Holiday Rentals in Blessington

Just booked in Blessington

The Studio is close to the Wicklow hills. The name comes from it's previous life as a recording studio. It is ideally located for walkers or for anyone looking to get away from it all but yet still be within driving reach of restaurants and pubs. It's also well located for attending an event in Tulfarris hotel (2.5km). Local taxi available. You’ll love the Studio because of the tranquility, the beautiful views of the lakes and hills. Our place is good for singles, couples with or without kids.
The Studio was a commercial recording studio in a previous life and played host to some big names during the 80s & 90s. These days it's a very comfortable 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. The living/dining space is open plan. It is a light and airy room (6m x 6m) with beautiful views to the garden and countryside. There is a double sofa bed in the living area. The Studio has a full kitchen with everything needed to cook meals.
The Studio is tucked away down a country lane. While there is no road noise whatsoever, we are surrounded by farmland so sometimes you would hear the usual sounds of the country (mooing, baaing, cock a doodle do!)
  • A super place to stay, very comfortably furnished, warm and cosy studio set in very pleasant natural surroundings

  • Beautiful place

  • Ruth and Philip did everything in their power to make me feel welcome. The studio itself is a very well built and well equipped place with beautiful views and peace and stillness. My dog was made genuinely welcome too, which meant a lot to me. I felt that I was being made part of the whole family. Even their young son found the studio key for me when I had lost it!Their own two little dogs and three horses were all a delight, not to mention the gardener. Everyone was so very natural and friendly. I would definitely be back if I get a chance. Thanks for an unpressured and helpful experience.

  • I stayed with Catherine for 2 weeks and I enjoyed it. She lives in a nice quiet neighbourhood. The house was clean and room lovely and cozy. She went out of her way to pick me up in her car when I fist arrived. Also, the price is good and actually the house looks way nicer in reall life than in the photos. I highly recommend staying with Catherine for anyone visiting blessington. The house is within walking distance from the lakes (25 mins) and The host is a very nice lady.

My accommodation is suitable for couples, lone adventurers, business travelers and furry friends (pets). The Robin's House is located in Blessington in County Wicklow, known as the Garden of Ireland. The presence of the large lake makes the village a small oasis of tranquility. Close to the wonderful but chaotic Dublin it takes about an hour from the town center with public transportation to get the Dublin city center.
La nostra casa molto confortevole può ospitare 2 persone. Siamo situati a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro della città.
Blessington is one of the biggest towns in West Wicklow. Beside the Blessington Lakes and the Wicklow Mountains, Blessington is steeped in history. Around every corner there are buildings, statues, and relics of the past staring back at you. Some of the more noticeable features include the Credit Union House, Downshire Monument, Saint Mary’s Church of Ireland, and the Horseshoe Arch, all of which are found in the centre of town.
  • Choose to stay here as Turfarras hotel was fully booked. Ensuite room was clean (if a little dated) however, tea making facilities (biscuits) and toiletries provided. Luca even drove me to the hotel as a curiosity (good 10 minute drive) Cereal, Juice and coffee in the morning (Traditional Italian breakfast cake was also included, timing I guess as mother in law was staying)

    Barry2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Luca and Elisa were lovely hosts, very welcoming and they made us feel at home right away. The room was very nice, spacious and we had a separate bathroom. Elisa took very good care of us at anytime and did everything for our wellbeing. We stayed there two days and had a great breakfast every morning, we even got two different delicious homemade cakes. Luce took the time to give us very helpful advice where to go and what to see. All in all it was a wonderful stay we enjoyed very much and can fully recommend! Thanks again Elisa&Luca!

  • Very friendly hosts . Clean and comfortable accommodation in a great location for the city . Perfect base for staying after a late ferry crossing and travelling back to Dublin port . Easy journey in . Added bonus is my dog was able to stay which makes this invaluable for us animal lovers that like to take our pets with us . Breakfast was lovely and I enjoyed my home made vegan apple tart on the ferry back to England :-)

    Siobhan2017-09-07T00:00:00Z

  • For once, I didn't do much research on where to stay as it was very last minute, and I was so pleasantly surprised! Such a nice quiet place with nice views. Muriel is very nice and gave me scones twice and many other things! There's everything you need. You probably need a car if you stay here and want to explore, I didn't mind taking the bus because I'm a young traveler but it may be exhausting otherwise. Dublin isn't too far but I love Blessington and the lakes, and the people in this town are so kind! I had an amazing two weeks here and felt as though I was in my own home! Thanks again Muriel & Tom, its been one of the best airbnb experiences I've had by far.

    Alice2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • A nice location if you just want to relax or go and explore.

    William2017-07-16T00:00:00Z

  • One of the best Airbnb I have been in to. Totally recommend it. Muriel and Niamh was very friendly. Thanks for hosting us.

    Shejin2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Muriel and Tom were absolutely wonderful. We were unfamiliar with the area so Muriel met us at a local shopping centre and guided us to the house. From there she made us a beautiful breakfast and wonderful tea and coffee. Her place has the most gorgeous view of the country side and is just a short drive to Dublin. Every day she gave us such helpful advice for the surrounding areas and her husband Tom was just as kind. We most definitely didn't want to leave. This is a perfect stay for those wanting a quiet country stay but easy access to Dublin.

    Lexi2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great welcome from Muriel and Tom. Apartment lovely. Fresh scones on table and extra touch of welcome basket. Everything you need in the apartment. Beautiful garden.

    Sue2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Muriel was an amazing host and surpassed my expectations of what an AirBnB host would do. She made us feel comfortable and welcome, and was incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend renting a car as the location is a bit far from Dublin city center. If I ever am able to visit Ireland again, I would definitely book this apartment again.

  • We had a fantastic stay at Ronans house in Blessington. The location was perfect for a week spent exploring the Wicklow hills and Dublin. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures just outside the town of Blessington (about 25 mins walk) which has everything we needed (food, Guinness etc.). We got the bus into Dublin one day which went from just up the road directly into the city and was such an easy way to explore the city. I would definitely recommend Ronans house for a trip to Wicklow.

    Hannah2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Ronan and his family were excellent hosts. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home and welcome. There was a wealth of information available to us about the surrounding area to include Dublin. Ronan has taken this a step further and organized guided treks for you to take as well as providing CD's of the history and other pertinent facts to listen to while you drive to your destination. The house and grounds were lovely and more than adequate for the four of us who stayed here. The area is just beautiful. Ronan was very willing to help out with suggestions of places to see as well as nearby dining options. We all had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend staying here and would stay again in a heartbeat!! We even got to see a bit of horse jumping in the evening, we just loved everything!!

    Julie2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Ronan and Louise were very welcoming and friendly, and their communication was great. The photos of the place do not do it justice! The house is much bigger than it appears in the photos, and is very cosy and nicely decorated. My family and I (8 of us plus a two year old) stayed here very comfortably while in Ireland for a wedding. We all loved the place and wished we could have stayed longer. Ronan also provided a crib for our son, which was very helpful, and some kitchen staples were also provided (sugar, tea, and the delicious brown bread). We would stay here again in an instant!

    Amanda2016-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend in Buttercup Stables - the house is big and comfortable with large rooms and good facilities for cooking etc. Ronan was a great host and even posted to us something we left behind! Would recommend highly

    David2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here recently with our family and it was ideal for what we needed. The space was brilliant for us having as we had a toddler and the enclosed garden was so safe, perfectly fenced in for him to enjoy kicking his football around. This place will suit all groups young and older as only one bedroom is upstairs and the remainder on the ground floor. Great space in all rooms with lovely fresh bed linen and plush towels. We would recommend to friends and hope to stay again. Met both Ronan and Louise who are so friendly and accommodating- all in all a thumbs up from me :)

    Natanya2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay - great surroundings and a warm welcome. Within walking distance of The local town. Plenty of room, bedding and towels provided as well as cleaning products and laundry powder and dishwasher tablets. Wifi and TV with lots of channels and a dvd player. Lovely patio area and plenty of parking. Would recommend it.

    Steven2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Helen is the perfect hostess and her home is a gem in the Irish countryside. Our spacious room and king sized bed were so comfortable, and the ensuite is at the end of the hall so we had lots of privacy. The property is beautiful with lovely gardens and a view of the sheep meadow behind the house. Helen greeted us with tea and homemade cake which was much appreciated after our travels. We enjoyed our chats with her (and her lovely sense of humor) and sitting in the parlor to watch a bit of sports and have an evening glass of wine. We felt like royalty at breakfast served on beautiful china in the sunroom, and didn't have to worry about eating again until supper time! Her place is close enough to Dublin that you could go in for the day and then head back to relax in the peace in quiet of the evening. We went horseback riding in the nearby Wicklow Mountains and it was wonderful fun. Thanks, Helen, for such a relaxing start to our Irish holiday!

  • What can I say about Fern Hallow Perfect Host in every way Helen goes that extra mile with her attention to detail. It's these details that are so important for one travelling and trying to find acceptable accommodation these days. Well Helen's place is far more that acceptable it's the best. Leave aside the wonderful scrumptious breakfast for a minute. Location absolutely stunning remote in fantastic setting. Very secure. House for the minute you enter to that time you just have to leave just feels like you are Home. Accommodation first class shower room next door and again that extra attention to detail. Then we come to breakfast not what you expect in AirBnB accommodation but no ordinary breakfast. Sets you up for the day. So Helen many thanks I will be back. Highly recommended

  • Fern Hollow is exactly as described and Helen is a perfect hostess. Our room was warm and cozy, comfortable bed. A car is needed but it was easy to get to with GPS and a great view of the Irish countryside. Helen's irish breakfast really put it over the top and even normal cereal and yogurt were a treat each morning in the beautiful sunroom. It was just what we needed. I totally recommend this home.

Within 10km we have Kippure Estate, Avon Ri Activity Centre, Blessington Greenway, Russborough House, Wicklow National Park. and Glendalough is approx. 24km away using a particularly scenic route. This is a great location to experience Irish life
  • Heather and Kens home was exquisite. No cost had been spared with decorating the airbnb rooms. The bathroom is amazing and lovely breakfast.. I wish we didn't have to leave. A GEM.

  • Very nice place, great owners. Very helpful. We had a very nice conversation upon arrival over a cup of tea. Would definitely recommend staying here.

  • Heather and her husband were very accomodating. We were originally supposed to arrive at 6 but due a missed flight we arrived after 11pm. it was not a problem for them and they stayed up to let us in with smiles on their face. the place is very cozy and quaint on a farmhouse. there is a field with some horses nearby and when you wake up and step outside it is an amazing feeling. they even provided breakfast for us. we originally though this was a shared housing but it is completely isolated. seperate entrance, a very very nice bathroom, a little breakfast bar that was fully stocked. if your hesitating, stop. book this place because you wont regret it. oh also give Jodie a back scratch! its their cute farm dog very friendly and cuddly

    Mike2017-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay near blessington at Heather's place. Heather and her family will do everything possible to make you feel at home. They are very well aware about their region and will give you recommendations about Wicklow. The bedroom is very beautiful and has its own fireplace which is definitely a plus. It's also important to mention that the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely recommend their place to anyone that needs to stay around the Wicklow national parc.

    Thomas2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The bedroom/bath here has it's own private entrance and is "new" on the inside, yet with great old world charm you would expect from a country house. Great in history and the gardens are lovely as well. The hosts are! lovely and very helpful. I would highly recommend staying.

    Ginger2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Heather was a fantastic host! She patiently accommodated us despite arriving late, and graciously made us breakfast even though we had to leave early the next day. I regret not spending more time at her beautiful farm house--great location in the mountains and close to Dublin, gorgeous room and bathroom, and wonderful host. :)

    Katie2016-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at heathers house! She and her family are great hosts and nice people to meet! The rooms are beautiful! Go there! You won't regret it!

The apartment is located in a former stud farm on the 1st floor of a one storey building, surrounded by old stoned stable buildings and fields. Quiet, with view on countryside. The apartment has just been renovated. It has a fully equipped kitchen (microwave, oven, fridge, dishwasher), a spacious and bright living space. The bed can be made as a super king size bed or twin beds depending on your needs, and we can provide a baby cot if required. We provide all the linen.
  • Mark and Marie are warm and welcoming hosts, providing friendly support for a stay in the secluded, very comfortable apartment. The space is on their turf farm in the middle of the gorgeous Irish countryside and you can literally hear the silence. The newly renovated apartment is upstairs and has wonderful views of the countryside and is modern, spacious and well appointed. We loved our ten days with them and their family, and were sad to leave. Very highly recommended.

There is a living room for use by all guests which has a TV & fireplace. Complimentary Wifi. You will be warmly welcomed with complimentary tea & coffee served with delicious home baking. Located in Wicklow in the Blessington lakes area.
If you are an outdoors person you will certainly enjoy a walk along the shore by the lake, there are also lots of beautiful hill & forest walks, I recommend a car to get around, bikes are available for rent from Toms bike shop in Blessington. Russborough is a wonderful local 18th century palladian house (the house tour is a must!) with beautiful parklands & gardens. Glendalough is a magical & spiritual place which will certainly leave you with the feel good factor after spending a day there. There is a great variety of local restaurants to dine in, the award winning Ballymore Inn, The West Wicklow House, The Hollywood Inn to name but a few.

Large, bright, beautifully decorated house of 232 Sq. metres on 1.5 acres of private gardens, surrounded by the Wicklow Mountains and overlooking the Blessington Lakes. Perfect for walking, hiking, golfing, fishing, canoeing and all that nature has to offer. Relax and unwind on the south facing deck or garden and enjoy the beautiful & ever-changing views - cloud watching by day and (weather permitting) spectacular star gazing by night. Stunning location and only 45 mins from Dublin city centre
Lacken Lodge is in a beautiful location. Magnificent mountains, lakes, rivers, valleys, historic houses and gardens and heritage locations on the doorstep. Guests can easily reach nearby championship golf courses and race courses all about 30 minutes’ drive away. The Blessington Lakes provide ample opportunities for fishing, sailing and canoeing. Several outdoor activity centres and family visitor attractions located nearby. It is an ideal holiday location for nature lovers, hikers, writers, golfers, sailors, fishermen, families & anyone who wants to get away from it all and simply enjoy the quiet beauty of the countryside!
Lacken has a real community feel with stunning views every way you look! There are two great local pubs nearby, within walking distance, and Blessington Town Centre is about 6 km from the house. It's a busy local town with supermarkets, chemist, banks, pubs and restaurants. Bike hire and fishing licences are available here.
  • This house is amazing! The view, the living room, the books (if you like psychology)... and the size were just incredibly great! We've been there with kids and the living room is so far away from the bed rooms that the kids could play in the morning without waking anyone up. The surrounding nature is wonderful, too. Only a pitty that the lake is mainly privatized. We will be back. Thank you, Avril, for this wonderful experience! Hint: bring your baby-phone... the rooms are far away from the living room (as written before)

    Anna2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • To say the view is stunning is an understatement. Wicklow is a beautiful county with plenty to see and do. The children enjoyed the garden very much. The house and beds were very comfortable and Avril extremely thorough in showing us around. We visited Russborough House and gardens which is very nearby and went fishing on the lake.

    Ursula2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Avril was most helpful in showing us around the house and providing useful information about the location and things do to both prior and during our stay. The house was the perfect place to stay to celebrate my sisters hen party and it nicely accommodates a large group of people, all of the beds were incrediably comfy! If we come back to the area we would love to stay at Lacken lodge again!

    Cassidy2016-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience and it was all very positive. We had a great stay at Avril's house, the view truly is gorgeous. We spent all our evenings looking out at the lakes. Avril's neighbour, Miriam, let us in and when she realised we were lost (at the other side of the lake without sat nav or internet to help direct us!) she kindly drove to meet us so we could follow her! We had 3 children with us aged 8, 6 and 3. The house proved a great base for getting to Glendalough, Greenan Mazes and generally finding spots to 'climb mountains'. We had a delicious lunch in Grangecon Cafe in Blessington. For any runners Naas parkRun was the nearest and a very friendly little race if a little tricky to find with dodgy sat nav!!

    lorraine2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had an an amazing week at Lacken. The view is absolutely beautiful! Avril was very helpful showing us round and giving us local information. We had a great time kayaking which is just round the corner. The place was perfect for us but you definitely need to have a car to make the most of the area. Highly recommended!

    Laura2015-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best weekend. 7 of us came to Lacken to celebrate a significant birthday. The house was perfect and could have catered for more of us. Avril met us on arrival - even though we were early - and showed us round the house. Then she suggested somewhere we could go for lunch while she finished up and waited in for our grocery delivery. By the time we came back she had the fire in the living room lit for us. Avril also helped us before we arrived with suggestions of where to eat in the evening and how to get there - supplying us with the numbers for local taxi drivers. The house is well equipped if you want to stay in and cook and the area is fantastic if you want to get out and about for walking. I would definitely recommend Avril's home. I would love to come back but next time stay for longer.

    Fiona2016-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lacken Lodge is lovely, very comfortable and has an amazing view! We had a really lovely stay. Prior to our stay, Avril emailed over directions to the house from the airport and an information document about the house, how everything works, amenities nearby and things to do in the local area, which was very helpful! She followed up with a call to see if we had any questions. I would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back again sometime soon! Thank you for a lovely stay Avril!

    Leah2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The scenery is incredible and the house is set in an AONB which is surrounded by green fields full of sheep and a beautiful lake. Avril is a very accommodating host. This was a perfect Irish countryside getaway for my family bank holiday weekend, with several incredible landscape drives and scenery walks close by.

Private room in pretty cottage in terrace of six 18th C. cottages. In the countryside yet close to all amenities. The bedroom is cosy in winter but airy in summer with views over the garden, and guests can breakfast in the kitchen with its AGA cooker or the sunny conservatory.
Comfortable and welcoming in a house with all modern conveniences including central heating, AGA cooker in kitchen and sunny conservatory for breakfasts. Guests are encouraged to use the other rooms with Sky TV, Wifi and the private garden when weather permits. Mobile phone coverage is erratic, because of the stone walls, but Wifi is fine and my landline is available for emergencies.
Where do I begin? Rathmore is a quiet enclave of six terraced 18th century cottages offering peace and tranquility. At the same time we are within a few minutes drive to Kill Village, Naas town and an hour to the capital city, Dublin. We are also ideally situated for access to County Wicklow with its beautiful scenery and historic GLENDALOUGH. The nearby Blessington Lakes and Wicklow Mountains are ideal for either a relaxing stroll or more strenuous hill-walking. The Avon Ri Adventure Centre in Blessington has abseiling and other activity sports available. For golfers there are four or five golf courses in the area which welcome guests. A great interest in Ireland is horse racing, both on the Flat and National Hunt (jumping). Punchestown Racecourse is a ten minute drive and both Naas Racecourse and the Curragh Racecourse are within a 30 minute drive. Ireland is also a renowned horse breeding country, with Kildare being "The Bloodstock County." The international bloodstock sales are held at the famous GOFFS BLOODSTOCK SALES Compex ((URL HIDDEN) a mere 15 minute drive away, with the Tattersalls' Sales Complex approximately an hours drive. The Irish National Stud and Japanese Gardens are also less than an hour's drive at Kildare Town. Horseback riding and trekking are also available locally. Russborough House, just outside Blessington, is a beautiful 18th century classical mansion in a glorious setting. It was the home of the late Sir Alfred Beit and his wife Clementine (Mitford). After his death Sir Alfred left the house, with its priceless collection of Old Masters, paintings and furniture, to the Irish people. The house is open to visitors from Easter to November with the grounds open all year except for the Christmas period. For guests who can't resist the call of a little retail therapy, there are excellent boutiques in Naas, the Kildare Village Outlet Shopping at Kildare town, and either the Dundrum Town Centre or Dublin's Grafton Street, both 50 minutes away. A great variety of food is available locally - from casual dining in Naas and Kill to good food in the local pub, the Dewdrop Inn in Kill. Not to mention the renowned steaks at the Ballymore Inn in Ballymore Eustace or the Brown Bear just outside Naas. A wide variety of entertainment is available in Kill, Naas and the surrounding towns and villages, with many bars and hotels hosting traditional Irish music. I am delighted to help with bookings and directions. For those travelling for business, Rathmore is very convenient for the high-tech, pharmaceutical and financial businesses located at the CITYWEST Business Parks, with less than 30 minute travelling time. In Naas, the KERRY GROUP International Development and Worldwide HQ, is also nearby.
  • Ann was a wonderful host - nothing too much trouble for her to do - breakfast was great - she allowed me to store my bike in her conservatory - Ann's house is beautiful and in the middle of the countryside - during my stay there i had an emergency which Ann was like a mother to me - I cant speak highly enough of this woman and only sorry I couldnt stay longer and repay her for her kindness she showed me

  • Ann was very friendly and sat with us for tea and coffee. We had a long drive the next day so had no chance to sit out in the fabulous garden. Quiet location if this is what you like. Close to punchestown. However it is impossible to get out of punchestown after concert.

We recommend her highly.

  • We enjoyed the very warm welcome in the cottage of Ann. She is a great host and she doesnt hesitate to help you. The cottage is comfortable and well situated: not too far from Dublin City, Wicklow Mountains... The breakfasts were copious and delicious. We feel like to be at home, thank you Ann. See you soon. Alain and Gregoire Nous avons apprécié l'accueil chaleureux dans le cottage de Ann. Elle a le sens de l'accueil et n'hésite pas à vous aider. • We were only able to stay for a night because of our travel schedule, but the experience was lovely! Ann was patient with us as we tried to navigate to her cottage, and even drove us into Naas proper to get a meal. In the morning, she talked with us over tea and served us a full Irish breakfast - a really sweet (and delicious) touch.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Isobel's cabin for our first anniversary. The cabin was secluded and in a beautiful part of the countryside but an easy 30mins drive to the center of Dublin. A car is definitely needed. The cabin itself was beautiful - comfy double/king bed, large walk in shower, comfy sofa in front of the log burning fire and adequate sized kitchen. We were able to prepare breakfasts and lunches there and the host was very generous to have left bread, milk and butter for us arriving. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to be out with busy Dublin, with good access to the rest of Ireland. Definitely a lovely stay for couples. Thanks Isobel! X
