defiantly recommend and look forward to staying again in the future.

  • What a wonderful place to stay. The boathouse was immaculate and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Perfect location , literally 2 minute walk and your in the centre of Henley on Thames which has plenty of shops and restaurants. Walks on your door step or just sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. Will definitely be returning.

  • Great location right on the river in Henley. Could water a lot of time just watching life on and around the river go by from the balcony or from inside looking out. The boathouse has everything you need as well as having everything that’s great and on offer in Henley right on your door step.

A beautiful private space all to yourself, the Oak Barn has great character and enjoys lovely views over fields to the Chilterns beyond. You have your own entrance and key so can come and go as you please. The hamlet of Preston Crowmarsh lies on the river Thames and is a great place to spot red kites. A 5 minute walk takes you to the Thames towpath and an 8 minute walk to the bus stop for Oxford and Reading. We leave you to enjoy your privacy but are next door in the main house if needed.
The Oak Barn has underfloor heating so is toasty warm and cosy in the winter. Big windows open onto the fields beyond so sunlight streams in too. The space is accessed up a wooden staircase with handrail and has a cupboard at the top for your coats and wellies/walking boots. Inside you'll find a king size bed, a desk in the window with gorgeous views over the fields, a comfy sofa to watch the TV, a radio and cd player, a bookshelf full of books and a basket full of cards and games. We have reliable WiFi connection and good mobile phone reception. We supply towels, soap and shampoo in the en-suite shower room which also has underfloor heating. There is a small fridge and a kettle and all equipment needed to make tea and coffee. You can use our washing machine and dryer (or better still the washing line!), please just ask. You can watch the occasional helicopters coming and going at nearby RAF Benson and sometimes even the Red Arrows, you shouldn't find the noise intrusive and they never fly after midnight.
There are numerous places nearby to visit including Dorchester on Thames with it's glorious abbey, Wallingford, home of Agatha Christie and Henley-on-Thames, a pretty market town internationally famous for its rowing regatta and festival. The university city of Oxford is a 20 minute bus ride away. Also nearby are National Trust properties Greys Court, Nuffield Place and Basildon Park. Harcourt Arboretum, the Earth Trust Centre, the Aston Martin Heritage Trust Museum and Wittenham Clumps for stunning panoramic views of south Oxfordshire are all close by too. The next door village of Benson, an easy walk from the Barn, has everything you need including a pharmacy, library, supermarket, gift shop, butcher, pubs, a takeaway, a dentist, doctors surgery and a church. At either end of Preston Crowmarsh we are lucky enough to have 2 very good cafes open throughout the year, perfect for a riverside breakfast with the papers, for lunch or a leisurely cream tea, both cafes are within 10 minutes walk.

  • We stayed in Windsor for the Royal Wedding. And we also got the Royal Treatment. Exceeded all expectations. Great local recommendations, special Royal amenity and greeted upon our return both evenings. They could have charged much more because of the wedding but stayed true to the regular rate. The responses were always timely and always helpful. They put the sparkle in our trip. Hospitality at it’s finest. A huge thank you to Luisa and Phil.
