“Our favorite cafe in Bolinas. Sweet, not fancy. Delicious fish and chips. (What do expect from a Brit?!)”

State / Provincial Park
“Forget the crowded mayhem of Muir Woods. Here's a beautiful stand of redwoods next to a quiet creek that locals love. Excellent spot for a picnic. It can get crowded on weekends (but NEVER like Muir Woods), so if you go on Saturday/Sunday, try to get there before noon. If you can, visit on a weekday and you'll have the place to yourself. There's a wonderful 5-mile walking/biking trail on the old railroad right-of-way. It's a state park, so you'll need to pay (per car) to enter.”

“The most popular beach to visit in this area, a fun place to go. Expect traffic to and from, though, as there is only one road to get out there. ”

“Perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and one of their house-made pastries in the morning. Coffee stand is open at 6am, and the cafe opens at 8am for breakfast and brunch.”

“Good, protected bay for beginners to practice. Can occasionally get "good" a few times a year. The problem is that Duxbury Reef blocks most of the west and northwest swells, so it is usually much smaller than other places on the coast. ”

“Go here for all your natural food needs. Also some pre-made food - soups made daily, tomales, and some sandwiches and salads - for beach snacks. Find the Free Box in the plaza - honor system place to find and leave treasures.”

“If you venture over to Stinson, try the Parkside for a sit down lunch or dinner, coffee and pastry, locally baked bread or quick burger and soft serve ice cream. They have something for every one. I highly recommend stopping in the shop for a loaf of freshly baked bread. It is the best in town!”
